No this was not in the manga! It was way different! This whole episode was all anime only no one knew this was coming! This imo was a huge improvment over the manga! Also Inoue did nothing like this in the manga so its all new.

Loro

Yhwach gets the almighty when it’s daybreak and looses it during dusk. Yhwach being “asleep” is more of a metaphorical sleep as his power is resting.

The ending of this episode left me speechless.

Remember how the author had said that he wasn’t happy with how this arc turned out in the manga and due to being rushed couldn’t do the things he wanted to in the end but got to do some of that in the anime with anime original content. Well we’ve seen some scenes like that here and there previously but this entire episode is completely original. Even the manga readers didn’t know about any of this. Absolute insanity and imo greatest episode of the show so far. Just wow

I was wondering if you’d still be watching TYBW weekly since you’re on vacation or if you’d just be binging the eps you missed when you got back lol. But yeah: as others have said, pretty much nothing in this ep was in the manga, so even people that “knew” what was coming got blindsided by this, especially both Orihimes actions and Ichigos Bankai both of which are 100% brand new for the anime. As such, people actually don’t know a lot about it just yet, but one thing that I have seen, is a pretty damn solid theory that the chains in Ichigos Bankai are somehow connected to the Chains of Hell. (Speaking of new things; quick aside about Ywhach line of “you are defeated because you fight”; the way I see it is that due to Ywhachs thoughts on power, he sees subservience as better then defeat. He’s basically say to Ichigo “Fighting and losing means you suffer more and lose more then if you’d just surrendered to power the moment it arrived, so why bother?” ) “He keeps creating the moon with every Getsuga”. Technically speaking he always has been lol. “Getsuga Tensho” directly translates to something like “The Moon that bites through Heaven”. Being in Bankai just allows him to manifest that concept a bit more literally lol. Regarding your question about Yhwach and Hashwalth: expanding on what Loro said; Hashwalth only has the Almighty when Yhwach is ‘sleeping’; which is him just taking a break to recharge his strength. The “black goop” is the power of the Soul King, but that is not the same as the Almighty, however because Ywhach does have the ability to share his power with other Quincys as he sees fit, now that the Soul Kings power is also his power, he’s transferred some of that to Hashwalth as well while hes acting as a guard. You know how a few eps back, you ragged on Yhwach for being surprised that Ichigo was trying to pull out Whites power, and how “He has the Almighty but he couldn’t see this coming?” Well: that because Yhwach *doesnt* have the Almighty right now, or at least not the full strength of it since Hashwalths been holding it for him since before the start of the cour. In other words: the Yhwach that Ichigos been fighting this whole time? You might not be as wrong as you think when you said that he’s only been fighting at 5% power lol. (That said… Hashwalth just lost to Uryu right before Orihime blasted Yhwach, so what do you suppose is going to happen to the power that Hashwalth was holding onto? 🤔)

I think the best way to look at it, is that the black goop with eyes is the soul king spiritual power and the almighty is when yhwach has multiple pupils in his eye. And during the ichigo and yhwach fight he doesn't have the almighty and when haslwach loses you can see the almighty return to yhwach by seeing his eyes gaining multiple pupils again. (Hopes this helps)

Have fun in your vacation 🤍✌️

Kubo had to speed up the manga bcs he was very sick, now he can add what he wanted at that time

Ngl, Ichigo with that chain around his neck looks like an attack dog for someone else, u mentioned hell, maybe he's a hellhound of the devil lol
