Not a spoiler. The author also wrote some "if route" chapters or novels i dont really know but im sure the others will point some things out when the time is right :D One of them is this: IF ROUTE:Sloth (Rem) – Arc 3: Subaru accepts Rem's offer to run away together instead of fighting his fate, living a peaceful life in Kararagi

2026-09-10 22:00 Absolutely amazing episode the speech is amazing. Like I mentioned before a lot of people drop the show after Subarus outrage on Emilia and then people love the show here. People actually dropped it here too cuz they think he should be with rem lol. The entire episode is just 2 characters talking yet it’s the fan favorite episode of s1. The writing and Subarus development is soo good and easily the best part imo. The sub is amazing but when people bring up examples of good anime dubs this speech is one example commonly used. There’s an also a side story written for April fools by the author, a what if scenario where Subaru ran away with rem to a different country and have children etc.

Someone pointed out to me once that ignoring the whole first part with Puck; this episode is basically just 20 minutes of 2 people just standing in one spot and talking to each other: and yet its one of the most engaging and emotional episodes of the series. Genuinely I cannot tell you how much I dream of being able to write a scene like that in a film or show. (I’ve even got a specific one in mind in a film screenplay I’ve been trying to carve out over years) Honestly that fact alone might make this my favourite episodes of any show Ive watched. The level of writing is masterful and something I aspire to be able to do one day. I think the difference between this part and what Sakura did is that Sakura was just straight out emotional manipulation: she was lying through her teeth so she could get him to do what she wanted, whereas here, Subaru asking Rem to go with him was him lying to himself, while admitting his love for Emilia his him trying to genuinely be honest for a change, and even at the start Rem basically implied that pretending he really wants to be with her just because she was there would’ve hurt her more then him being open about how he really wants Emilia over her. (That being said: That might just be me being soft on Subaru on account if the fact that… I *may* have also found myself in a similar position where I had to tell someone that I knew loved me more than anything in the world that I couldn’t love them back. Granted: I didn’t do it by saying that I was in love with someone else… but on the other hand: I had actually been dating this girl for a while when I had to say this to her so… in a way that actually might’ve been crueller lol)

This episode brings chills just from dialogues. Not anything going around barely they moved but still what an episode. The author, anime house, sub voices(the best), and at the same time top notch quality in dubbing as well. They really love what are doing.

But what if his save point updates? Then it might be too late? Doesn’t seem like he decided when it updates so it’s quite unpredictable in that way

Peak!!Lucky and also us getting chills multiple times just by two characters talking. That's how a story is made❤️This also proves that you can make multiple characters, multiple scenes and what not but the soul of a story remains on how it's written and displayed.
