We welcome the start of a fresh lunar cycle with a New Moon in dreamy

Pisces

. Under this luminary, we’re given the opportunity to throw out the old and start something new. And what better way to kick off this cycle of change than with a bath ritual? After all, there’s nothing more Taurean than an excuse to lounge and luxuriate in the tub!

A ritual bath allows us to cleanse ourselves both physically and energetically. As the water drains out, we release what is no longer serving us and create room for the possibilities that await. Each astrological sign is ruled by an element—earth, air, fire, or water. Here’s a ritual for each.

To begin each ritual, set the mood by dimming the lights and running a bath of warm water. Let’s get magical!

Earth (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn)

Earth signs are attuned to the physical world, and this ritual invokes feelings of balance to bring you back to center. In the bath, close your eyes and imagine yourself barefoot in a lush garden. Feel the soil beneath your toes as you visualize yourself planting the seeds of your new intentions. Watch these seeds sprout and bloom into the blossoms of your biggest dreams. Stay in this space for as long as you need to, and when you’re finished, emerge from the bath with a new sense of purpose.

Air (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius)

The air signs are all about ideas, and this ritual is designed to inspire you through relaxing breath work. Put on a playlist of your favorite relaxing music. As you sit in your bath, close your eyes and begin to relax every muscle in your body. Imagine a vibrant yellow cloud surrounding you with the warmth of the sun. Yellow is an uplifting color, and it invigorates us with optimism and a fresh perspective. Breathe in this yellow air through your nose, sending it circulating through your entire body, then breathe it out through your mouth. Do this several times before emerging from the bath. Then write down the ideas that came to you during this exercise. Let these notes inspire your next steps in achieving your dreams.

Water (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces)

Sensitive water signs are ruled by their emotions, so this ritual serves as an opportunity to release any emotional baggage you’ve been holding on to. Add Epsom salts to your warm water—they draw out sluggish energy and relax you, so use them liberally. Cleanse your skin with a scrub, particularly one that includes salt or essential oils, like lavender, which induces calm feelings. As you sit in the bath, imagine the water purifying you and removing excess emotions from your energetic field. When you finish your bath, visualize all of these unnecessary feelings going down the drain with the water. Complete the ritual with a cup of your favorite tea.

Fire (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius)

The element of fire is wild, passionate, and difficult to contain, so this ritual is designed to help you harness your energy into achieving your goals. Before you submerge yourself in the water, write down your intention on a piece of paper. Be as specific as possible. Leave the piece of paper out near you as you perform this ritual. Fill your tub with pink Himalayan salt, red rose petals, and warming cinnamon sticks (powdered will do in a pinch—but put it in cheesecloth first to avoid a messy cleanup!). Not only does cinnamon speed up a spell’s activation, but it’s also a natural cleanser. As you sit in the bath, imagine yourself accomplishing your biggest goals and watching your dreams coming to fruition. After the bath, fold up the piece of paper with your intention, strike a match, and light it on fire.
