New Moon Cleansing Body Scrub Ritual (Patreon)

The New Moon in Pisces is on March 13th, which is today! Since Pisces is a water sign, I thought a New Moon Cleansing Body Scrub Ritual for the bath or shower would be perfect! This ritual uses salt, which has been used for clearing negative energy for hundreds of years, and symbolically cleanses away what’s no longer serving us in a ritual shower or bath. Could you do this cleansing ritual during any New Moon? Of course! Could you do this cleansing ritual whenever you want to rid of some stagnant or negative energies? Absolutely!

To make yours, you’ll need:

- A pretty jar with a lid

- Coconut Oil

- Epsom Salts (we used lavender scented, but you can use what you’d like!)

- Sea Salt or Pink Himalayan Salt (we used a mixture of both)

- A few drops of your favourite essential oil

- Dried herbs (such as, lavender or rose petals)

- Crystal to charge the salt

To make:

In a bowl, combine your salts and Epsom salts then add in enough coconut oil to coat the salt. Sprinkle in your essential oil then mix well, before spooning into your jar. You can also add flowers or herbs, or even a favourite crystal to charge the salt.

If you’re doing this as part of a new moon ritual, you can also write down your intentions or list of things you wish to leave behind (think behaviours or patterns that no longer serve you) and leave it in your jar overnight.

How to use:

At the new moon, take some time to take a shower or bath, with the intention that it cleanses your energy as you step into a new cycle. Focus on your intentions and all that you wish to leave behind as you use the scrub (which will leave your skin feeling beautifully soft!) and visualise the clearing of old, stagnant energy before stepping out, renewed!

The new moon is a lovely time for cleansings and new beginnings. This spell will set you up for both. There's no better way to start a new moon cycle than with an energetically fresh and clean slate! If you've been in a funk, think of this as a bit of a reset.

Make yourself a simple bath salt scrub by gathering a cup of sea salt, a couple tablespoons of lavender buds, and two to four drops of lavender oil. Combine and mix thoroughly, then put into a small jar. Empower and charge the mixture as you see fit on your altar. Now, use as a scrub or soak in the shower or bath, and envision all the muck of the recent past going down the drain. You can chant the following as you cleanse with the bath salts:

"By salt I cleanse and clear,

With lavender I calm and refresh.

When the lunar cycle is new,

So may it be a new start for me too.
