A new live event for Atlas will take place next Saturday (10th August).

Gold Rush

Hidden somewhere on The Island Of Fortune™ are several chests filled with gold.

Our brave adventurers, in teams of 2, will endeavour to capture this gold for themselves, preventing others from getting away with the loot. The winning team will be the one with the most gold when the chests run dry.

Specifics:

Each team of two will have a start point on the exterior of the island. This should include a chest (or two if they're feeling confident) of their own, a flag to denote that it is a starting point and at least one bed ... for respawn purposes.

All players will be unarmed and unarmored (cloth clothing is allowed) at the beginning of the game. Water, food, a hatchet, pick, torch and sickle are the only items permitted at the start. No harvested materials can be brought into the game and no harvesting make be done before the game starts.

No pets.

Players can craft whatever they wish once the game begins.

In the first 15 minutes of the game no PVP is permitted. After that, yes, you can cause each other as much harm as necessary. If you want to win, there is a strong chance you'll need to dispatch other teams to do so.

Don't spawn kill. If a player is at their designated start point, don't kill them. Equally, no stealing from start points. An edge case: you've pursued a player back from a gold chest, you've almost got them down... they're 10 feet from reaching safety and you stick an arrow in the back of their head. This is legal. A player who has not yet deposited gold in their home chest is fair game.

Play to the spirit of these rules, okay?

The game will last until one of the following occurs:

- All the gold has been collected.

- All the players have become fed up and go home.

- The server decides to ruin everyone's fun.

The winning team will be the one with the most gold. They will receive a bonus. That bonus will be gems.

The live stream will start at 20:00 UTC on 10 August. The game will commence at 20:30. The island location will be declared a few days before the event. Please make your way there before the stream begins, and organise a team-mate. If you cannot find a team-mate ask on the server, there will be others who are up for the task.
