Yeah, so you're all, "Why's there no Transport Fever on the schedule, hmm?"

And I'm all, "Cos I'm aiming to do more things with it."

This doesn't wash however, so you're giving it, "Don't need you to do more things with it. Just do more of it."

I'm, like, resolute and that, "No. It's a thing I'm doing for a while."

Cutting off your next objection, I persist, "Look. I'm doing a longer-running series quickly with a video from a long-running escapade and bringing something new and one-off each week."

I pause as I reflect on the point that I haven't come up with a one-off for this week yet.

"This means that there are some nice playlists to go through, a little something to raise a smile and hopefully something you'll find at least mildly interesting. I'm keeping it fresh."

"BUT WE DON'T WANT FRESH"

"Fine."

"FINE."

"Fine."

*door slams*

All this puts me in mind of my favourite comment-based exchange in the last couple of weeks. A rail fan, who'd clearly reached their limit, spake thus, "Trains running backwards are extremely unrealistic. Until you fix it I refuse to watch any more."

To which I replied, "But how will you know?"

Yeah, I'm a smartass. It's my cross to bear. The point is that until you give some of this other nonsense a spin, all of which is straining under the weight of my usual enigmatic commentary, how will you know whether it's something you'll find diverting? You won't. This is why a one-shot or part 1 in a series "perform" rather well.

Is there a point to this?

No. Let's move on.

  • The series: Settlement Survival
  • The one-shot: The Long Drive
  • The Friday special: Farming Simulator
  • The live stream: Settlement Survival - series concluder

Next week, new series and Car Mechanic Sim.

I've watched so many of the Colonel's videos such that I read the post in his voice and the self banter was not at all surprising. Wholly enjoyable. I look forward to fresh train content.
