It was an old cliché from way before my time from poorly planned adventure novels that they would say "with a mighty leap" or "with one bound" the hero would escape the situation. It's a play on that.

Harry is the epitome a british royal family member interacting with the public, "How facinating" etc, and with quite a bit of 80's tory politician, particularly in the way he tends to agree with the last person he's spoken to and how he speaks in general.

This is by far the weakest episode in all of Black Adder. I could barely get through it watching it with you. The finale is much better.

I actually think its very good bc the Whichsniffer is played very well. You can't judge it by the other trial that happened over a decade later you know, thats just not fair. In this first series its very good, kinda suggests why the queen is so checked out lol. Although she can't do the nose wiggle.

Random one, but why do I think the reference to "graves opening and our ancestors rising up to engage in sporting activities" is a reference to those rediculous adverts that happen every time its the olympics or world cup. I definitely do remember an advert for something like that happening but I was 3 when this aired so it was definitely later.

Probably the best episode of S1 so far; it was non stop. The Witchsmeller is a great character that deserves a revisit in future series, good continuity with Edmund's wife and speaking of characters I'd like to see again, the Queen is brilliant. The revelation that she is a witch and the Bewitched style Fourth wall cheeky wink was great. And is this the first time Baldrick says 'I have a cunning plan'?
