I am enjoying this. Next episode introduces a big name, but not a great episode in itself. Separately, I know there are direct and indirect references to Shakespeare, the works and the man, and if you stick at it, eventually we will see him played by an actor whom you will certainly recognise.

Ronald Lacey is on fine fine form in this one. "I am a colossal pervert . . ." whilst casually massaging Edmund's shoulders is one of the best line deliveries in all of comedy.

This is the "Virgin Queen" that Doctor Who married & abandoned on their wedding day (he later bragged to Ood Sigma that Good Queen Bess' nickname was no longer... ahem!). When her father, King Henry, declared Elizabeth to be illegitimate, she was imprisoned in the Tower of London. Later she became Queen and had her Catholic cousin, Mary Queen of Scots beheaded for treason. Usually she is viewed as a brilliant & resourceful leader who lead England into a period of great cultural & economic growth... so this is a "slightly" different portrayal!

Random suggestion for the channel: I don't know what it looks like on the creator side, but if there's a way to enable it so lower-tier members can still see every single post (where the thumbnail is blurred, and they can't actually open the post), I think that would be better. Speaking as someone who has been subscribed or followed multiple Patreon channels on the lower tiers, when higher-tier posts are hidden completely, it gives the impression that the creator doesn't ever post anything new. So there's no real motivation to increase the pledge. If every post can be seen (even if they're inaccessible to some) people are aware of what they're missing.

Elizabeth had good propaganda though. She is viewed as actually being quite cautious for a monarch of these times even though her persecution of Catholics was still a big issue. Compared to her father, who was completely paranoid and insane by the time he died, she reined things in a lot. The few 'projects' she started mostly ended in disaster (including our own Armada sent to attack Spain) but she did oversee a great period of exploration, artistic and 'scientific' endeavour - though these may have happened without her. Elizabeth did find herself at a tricky time, being a woman in charge of a country being eyed up by foreign powers and even from those within the country itself. So she did a good job of not rocking the boat any more than was necessary and basically trying to keep things boring and steady for a while. Then we got Kings again in the shape of the Stewarts and it all went bonkers straight away.
