Garth Ferengi sounds like a Star Wars/Star Trek crossover Sith Lord.

TuneIntoSanityFM

There's a lot of sped up exposition, yes. -The episodes sometimes ran up to 8 minutes over..

Kirk Deighton

I need Garth Ferengi's Darkspace 9 to exist now.

David Noone

I'd argue you've already seen worse in Darkplace than ever shows up in "Mighty Boosh". Boosh is still considered the pinnacle of brit comedy in this era. Would HIGHLY recommend

Cedric Bombs

Garth's accent is definitely put-on haha I think it's an impersonation of Shaun Hutson, a shlocky British horror writer from the 80s/90s

Vina

They said they're not going to, at least in part because there is black face in it (and I don't blame them). I found the series extremely hit or miss. I love the "Eels" song though, it's really catchy

Rime Pendragon

Howling Jimmy Jefferson is worse than anything in Darkplace.

Paflad

I feel like this is the episode that truly solidified Dean Lerner as Richard Ayoade's best character. We've had hints of it previously, but this is where the truly unhinged sociopath, with the casual violence to children and incredibly heavy implication that he murdered his co-star, is really cemented. The beginning of a lore that they would mine for much pitch black comedy gold in the extended interviews and subsequent Man To Man series.

Hell3Quin

Theres also a lot of rape references.

My interpretation is Dean Lerner murdered Madeleine after she accidentally witnessed one of Dean & Todd's darker escapades.

Pirateman

Well.. if you aren't up for Mighty Boosh.. You should still definitely watch The Thick Of It.
