Hi, as always, a nice reaction and interesting thoughts/conversations between you two. Ashley was a lot more present in the beginning, I think she was part of the circus group. But she was also away many times. So they seemed to have streamlined/changed it a lot. FYI Possible Spoiler: The guy with Essek named "Verrat" is basically named "Betrayal"/"Treason" in German. However I won't go further into the name/what will happen

There were a number of streamlining efforts done in this series to make the story flow better, but more importantly to leave fewer dangling storylines to clean up. When the game was being played, leaving extra story beats left unresolved gives the DM a chance to circle back and fill them in at times when they're revising the narrative to match the consequences of the players' choices. Hence, while Gustav and Toya died here, they lived in the game and Gustav's story was even briefly revisited in the campaign. Because there's likely no time to fit that into the series, instead both Toya and Gustav died as a result of the resolution of the carnival story. Likewise, Ashley's persistent absence from the campaign due to her filming schedule on the opposite side of the country was typically handwaved as her being drawn away by the presence of the Stormlord...ultimately, she was gone often enough, I expect it was simply easier to set her character aside until her presence was more...well, *present* in the story. I think my only disappointment thus far is we appeared to have skipped over at least one of my favourite guest characters of the campaign...but with luck, maybe they'll show up in the second season.
