Really interesting choice of setting, a pseudo contemporary New York with twin towers, in our space movie released just after 9/11. Wierd. Edit: Nevermind, it actually came out 10 days before 9/11. Awkward! Almost as bad as what happened with The Lone Gunmen. I guess you watched a later release with the subtitle changed to "The Movie". In Japan, it was "Knockin' on Heaven's Door".

To me, the movie seemed tonally off-kilter from the show and not just because of the animation or bigger story. For me, it felt like a more straight-forward good guys v. bad guys action movie with the Bebop crew saving the world. And with Vincent, I feel like if this were the show, he'd have been a much more sympathetic doomed antagonist - someone you feel bad for even though they're about to do something terrible. Maybe it's just my experience, but I didn't get any of that from him.

Anyone remember the petition to rename Peter Jackson's The Two Towers bc some idiot didn't know it wasn't a reference? Over 2000 signatures telling him he was an idiot before he closed it.

Hey anyone else notice that the Ol Geezer in yellow had 5 aces of the same suit? Cheating git 😄

As far as Spike being able to evasive maneuver away from shots & missiles. It should be noted that biblanes are way more manuverable than monoplanes like the spitfire. They just lacked the speed which is also what made jets superior to monoplanes. Jets ship is the Hammerhead by the way, only seen able to land on water in this movie. Also, Spike won that last fight against Vincent bc Vincent had just done the 'Thing' that had been driving him forward. Physically he was done, his body calling in all the cheques.
