Please, Yes, Minister next! Its the perfect replacement for this (which is sort of a spiritual successor) it's half hour episodes, sitcom format, and you will learn more about politics in general and British politics specifically in a hugely entertaining way than watching a hundred dry documentaries. Superb writing, superb performances, and so true to reality (if exaggerated for comedy) that then PM Margaret Thatcher was one of its biggest fans.

I suggested a couple of British shows worth watching last time (and to reinforce the suggestion above, Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister should happen at some point), but to *completely* change tack and go the opposite of British, I would also suggest Dix Pourcent / Call My Agent — 4x6 episodes of French cinema inside baseball that feels like it would be right up your alley.

After a tragic Tuesday, I needed something to take my mind off of things like this. A great bow to tie up the series or they could pick things back up whenever they want. A fantastic series. I can't wait for you to see In The Loop. I also look forward to see you take on Yes, Minister to see you revel in another iconic performance from its series antagonist.

The poignancy of the Malcolm non-speech is always undermined for me as I can't see his lawyer, standing over his shoulder, and not recognize the actor as the guy who played "Senator Agsby" in the Brass Eye sketch. I'm unwillingly anticipating a medical event.

Toast of London is a great sitcom about actors that can get pretty surreal. Or What We Do in the Shadows. Both have Matt Berry who is hilarious. Malcolm's monologue in this episode is great, but I particularly love the bit at the end. When he talks about leaving with dignity, with no friends, no kids, no glory or memoirs. He's fashioned this perfect exit where he disappears into the sunset, and then you see the look on his face as he realises that's his LIFE. It's not some story he's crafting for the press, he really is leaving with nothing.

Taskmaster, the cleaner is a short one 6ep. 3 series, hyperspace, spaced, all good options

Yes Minister and Yes, Prime Minister is the way to go

Something similar - but also less stressful! - and 34 episodes in total is the Twenty Twelve, W1A, Twenty Twenty Six saga. The first two seasons are about a management committee at the 2012 London Olympics. In W1A, a couple of the characters end up working at the BBC and it sends up their internal culture. Then the most recent series came out a few months ago about a team planning for the 2026 World Cup. Some characters jump from season to season while other characters are just within that specific setting. It's made in a sort of mockumentary style and all seasons are narrated by David Tennant.
