I'm not versed enough in fandom to know their 'ship name -- "Chakaneway"... "Kathrotay" ... "Jakotay?"

I really loved your reaction to this episode. It is not one of my favorites, but rewatching it with you pals was a treat. Thanks. The idea that Janeway can’t move on — I get it. At this point in Voyager, I think it is too soon, but the tension is definitely there. I also think it is tied to her hope that they might still reach home sooner rather than later. She believes she can get the crew home, and if she gives in to moving on, it may feel like she is giving up hope that this will happen. Although, yes, she still has hope that she and Mark will reunite. I do think waiting for someone you love, especially when the separation is not by choice, makes sense for a time. But after a few years, both people also have to be okay with the possibility of the other moving on.

I am a Janeway/Chakotay shipper. Great chemistry between them. I liked this episode. One episode left in the season. Not sure if you are going to watch some more TOS episodes again between seasons 2 and 3. I thought you said you might watch Spock's Brain. Lol. Fun reaction. Thanks from one of your loyal bitches. ☺️

Captain Chris Dorn

This might be a leap, they're the Ross and Rachel of Voyager.

I feel like we should be able to have cash bets with you about your predictions for the future story ;) Not an episode I'd watch on a rewatch, but I enjoyed it more I think because of that. Also just wait until you get to Picard..

Robert Beltran, from a ST Voyager panel discussing this episode: "The captain ... turned me down for a monkey! Here we are stranded on a planet by ourselves, here's Chakotay trying to get close to the ca.. OH LOOK, A MONKEY!" (cast & everyone in hysterics)

Dan Williams

No, but discussion would be spoilers....

Ummmm....... 😅 21:35 ish, in Tuvok's quarters, on the edge of frame, there's a candle....I just noticed, it's a bit burlesque....it looks like b**bs with tassels.....😂😂

Good thing we don't get plasma storms here on earth.

Interesting to see this right after "Tuvix" as in both episodes, we see Janeway go through something emotional, then essentially shut down at the end. Of course part of that is just what you do as a Captain, and part of is the "everything resets" nature of episodic television paired with the writers still wanting to write stories that impact the character. They hit her during the episode, but then she has to let it go. Whatever the reason, it ends up informing her character and reinforces her sense of isolation. (which is one of the major themes of this show)
