Just wait until you can do the entire drum intro from memory lol Loving the speculation, the questions, all of it! Can't wait to see your reaction as the season develops!

Azure_Sentry

Also, the names will get easier to remember with time. The miniseries threw a lot of them at you.

So apparently the version The Gals are watching has the female vocals in the main title theme. Originally, those were added for the European market, while the American version only had the underlying music. Subsequent seasons used only the version with the vocals. Because the series was a joint US-European funded production, the first season aired in Europe several months before it did in the US. Many Americans (which may or may not include me, invoking my rights under the 5th amendment to the Constitution) obtained the European episodes early through less-than-official channels. As a result, the following seasons were released simultaneously in both markets. But also, many such impatient Americans only ever knew the European theme.

Love how invested you get in everything! Can't think of any good non-spoiler info, so here's a refresher on some of the names? Senior Chief Petty Officer Galen Tyrol (GALE-un TEER-ul), his deckhand Cally; President Laura Roslin, Baltar's new assistant Lt. Felix Gaeta (GAY-tah with sometimes a tiny pronunciation of the E in between; pronunciation was changed from the miniseries)

Andrew Nguyen

There are no weak actors on this show. I'm so glad that you're getting into episodes that allow smaller roles like Lt. Gaeta, Petty Officer Dualla, and Billy to shine and add to the ensemble. Grace Park is amazing in her portrayals of Caprica-Boomer vs Galactica-Boomer, and it's hard to believe that this was Tricia Helfer's (Six) first real acting role!

Chris (darkwater)

Do not worry. All your answers will be questioned... uh.. yeah :)

Lizbeth Marcs

Grace Park (Boomer) and Tricia Helfer (Six) are stand-out actors among the Cylon actors because you KNOW what version of the characters they are playing just by their physicality. How they read their lines only reinforces it. Don't get me wrong, as stated above there are no weak actors on this show, but the Cylon actors have the tougher job, IMO.

This show has not yet begun to wreck you. I'm a huge fan of the original 1978 series, but this reimagining is SO SUPERIOR in quality of acting, writing... it's just amazing. Don't worry about the questions you're asking. They're all the right questions. All these questions have been asked before, and will be asked again. And they'll be answered.

John

Bear McCreary's music is on another level for the entire series. For many of the songs, there are lyrics in various languages. The track used frequently for Apollo and Cmdr. Adama is called "Wander My Friends" and the lyrics are in Irish Gaelic: "Like the mist on the green mountain, moving eternally Despite our weariness We'll follow the road Over hill and valleys To the end of the journey Come on my friends and sing with me Fill the night with joy and sport Here's a toast to the friends who have gone from us Like the mist of the green mountain, Gone forever" From the 1st Season soundtrack, peformed live: https://youtu.be/-wmyrrkqPL0?si=V9vlJdej7z5cMX-E Other tracks feature lyrics in Armenian, Sanskrit, Italian, Latin, Sinhala and Samoan. Spoiler Warning: Don't look for music beyond the season you're watching. Probably not a good idea to look for music for each season until you finish that season because it can be a spoiler. Some tracks accompany important events and knowing the music in advance can spoil an upcoming event.

So happy to see you invested already! This show means a lot to me because my Mother and I watched it often and I have a lot of books and graphic novels that further expand the story. This will be one of the most epic reactions to a show ever and I'm here for it ;)

“Shes so soft in her approach “……👀….

JXTN

It's funny you brought up Star Wars, in case you haven't realised, Crashdown (Boomer's co-pilot) is Starkiller!

Drake

did you ask the show that "nothing bad can happen" to the character with "terminal untreatable late stage cancer" ? xD

Ben Chan

Yep, I'm rewatching the first season because I didn't have access to the episodes when y'all started! Re: Balthar and the card game, I think the second level meaning was that Balthar is himself in the highest stakes game of his conniving, duplicitous life! The only way he's going to make it out the other side with his skin is if he can successfully bluff his way through - so he was honing his skills, rebuilding his confidence and preparing himself for the pressure cooker he's in to be dialed up to 100.

Ben Chan

Oh, also - while it's overshadowed by the drama, I loved the briefing room scene with everyone simply relaying what info they know and their perspective, given their expertise. It reminded me a bit of the Star Trek conference room scenes where you see that these are all professionals who are good at their jobs simply trying to assess a problem and determine a course of action. It's easy to dismiss a scene like that as simple exposition , but I really appreciated it.
