Development Diary #6: New Plugins (Mangafire, Comicazen, Softkomik), Bugfixes & Core Enhancements! (Patreon)

Hello everyone,

It’s time for another development update! I’ve been busy working on new features, fixing recent breakages, and implementing some quality-of-life improvements based on your feedback.

Here is a breakdown of what’s new in today's update:

🚀 New Browser-Integrated Plugins

I have added three brand-new plugins: Mangafire, Comicazen, and Softkomik. Because all three of these sources require web browser integration to function properly, they cannot be supported in the public release and are exclusive to this alpha build.

A quick note on Mangafire: I have successfully implemented the image descrambling function for this plugin. However, during my testing, I couldn’t find any manga currently using it. Because of this, I can't fully guarantee it works flawlessly just yet. If you encounter a manga that triggers the descrambling and gives you issues, please report it and share the specific title so I can finally test it in a real-world scenario and fix it if needed!

🔧 Bugfixes & Plugin Updates

Mangaplus & Coreview: Released crucial bugfixes for both plugins, which had unfortunately broken due to recent changes. They should now be working perfectly again.

⚙️ Core Program Improvements

Enhanced Header Support: Improved how the program handles pages requiring specific HTTP headers for acquisition, leading to more stable downloads across various sources.

Login Support with Browser Integration: Added groundwork for user authentication via web browser. For now, Softkomik is the only plugin utilizing this new feature, but it will be expanded to support other sources in future updates.

Download Queue Tweaks: Refactored the context menu for the download queue. Per a suggestion on GitHub, the "Reset" option has been replaced with "Restart" for better clarity.

Minor Bugfixes: Squashed several minor under-the-hood bugs to improve overall app stability.
