Development Diary #13: Core Enhancements, Plugin Overhauls, and New Features for JAM (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone,
I am incredibly excited to share this week’s development update for JAM. I have been working focusing heavily on user-requested quality-of-life improvements, system stability, and expanding our reach across even more manga platforms.
This week’s release is packed with significant updates designed to streamline your workflow and provide deeper control over your experience.
Core Enhancements & Workflow Optimization
Beyond the under-the-hood stability improvements and various bug fixes, I have introduced three major features:
Patreon-Exclusive: Advanced Queue Management: By popular demand, I have improved the robust automatic save feature for your download queue. This was a Patreon-exclusive benefit designed to give you peace of mind. You can now configure the frequency of the auto-save for your download queue lists directly within the settings. This ensures that even in the event of an unexpected interruption, your progress is preserved exactly where you left it.
Automatic Close Utility: I have added a new "Auto-Close" toggle button. When enabled, JAM will automatically close the program the precise moment your active download queue reaches completion, allowing you to run heavy batches overnight.
Library Management - Bulk Status Toggle: I have added a new button to the Library interface. You can now manually set or remove the "Already Downloaded" status for any chapter with a single click. This gives you absolute control over your library organization, making it easier to track your reading progress across different platforms or manual imports from other tools.
Plugin Updates & New Additions
Plugin Fixes: I have successfully resolved stability and parsing issues for:
Kagane
Mangafire
Mangago
New Plugin Additions: I am also happy to announce support for two new websites:
Note: Support for this new site is currently limited to public, free-to-read chapters. In line with JAM development policies, there is no support for pay-walled or premium-only content.
Every single update, from the core code refactoring to the expansion of our plugin library, is made possible because of your continued support. JAM continues to evolve into a more powerful, reliable, and user-friendly tool because of the feedback and encouragement I receive from this community. Thank you once again to all my supporters on Patreon ❤ I hope you enjoy these new features and look forward to hearing your feedback!
