Part 3 of the series... this is more of a part 2.1 really, as the oscillator episode has turned into 3 separate videos... it was getting so long and the memory on my laptop couldn't cope with all the video files and edits!

This one is more of a description than tutorial, but it does demonstrate the differences between slop and detune etc demoing on U-He's DIVA amongst others.  It gives a nice overview of why there are VCO diehard fans.

I'm uploading a slightly edited version of this to youtube as well, as its pretty much a standalone video, and I get quite. a few questions re VCO , DCO etc. Hopefully it'll also help to bring more patrons on board!

Cheers.

Great stuff, looking forward to the next one.

These videos have encouraged me to get spectrum analyzer and oscilloscope apps on my iPad and play with these concepts on my Roland FA-06 and its "SuperNatural" synth engine. It's helped me identify which variations of the basic waveforms most closely match a classic synth like a MiniMoog. Adding a little "Analog Feel" (Roland's name for slop) really does make the raw sawtooth sound way more pleasing when played polyphonically. Great tips!
