the Focusrite 18i8 is great, but sometimes I wish I had some compressors to hand.  I've been loaned this to take a look at; top class preamps with built in FX.  like a vintage console in a single rack unit.

Thought I'd make a video demoing it... but its taken so long!! I've been regretting it :)  everything that could go wring went wrong... leads falling out, batteries dying, forgetting to press record aaarrghh!!

I need to start a boxset!!

Antelope Discrete 8 Synergy Core Interface: review and demo

Review and Demo of Antelope Audios Discrete 8 Synergy Core, part of their current excellent offering including the Zen Tour and Orion Studio. Amazing preamps and top class built in FX using its onboard DSP. A Grade interfaces.

Very good question Bruce!!! The Apollo seems to be even more pricy than the Antelope. I need to check out what my priorities are with the budget and what I really need.

As far as preamps are concerned, they’re nice but it wouldn’t sway me. I was planning on doing something more live while I had it on loan, but obviously it’s not possible. If you need 8 mic inputs it’s definitely worth considering, but not really for synths.
