To me, the story is just too fantastical. I hope some of it is true, but I just don't believe it before we have any concrete anything.

Also, the DoD is not confirming anything by saying what he can and cannot tell us, what they are doing is saying, "yes, this is something you can say without breaking any laws." Which is not a confirmation. Another thing, a technological cold war against who? The Russians, the same Russians that are losing against Ukraine? A cold war against the UK? Germany? Italy? All those nations are close military allies with the US. The only one country that almost makes sense is China, and they first started having real power after the Korean War.
