Burden - Human and Faery Form (Patreon)

So I shared all my ideas with my publisher and for the current deal I am under, AWAY WITH THE FAERIES was the idea they felt best made sense to do. So I am working in earnest on that now! Which is great - I think my Victorian ghost detectives and my furry fantasy stories will happen one day too but they are bigger beasts that require a lot more research. Away With the Faeries, I can jump straight into.

To reacquaint you all with the story - it is about a faery called Burden who runs away to the human world and encounters a human called Tom. It's basically The Little Mermaid meets the Wicker Man. It's my most sincerely ROMANTIC story ever, with the romance between the two boys being the focus of the book, rather than just a subplot.

It's also based entirely on growing up in Glastonbury, a small town in the UK which is home to many sights of importance for Wiccans, Pagans and the like. I grew up among these communities and have never really been able to write about it fully. And growing up as queer in a place like this is certainly interesting. Beneath the surface of these seemingly liberal worlds, you often find a nasty streak of conservatism. And sometimes natural healing and the like, is just another word for anti-vax. I wanna write about the nuances of this world.

So expect a lot of AWAY WITH THE FAERIES content from now on, along with the other books on my slate: GO-MAN 2 and PANTHEON 2. And that's only a small sample of what I'm working on atm.
