Here we go again. Every year I seem to revisit two things when it comes to redesign challenges - Superman and Fakemon. And it’s that time again where I feel like designing a bunch of Pokemon (I wonder why??)

Over the years, I’ve designed well over 200 beasties but I’ve never felt satisfied with a full gen’s worth of them. But I’d love to give it a go properly. But unlike last time, I think I’m gonna do several drafts of them before unleashing them on the world. And this is where you come in!

Here are my ideas for the starts in my fake Pokemon Generation. And I’d like your feedback about things that are working / not working before I finish them. So here goes!

  • Fawni, this ram-like creature is incredibly chill. It likes to have small Pokemon nestling in its bush-like coat. It hums lullabies to them. This region is based on Greece and eventually this creature will turn into a Pan-like fawn character who plays tunes on its flute-like horns.
  • Mootar, this cow-like creature is protective of its bell that it can use to control fire. It’ll evolve into a Minotaur like creature. I like its overall design but I dunno if it really fits with the others, and it seems a little lacking in personality. But as is tradition, I’ve made sure it fits into the Chinese zodiac.
  • Pakadamp, this is a fakemon I’ve used in the past and I liked it enough to bring back. It doesn’t EXACTLY go with the Greek themeing but when have starters even done that perfectly? It evolves into a Water/Fighter big elephant that looks a bit like a fire truck.

Let me know what you think! You can tell me your fave, but I’m looking for constructive design feedback.

I love these! Fawni is a stunner and would definitely be my pick! Pakadamp is a super cute idea, but it has a little less decoration on it than the other two. Its early days I know, but I wanted something constructive to say!

Pakadamp is my favorite! It's a simple, clean design that really gets the point across. I'm picking that one! <3

Adorable! I am normally always choose grass or water, but Mootar is so cute, I could see myself picking them. Only thought is that the name could have a fire pun. Like Moogma for Flamoo
