At last! Love it gals!

One of my Pops' favorites, he was only 17 when Apollo 11 happened. There's a History Buff video which also explores the initial stages of the Space Race. This is one of those movies which, even with its dramatizations, still respects the spirit of the true story.

Great reaction, great movie, lovely ladies! The worst tragedy I know of in the American space program was the Challenger explosion, I'm old enough to remember that, it was horrible, all over a tiny defect and oddly cold temperatures for Florida, and a bad decision to go ahead with the mission because they were worried the cameras wouldn't wait if they delayed the mission. There are rumors that the Soviet space program had several disasters but they covered them up, we'll probably never know, but there were a couple of brothers in Italy who were like amateur radio enthusiasts or something and allegedly tuned in and recorded audio of the failed re-entry and death of a female Soviet Cosmonaut. I think the recording is still on Yt, it's terrifying. On a brighter note, love this movie, crazy true story with thankfully a happy ending. AND it's one of my favorites of Tom Hanks and one of the best of the director Ron Howard's. Ron Howard has made a lot of great movies, they're usually pretty family friendly but still really entertaining, movies like: Willow, fantasy movie, you guys should definitely watch that, Parenthood, is funny, with a very young Keanu Reeves and Joaquin Phoenix, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, Frost/Nixon, that's not even half.

That's true, the Columbia accident was horrible. Space is even more intimidating than the ocean, even terrifying, and we don't know shit about that either lol, but respect to those that take the chance to venture out there. Fun fact, I went to high school with an astronaut, Victor Glover, he was a year or two ahead of me and I didn't know him but I did know some of his friends. Second fun fact, my math teacher for freshmen Geometry and sophomore Algebra 2, John Watson, murdered his wife and allegedly ate some of her.
