Frozen 2 doesn't live up to the original. I don't like some of the story choices made. I've discounted it in my personal head canon. In my head canon, it didn't happen.

Amazing that you guys hadn't seen this yet! I was genuinely surprised to find that I liked the story so much when I first saw it, mostly because my grandmother and her sister's parents drowned on a boat in a lake in the 1920s so they were orphans like them. Plus my grandfather is of Danish heritage. I also could relate to Else and Anna's relationship as kids being much closer than as adults. My relationship with my brother was similar where we hardly interacted between the ages of 17 - 30 and weren't sure if we even liked each other but then later that changed.

This was a GREAT ONE of 2013! Elsa's situation reminded me of X-Men, another mutant person afraid of her powers and having no control over them and people being afraid of her too. I always imagine she needed Professor Charles Xavier cause I know he definitely would've helped her no problem like all the others and be an excellent father figure to her as well.
