I watch as Zant jumps off the stacked pillows and also leaves without offering to split the bill. And this sort of exact behavior is the reason why I will always try to get the best possible stuff during negotiations with that huge household pest.

When the waitress comes, I pay for everything with my hard earned shards. Then I start talking out loud to seemingly myself, not caring about the looks I get from the attendees around me.

“Ruby, if you are listening, I would like to invite myself to your fancy I-don't-know-what-it's-called space.”

I almost don't finish the sentence before I appear there, sitting on a wooden chair opposite of her beyond her trusty old table.

“Do Rulers have so much free time?” I ask.

“Perhaps.”

“I won't ruffle your hair, you are nowhere as cute as Zant.”

“Tsk. What do you want?”

“You have trained under Lissandra, haven't you? I want to ask why I feel so weird. My body is close to fully healed, if you exclude the evolutions and such, but I dealt with worse, so I will deal with them too. But my mind. It is like I have to concentrate to just be me. If I stop, I feel myself losing all the emotions, and… I don't know, it's all weird.”

“Well, do you know how long you spent in her thought acceleration?”

“Probably a bit over a year, right?”

Ruby chuckles and taps on the table where I put my hand. She touches the back of it, examining me. “Five hundred ninety-nine days.”

“Oh.”

“Nathaniel.”

“Yes, Ruby?”

“I know you a little bit, so I'm confident I guessed right, but are you annoyed about not having lasted one more day?”

“Perhaps.”

She flings my hand away, resting back in her chair. “Simply said, you are mentally exhausted and tired. Don't try to find anything else in that. You possess a concentration type skill, so you have a great predisposition to have a powerful mind. That's why you never experienced it before. But this time, you pushed yourself too much, and of course, that imitation allowed it. You know she wouldn't mind pushing you to the point you would break, right?”

“I mean… yeah. I agreed to it, and it was my decision. Why would I blame her for that?”

“… Of course you would think like that. So, my recommendation is for you to take it easy for a few days at least. I mean, you can fight, train a bit, and it will possibly help you to absorb what you have experienced, but just keep it at… thirty to fifty percent effort for about a week. And actually, I have the right kind of quest. It is ten days long, and the start of it will allow for all of that.”

“That sounds interesting, tell me more, and I'll decide.”

“It is the thousand year quest I mentioned before.”

“Meaning a quest that no attendee completed successfully in a thousand years. That sounds indeed relaxing, just as the doctor ordered.”

“It can be a bit less, 970 years or so, but a thousand years sounds better. But yes, relaxing, so are you interested? I think you will enjoy it.”

“I'm getting more and more suspicious of you.”

She smiles at that, but after that smile weakens, she says, this time with a more serious voice, “I think it will be good for you, and you will want to go there. Of course, it is dangerous, and if you become careless, you will die. Actually, it is very dangerous. You won't be able to trust people there that much, and some will actively try to kill you, take advantage of you, scam you, and so on. Others will hope to watch you burn and die.”

“But?”

“But as I said, I think it will be good for you. And one more piece of info that might make you more interested: the last person who completed this exact quest almost 1000 years ago was Adrian.”

I don't say anything, but Ruby smiles once again. “I see you have become a bit more interested. To explain it to you the way you like: ten days. You and another attendee, a fresh S-rank. The objective is to win the games organized by the Halcyon Trust Corporation, which includes people from within the galaxy where they are located. Mostly talents on the brink of becoming a Champion, Champion and Absolute candidates or disciples of Champions and Absolutes, and others. Even though the Halcyon Trust is nowhere close to the Aurate Consortium, they are quite rich, so the rewards should be decent enough.”

“So you are saying that to get a rest for a week or so, I should go into a deadly game against soon-to-be Champions and other assholes that, as you said, might try to kill me, scam me, or take advantage of me?”

“It will make more sense once you are there. I'm hiding something to see your surprised expression later. If you don't agree, they will call in some other S-ranks. At this point, taking talents from the Beyond is kind of a tradition of the games and you got lucky with the timing.”

“Sure. Well, I agree then.”

“Is it because of learning that Adrian won it?”

“Just send me there.”

“Good luck then! I might come to watch!”

Then, as always, I feel a pull on myself and try to observe. Even now, I am unable to do anything against her forced teleportation that entirely ignores all my defenses and natural barriers. Sometimes she uses a portal in the shape of a door, and sometimes she just moves me, and I think it doesn't matter. It's all on a whim. I suspect there is always some sort of stable portal, like the door, but sometimes she just teleports me through it without me seeing it, making it feel like she just teleported me. That sort of stuff.

But musing over all that she told me, I think I already know who the attendee, the fresh S-rank joining me, will be.

Ruby is indeed a very shrewd woman. And that is confirmed as I appear in a luxurious room with a huge glass window open to the desert beyond, with a beautiful green oasis in between the dunes. Beyond that oasis, I see multiple huge towers that seem to be made of metal and glass, and the air is full of floating islands, airships, and spaceships.

The person who is already there is my sister, Victoria. Judging by the micro-changes of her expression, which I know better than my own face, she was already informed about my state. My suspicion grows more as she greets me through all this with a smile and a long hug, then gestures for me to sit and join her near a small table.

“I have heard of your state, Natty, so you will be taking it easy for a week and letting me take care of most things. I want to hear no objections.”

And the only answer I can come up with is, “Yes, Vic.”

POV Tess Hansen

One of the Champions on the fifth floor is dead, and Lyraen killed it. I don't think any of us had a chance to do it without him, not even with all of us combined. Even though most of us served as a distraction for a few seconds so Lyraen had time to attack, two people died from the front ranks, and more, such as Lily and Jean, got hurt pretty badly.

But the plan was too good, and everything went according to it. It got a bit expensive because of the single-use items the Silent Veil brought.

My attacks and lightning are still not comparable to what Lyraen did, and even if I do realize there is a difference between the two of us, I don't like it. But my likes and dislikes do not matter right now as I move from person to person, answering questions that sometimes come up, blaming me, us, the people from Earth.

As if what happened after the Champion died is my fault.

As if it were me who gave Tacita the information on the time when we would attack, so she could steal the key right after.

POV Dennis Dalton

(Wow! I've never seen a mind like yours! It seems a bit similar to mine, but so different at the same time!)

(Huh? Who is there talking to me?)

(Hi! I'm Spark! Marble wants to join the conversation. Can I let him in?)

(What? Why? Look, Spark, you shouldn't just barge into people's minds, it is rude. And scary. I think you could kill me if you wanted.)

(I could! But I just talk and make friends. I wouldn't hurt you for no reason, nor invade your privacy. If you think so, I'm sorry!)

(I think it is okay, I heard a bit about you. And about Marble.)

(That's good! He is a bit grumpy, but a decent guy. I will let him in. Marble, say hello to…)

(Dennis and Aaron.)

(To Dennis and Aaron!)

(I apologize for Spark and his behavior, so please ignore him for now. I would like to know the skill you used to do what you did to your mind. In exchange for that, I offer three possible rewards.)

(Eh, go on?)

(The first one is the number of people who...)

POV Kim Min-Jae

The Adjudicator crashes into Maya, who surrounds herself in her tricolored [Armament] while choosing a dagger. Seeing that she is going all out, I do as well, twisting the gravitational energy around her and attempting to squeeze the Adjudicator. My mana drains quickly, and my eye throbs painfully, but the body is ridiculously powerful.

Maya gets thrown away, and the Adjudicator turns to rush at me, but with a [Boost], Maya barely reaches her and sends them both rolling. Finally, my attack pierces through, and one of the Adjudicator's arms explodes, only to regrow before the pieces of flesh and blood even fall to the sand. As Maya switches to gauntlets, they fight, and the hot air of this floor evaporates the blood.

Swiftly, I switch to slowing our opponent down instead, giving Maya an opportunity to compound more of her attacks, which start stacking as each subsequent one does more and more damage.

Meanwhile, I lift tons of sand and spin them around both of them, increasing the speed further and further and sending streams of it at the Adjudicator every time she presses Maya too hard. The sand moves with such force and speed that it throws her off balance and even causes her slight damage, like some sort of sandpaper.

But I know we have no chance. Izzy, Noodle, Sophie, and Blackie are still in the cave, far away from here, and everyone else is in the Beyond. I already severed our connection, using the method Sophie developed to make it impossible to track us. With the Adjudicator here, the Corporation controlling her should have more people around. And both Maya and I are of the same mind: we can't allow that.

I have no illusions that we would be able to defeat what seems like a distant clone of one of the Rulers. Sophie could escape to Beyond, but Izzy? I owe her too much to be that kind of person.

"This way!" Maya shouts, even though her voice sounds cold because of the [Focus] she is in.

She is already running in one direction, and the Adjudicator follows behind her. They exchange a few attacks, and I pull down one of the huge rocks I always try to leave floating high in the air, thanks to a mix of inscriptions, special crystals, and my energy. Its consistency is mostly metal, with its core being made of something akin to tungsten that I planted there.

I do a quick calculation and pull as hard as I can, allowing it to pick up a lot of speed. Then, when it's almost there, I make it so it's pulled directly towards the Adjudicator.

Maya, hearing the sound of it, boosts herself further, and the rock slams against our opponent, hitting her directly and squashing her to a pulp, as well as sending a huge shockwave outwards that blows away tons of sand.

In the next second, another shockwave ripples through it, and the Adjudicator is out, her body fully restored.

I increase my flight speed even further, seeing the cave Maya is heading towards, making a last attempt to ensure that gravity doesn't influence the woman in the torn, black, one piece suit. I pass by her as her legs fail to find purchase and she levitates a little, but I know it's just a question of time.

"I can fly us," I quickly tell Maya as I reach her.

"It won't work, they already placed marks on us," she answers, grabbing my hand and pulling me as we head into the cave. The sword in her hand grows in size as she swings it to destroy the ceiling, burying us inside.

"What-" I don't get to finish as we reach what looks like a long shaft, the bottom of which I can't even sense, but I recognize that feeling instantly.

It is one of the many entrances to the Labyrinth of Xyphos. And then it all makes sense.

"Are you crazy?" I manage to get out. A wave of fear washes over me as I remember all the information we gathered about it.

"There is no way any of us can defeat that thing outside. Not even if the entire group goes against her. Maybe Nathaniel, if he were here. But the best we can do is run." Maya's face is calm, and I know she made a decision with that cold logic of concentration skill users, but still...

"I already sent a message in the Community chat, so the others will know. We will get separated, so try looking for an exit, after which we will find each other through the Community, or find a good place to spend the rest of the tutorial. In the worst case scenario, try to see if you can get a quest and enter the Beyond," she says.

For a moment after she says it, her eyes turn to look towards where the Adjudicator is, already bulldozing through the fallen rock. It might just be me, but Maya seems angry.

"If we were a bit stronger, right? Good luck to both of us." Maya smiles at me and then rushes forward. Grabbing my hand, she leaps into the shaft, pulling me with her. I let myself fall just as the rocks behind us explode and the Adjudicator lunges.

The fall isn't even that long, and just a few seconds later, I find myself at the bottom. Alone.

Just like the Labyrinth during the tournament, this one also has a ceiling made of smooth red rock imbued with white crystals that emit light. The walls are made of a pure, stunningly smooth gray stone, as is the floor.

The place I find myself seems to be half a mile wide and multiple miles long, with multiple entrances to tunnels in the distance. The light here is calm, like the last light of the day, and grass covers the floor alongside multiple small lakes and many trees. It looks as unearthly as it is pretty.

Something moves at the edge of my vision, and I turn around, gathering mana to fight it. My heartbeat can be felt somewhere in my throat, and sweat gathers on my forehead.

That something is blurry, as if I'm looking at it through wild water, and it emits a gentle light itself.

I try to read the text floating over it.

[F∞e - lvl ℵℶℷ]

An instant later, my body plummets, slamming into the ground. My head spins so fiercely that I can't make out a thing. Trembling, I lift a hand and press it over my eyes, trying to force the dizziness away.

Then a voice speaks to me, "All good, Kim?"

"I don't know," I answer.

When I look up, he’s standing there, his brown hair messy as always, grinning down at me.

"Kim, my bud, I swear if it weren't for me, this tutorial would eat you alive. Well, assuming that burrito-ass corgi didn't do it first. You guys might find him cute, but I’m telling you, he looks at us like we're snacks for later. Honestly? I think Nathaniel is worrying for nothing. That corgi is probably eating the Rulers right now and solving all our problems for us."

"Sure," I chuckle and take his offered hand as he pulls me up to stand. "Come on, let's look for a way to get back to Maya."

I pause, my eyes drawn to the empty air ahead.

"A bit longer and I will have to stick out a few fingers and ask you to count them for me," he says, stepping up to my side.

"I just thought I saw something," I say with a shake of my head. "Sorry, Kevin. I shouldn't be letting myself get distracted. Not here."

"It's okay, buddy. I've got your back."

Author's note: I made a small change to the previous chapter. Zant's head got buffed and it isn't as small as an orange anymore. It is bigger, though I didn't specify how big. I leave that up to your imagination!

Tron

I finally caught up!

Nerø

EARLY CHAPPY!

Nemesis

I knew it had to be Vic the moment she said it was a duo with a fresh S-rank!

stable table

You've been teasing Kim getting bad stuff happen for a while, curious to see how this plays out.

Nemesis

On a related topic, I don't think we've seen a chat between Ruby and Vic yet. There's no way they haven't already had a polite 'chat' right, considering how important Nat is to both of them? 😉

Jake Flemming

Kevin is the guy lily accidentally killed on the 1st floor right?

Levi

Whomst the fuck is Kevin?

Sammot

Tftc!

Sammot

How long does lyraen have left in tutorial again?

Max Vidal

Daaaaaaamn what a chapter. The plot twist ! Things are getting... interesting !

androide

Guy with [Reflection] skill that Lily [Disintegrated] by mistake at the end of Floor 1

Seijax

Fucking Tacita XD

Nerø

Oh damn. Kevin? Really?

Nemesis

Did Kim just see garbled text that indicated he was looking at a Fae!? Is the Labyrinth of Xyphos where the Fae have hidden themselves? Or maybe the system turned them into the Labyrinth...

Nemesis

I think he is similar to Morwag and Nyssa, maybe just slightly longer?

Fdrugc

Why that galaxie? Also is level 321 good?

I Is Patron

Did a copy of a fairy just mind fuck Kim into imagining Kevin is there with him?

Nemesis

It was absolutely Lily who spilled the beans to Tacita, wasn't it?

Name

Foreign languages one doesn't speak can be iffy but setting that thing's level the equivalent of "cba" is bothering me.

Levi

Training Arc = completed Tournament = registered Oh yeah, now it's time for Nats aura farming Arc

Seijax

Sounds like she just stole the mark before he could claim it from the corpse. Great use of her skillset, and glorious against Lyraen when you remember that he likes to dabble in stealthy-ness too

Sammot

Oh i thought nyssa had a while longer than morwag, who'll go any day now

Name

This is not the first time I see the Ancient Aramaic letters used as if it were some Gibberish. This letter system isn't dead.

Thien T

Poor Lyrean, not only does this guy have to deal with like 200 wives back home but he also keeps getting played like a fiddle. First it was Brich yoinking that Ego Sword and now it's Tacita snatching his hard earned Key right underneath his nose. [F∞e - lvl ℵℶℷ] [Fae - lvl aleph.bet.3]? Nat leaves for a while to buy milk and things immediately go to shit for group 4. Will Kim overcome the mind manipulations of jewish fey scammers on his own or will Nat arrive once more to save the day? Stay tuned on the next episode of Draggin Ba-

ariel maoz

ok, so min jae encountered a fae, one of the original races of the universe that vanished during the war, by the looks of things it is level greater infinity WARNING: HALF BAKED BERY REDUCED EXPLANATION BELOW WITH JUNKINESS OF RTL LANGUAGE א0 means normal infinity, א1 is bigger and so on ב0=א0 But ב1=2^א0 ב2=2^ב1 Etc ג is a whole new can of worms which is not really comparable ( Something in cardinal arithmetics, of someone knows more please elaborate ) So basically i think the level of the fae is 2^א0 Which for all normal purposes is just an error by the system but just incase it isn't... Anyway so the fae managed to take a memory of kevin and infiltrated it while giving him new memories, if it's convincing enough, maybe the reason all think the fae are gone is because they "turned" to be other races Another possibility, the brief interaction between the fae and the system is what created the mind bending skills

John

Early Chappie😍

Nate El

May the Odds be ever in your favor.

Andrew

Thank you!

Adrian Rake

This was an interesting chapter. 🙂👍

XP_TOPshelf

Jewish fey scammers got me👌👌

tyhuko

TFTC! Great job Taci!

Alex

I refuse to resd the whole chapter. Ruby trying to get headpats ended me already. Peak chappy.

Wandering Reader

I reject your reality and choose to believe that she shanked Mr. Hundred Wives

Terri Harris

Almost 2yrs time dilation. Thats epic! Once Nat adjusts he should totally be low champion level. With his two primordial energies, fragment, black mana, upgraded mana vessel body, preeminence eyes, Ichor blood, various split minds, and at this point, years of extra training... its weird, but I feel like I'm still missing a few. Biscuit of course, and various friends and powerful connections. He's become a top tier savage and is still running downhill fast. I really love watching him grow. Super cool. The other points of view give a deeper feel to the whole thing that definitely makes the story loads more fun. Tftc!

frozzi

I wonder if fae levels supposed to be some mystical untranslatable gibberish, or Cerim knows how the Hebrew alphabet works and its just mere level 123 If its latter then Min jae has some garbage mental defence:(

Gardor

Oh, that makes a lot more sense, for some reason i read the garbled system identifier as "foe". Which just seemed too vague.

Rene Duvall

Man I really wanna stack chapters but its so damn difficult

ami berger

In hebrew gimetry א=1 ב=2 and ג=3 so the level can be 321 or 123 but i got to say it isnt how you write 321, if you wanted 321 you would use ש=300 כ=20 and א=1 so שכא

Konrad Pagacz

I think it's Tess who then used the amazing skill of delusion of hers on herself to convince herself she didn't.

Nemesis

Don't forget, Google exists and Cerim surely has access to it

Konrad Pagacz

I kind of feel cheated out of the finale of the Nyssa vs Nat duel... But maybe Nat aura farms the tournament, adjusts to his new power level and curb stomps both Morwag and Nyssa.

Gardor

Whats the "labyrinth of xyphos"? This isnt the same as the place that Nathaniel let the demon take over, i dont think? They're on a tutorial floor, and from that tutorial floor they can enter another "dungeon", which they've encountered on other tutorial floors? Is it...instanced? Like every tutorial floor creates the same level for each individual group, and then Beyond is "live". Im assuming Xyphos is also "live"? Side note: If Beyond is live, how is there a repeatable quest?

Nemesis

Lol, the 'Perhaps' bickering between Nat and Ruby. I missed it at first, but then I remembered last chapter 🤣. They are adorable!

Nemesis

Is Vic... maybe one of Ruby's weapons? Maybe Ruby is Vic's handler? She probably has enough potential to garner Ruby's attention. Lissandra willingly named her an Absolute Candidate without prompting, and we know how high her standards are...

Nemesis

Oh, maybe. We know Tess really wanted that key. I had forgotten that fact. She may have struck a deal and then erased her memory to make it convincing...

Tyler Engelke

The fae probably just doesn't have a system quantifiable baseline. I find it relatively hard to believe a random joe schmoe is just god, because we've already seen that powerful characters are able to deduce they're in the tutorial.

Isaac Lung

Why aren’t Tess and Lyraen fighting if he’s still alive then

blaw

This current quest is a recuring tournament, so the participation is an easily repeatable quest. The other stuff is imho more like compareable achievements and not exactly the same quest in itself. Even if a lot in beyond does reset, it seems to always change a bit and never is the exact same quest. E.g. ever dead champion on floor 5 is replaced by a new champion, but not a copy of the fallen one, or everyone has to create a different safe zone on floor 3.

AL

I am lost. Which key are you guys talking about?

Blooper

Once a champion from floor 5 dies, only one person might claim a key to the 6th floor, which becomes a tattoo in their body if I remember it right.

Schmidt

I thought they talked at the party where nat met zant and threw someone off the balcony for him?

Max Vidal

Can someone remind me about the Labyrinth of Xyphos please? Can't find the chapter where it is mentioned so I could re read about it.

Ivan Jelenić

Fae training arc for Min Jae incoming?

Matthew Hay

If the quest is to win the tournament and none have done so since Adrian, then it'd be the same quest...? Or are you just talking about the fact the participants in the tournament would be different?

Ivan Jelenić

Because Tacita is not Group 4. And Tess doesn't know who told her.

Ivan Jelenić

Level 321 is very weak compared to Nat. Only genious 1 in a quadrillion people lvl 321 could measure up to him.

Melih

Chapter 584 (Book 7) The 4th event - Avatar's Gauntlet will start in 12 hours. Everyone participating will be moved to the Great Labyrinth of Xyphos. All participants will be randomly placed throughout the Labyrinth, the paths will be littered with countless traps, each presenting a threat all its own. Each trap may be defused in a number of ways, giving each attendee a chance to bypass, destroy, or avoid it entirely. At the same time, the Great Labyrinth of Xyphos will create an Avatar for every person who enters. These Avatars will also be placed randomly within the Labyrinth and will hunt the people invading it. Chapter 588 (Book 7) The Labyrinth of Xyphos is a real place that exists outside of the tutorial, something I heard about in Beyond. Chapter 806 (Book 10) Floor Quest: Xyphos is best known for its Labyrinth, an ancient structure built long ago by unknown hands for purposes that remain a mystery. The planet is also one of the few places in the known systems where Talnium can be harvested, a rare and highly coveted resource. Three major corporations, along with numerous independent organizations, are constantly clashing for control of its harvest. Some attempt to establish legitimate mining operations, while others rely on smuggling networks and covert strikes to secure their share. Your objective is to obtain half a packet of Talnium and ensure it is successfully transported off Xyphos. Chapter 838 (Book 10) "I already have a heart in mind," Lissandra says. "One I'm confident will fit me very well." Briefly, a small smile flickers in her eyes. "Once I'm out of the tutorial, I will head to the Labyrinth of Xyphos. I was there once, not long before Eladore fell. Because of the way that place functions, my Avatar is still in there, along with my new heart."

Gardor

Oops this was meant to be a response to a comment, gonna delete it eventually. It makes slightly more sense in context.

Gardor

I was thinking more about how the "beyond quests" seem to be in the "real world", i.e. they mention beyond attendees competing in this tournament implying the rest of the people arent in the tutorial/beyond. So even tho Adrian was the last person to complete this quest, it hasnt been the SAME quest for 1000 years.

J W

The rulers have some control over the beginning floors of beyond. That's how they reset most basic quests like the fishing etc.

Ben Jaffee

The third character is gimel, the 3rd letter in the Hebrew alphabet.

Gardor

Hmm this is just occuring to me, but: rulers probably have less control over beyond than they do everywhere else, right? Like, theyre nigh omnipotent dieties in the rest of the universe, the only thing preventing them from rearranging beyond to their whims is stuff that was hard coded into an early version of the system. And other rulers being nearby. If they wanted to make a time loop planet, they could MAKE a time loop planet, i feel like. Im saying it doesnt seem like theyre relying on the tutorial and/or beyond to have the power to do things, rather they're constrained from doing things in the tutorial and/or beyond.

J W

It made it seem like tutorial beyonders are unwillingly (when no one gets the quest) invited to the event when it happens, to compete against other competitors and this time the Gwyn's got a quest which a beyonder hasn't completed in nearly 1000 years.

ariel maoz

Unfortunately, i don't think so, tess declared everyone dead, sophie got her mind broken, izzy saw her sister in a coma, biscuit is gone, dennis lost aaron and lily disintegrated kevin, the only two without major trauma event are min jae and maya, and I'm afraid it's coming for them

Max Vidal

Awesome thanks a lot !

jobe matula

who the heck is KEVIN ? lol.🤣 I feel like im supposed to know

Josh Betts

Damn a fae is useing a glamour on kim

Melih

A G4 member that Lily accidentally killed on floor 1 while uncontrollably using [Disintegration] to survive against the Cinderbear. He was Kim Min-Jae's best friend. He was a funny guy... Also, Nat largely obtained [Kinetic Redistribution] by observing Kevin's [Reflection]. If it weren't for him, Nat might not have been able to obtain [Redistribution]

Val the mysterious Jedi

Probably not, ruby is using Nat as a weapon, Vic wouldn't like that but she understands its Nat choice

Lucas Colomines

I believe in math these symbols can also represent levels of infinity...

Jared F

Or it’s level 3,2,1 (Gimel Bet Aleph)

Matt

Kims friend that got killed early on towards the end of floor 1

jordicl

Probably a Fae, the fucked up version of a Fairy.

Heraclitus

Rest in peace you magnificent orange headed god.

YaBoiiSloth

That's probably the fae inserting itself into his memories as Kevin

KDR

I think Morwag’s tutorial will be over by the time Nat finishes this quest unfortunately, but I feel like we’re almost guaranteed a Nat vs Nyssa part 2

Hms

Does that mean Kim is going through what Russel Crowe did in a beautiful mind with an imaginary friend or did he get the real Kevin’s mind as a reward or something. Maybe something connected to Lily’s disintegration when she erased Kevin on the first floor? Or maybe this is just linked to that weird fae and he just encountered and I am reading too much into this since crazy crap usually happens and owing Izzy was mentioned.

Nemesis

A random thought that came up from Ruby wanting Nat to rub her hair. If Nat's hand got caught rubbing her hair, could he accidentally pluck out a strand of hair? My thought was that the answer is probably 'no', her high constitution is probably so much higher than his strength that he most likely couldn't. That raises questions about the life cycles of cells, and how valuable even a strand of a rulers hair might be... 🤔

Joseph Serret

Isnt kevin his friend that lily disintegrated at the end of the first floor??? Damn. Kim is finally losing it

mulchymulcher

Vic is very lissandra like. Ruby should get along with her.

DeadbearKill

I feel like you’re reaching. She was being sarcastic in the pov. She obviously told Taci and got her to agree to steal it. No memory funny business involved. No declaration needed.

granndfunk

Maybe it's a dual thing? Nat and Vic vs everyone else, which is why Ruby thought it would be fun?

xlejdez.

Yeah she does, Morwag will leave before Nat comes back from that tournament (and he still wants to challenge 13th hell diff floor). From what Nat's said this or last chapter Weslin is also nearing his deadline. I think Nyssa still has like between half to a whole year left. And Nat has around 1 year 230 days.

Kevin

The three symbols in place of a level are the first three letters of the Hebrew alphabet. I don’t think they have meaning beyond that the system can’t quantify this thing. I’m not sure what you were trying to say with your list of symbols. It would be really weird if Cerim started working in higher level mathematics about the different orders of infinity into his novel, so I’m pretty sure he didn’t do that.

Kevin

Is the labyrinth of Xyphos a creation of the system? Or is it older. Was it the Fae that created the labyrinth? Might make that place more unique than we know.

Kevin

Of all the people who died on floor one he is notable because he was talented, not slacking behind the others, and friends with min Jae. If he had survived he would probably be at least as strong as min Jae or Maya. He was suited for hell difficulty tutorial. Min Jae spent a good amount of time depressed and feeling angry at lily after he died. They were friends.

Kevin

It would be weird if he started working in the different levels of infinity. He could just be writing infinity several different ways but I think it’s just supposed to represent random jargon. From what google told me, only two of those symbols sometimes represent infinity. When they do, I think you would include number subscripts to signify which order of infinity is denoted.

Youkai-sama

TACITA!? Loot-stealin? Really‽ *ugh*😩

Mitch

Fuck i need at least 15 more chapters. Story is so good

Yes i know, but I thought about it but it's not 123 or 321 because these are the numbers 1,2,3, just like writing ABC in the level, as i said I'm pretty sure it meant to symbolise error, but just incase it's not, no one was ever hurt from learning extra math

Thank you for the chappie!

Not only that, but Nat learned [Kinetic Redistribution] from studying Kevin's [Reflection] skill that reflected any attack.

Yep, Kevin probably should have had a larger and more memorable impact on the story due to his tragic death. I blame the fact that the 1st book was so long ago and that it had a different vibe. Not to mention immediately after, G4 were split up on Floor 2 - Eladore and the cast were a lot more strangers to each other.
