CHANDLER'S A GIRL! CHANDLER'S A GIRL!

SidekickSteph

Just worked a 13.5 hour day, where it’s negative 20 degrees, and had to go out into that cold several times. Then on the way home, my tire needed air, but the air pump I went to was broken, and it sucked more air out. An employee tried wrapping tape around the leak, but it was so cold the tape kept breaking 😢 we got enough in it for me to drive home and never leave now 😂 coldest 30 minutes of my life!! Came home, got warm and cozy, and Sofie drops a Friends reaction and made everything ok. 🙏

Stellar

I’ve never been this early! Wanted to say I bought a membership to your patreon and it is the first time I’ve ever bought a membership on here. Your content deserves it! Your reactions are so good. You’re so intelligent so I believe it makes for great reactions because you understand jokes, context, plot lines, things like that. You pay attention. Anyways thank you so much for these videos. You are appreciated! Your Friends reactions are the best I’ve seen. And I was so excited to see you did stranger things. I loved your Harry Potter reactions too. I just had to support you!

Been waiting for you to get to this episode of Phoebe giving birth for a long time, I knew you’d love it. Such a beautiful scene.

Monica trained Chandler to be the best she’s ever had, if you remember in season 4 😂 “7”

Jocelyn

i’m with rachel on this. i can’t ask one of my best friends brothers who i barely know if his sister can keep one of the triplets it’s just to weird for me.

C_Drew

Chandler took the SEVEN lessons to heart and I love how it came back around...and to Monica to boot. Somewhat of a self fulfilling prophecy

Jocelyn

i think this is the point where i can say i officially disliked emily. before anyone comes at me like sofie said her feelings are completely valid. if my husband to be said another woman’s name at the altar i’d be feeling all kinds of emotions but i’m not continuing my wedding!! especially since her and ross only knew each other for 6-8 wks before getting married like?? ross was doing everything to try to get back to her & she was ignoring him. then when she finally talks to him she’s scared of him & rachel being together when that’s the last thing on his mind.

Alile

I wish you could see how huge my smile is during your Friends reactions. And then how sad I look as soon as it’s over. 😂 49 minutes goes by too quickly! Sometimes I wish I hadn’t discovered your reactions for another year or so, then I could binge the entire series with you. I may have a problem. Anyone wanna start some kind of 12 step program/support group for those of us going through Friends reaction withdrawals? 😜

I am totally with you about Emily, Sofie! Her feelings are totally understandable and I don't blame her at all for feeling humiliated and mad. And in normal circumstances asking your partner not to see his ex anymore would sound reasonable, but in this case it is unsustainable as you said. Even if we don't consider that Ross and Rachel are best friends and each others lobsters, asking him not to see Rachel is either asking him not to see his sister and his other friends, or asking Rachel to move away from Monica and not see HER friends again. And I don't think it is Emily's place to decide if Monica wants to see her brother or if Rachel has to move away.

Ysu73

I just noticed that the second episode is about selfless good deeds that don't make you happy, and while that is Phoebe's story, the two characters who do a selfless thing and sacrifice that don't make them happy are Ross and Rachel. Rachel encourages Ross to do whatever he thinks he has to do to save his marriage, even though she just confessed two episodes ago she still loves him. And Ross tries to give anything to Emily to mend the relationship, even the biggest sacrifice he can have, to loose the woman he has loved since he was in 9th grade.

I find it interesting that when Ross tries to ask the Magic Ball to help him decide, he says he either keeps his wife and looses one of his best...friends (he pauses there a bit) or keeps his friend and _gets a divorce for the second time before he is thirty_. Not "loose my wife, the love of my life". I feel at this point it starts to become more about him being afraid of being divorced than about the love he has for Emily.

Monica and Chandler are so great. No notes. *puts my pretentious psych minor glasses on* Joey is right psychologically about no selfless deeds. Everything a person does is at least subconsciously linked to some survivalist instinct they have. Sometimes it's just feeling like a good person or erasing a bad feeling (guilt/charity link, or "I'll feel like a jerk if I don't do this thing I really don't wanna do."). Doing something with no benefits to self is not really in a person's makeup. The thing I found interesting about that little subplot is that Joey is usually the simplest character, and in this case him not overthinking something landed him on the more scientifically accepted (but not very nice to think about) conclusion about something. I feel like FRIENDS is doing what most shows do with the character who exists as an obstacle to the bigger romance, which is making Emily seem unfair and out of line. But I think after everything that's happened, asking him not to see Rachel isn't an unfair ask (it was unfair to ask him to leave America because of Ben, but she agreed with him as soon as he brought it up). Even the fact that Ross is going on one-on-one "friend" dates with the girl whose name he said at the alter proves that Emily's right. But I totally agree with you that it's unsustainable because of how present Rachel is in his life (she lives with Ross's sister like you said), and really they just need to break up. I'm still in the "Emily didn't deserve any of this" camp over caring about whether or not Ross and Rachel work things out.

You probably figured it out, but Fonzie is a character from the TV show Happy Days. I'm around the same age as the actors on Friends (slightly younger), and Happy Days was HUGE when we were kids in the 70s. I had a sweatshirt with Fonzie on it, with him saying, "Ayyyyyyyyyyyyy." If you've watched Scream, you would know Fonzie (Henry Winkler) as the principal at the school).

As early as the first episode of the show, Ross says, "I just wanna be married again." It could just be his own particular language on the topic and I'm reading too much into it. But I kinda sympathise with the view that Ross doesn't like being single and sometimes just having a relationship seems more important to him than who he is with. There are other things he says to that effect but for Sophie's sake I won't quote any just in case I accidentally stumble into spoiler teritory. [Edit] And the languege "get divorced for the second time before I'm 30." It's a clue that the appearence of having his life together is important and so he's more concerned about what a second divorce says about his life than the pain of actually losing someone he loves. Okay I'll stop with the armchair psychology, or whatever that expression is. 😄 No I'm not done [second edit] in all the time it took me to think about what I was typing, I forgot the second half of your post and kinda repeated what you said back at you. Gosh, I'm sorry. D'oh.

Randy Giles

Great observation! I never noticed that before.

I'm with Emily ... She left Ross and he tried to come back with her. At this point, if he wants to be with me, he will do it but with my conditions and his ex out of our lives is a normal condition at my eyes. And it is not only the wedding but he decided to go on their honeymoon with Rachel 🤣🤣 i find Emily pretty reasonnable with her knowledge of the situation.

Nina

wait a minute the male nurse who wanted to go out with Monica. Is that a very young Howard Hamlin??? 🤣🤣😍 And also Linda's ex from Lucifer...

Nina

Ross' hair looks so freakin good this season.

silverarrow06

Phoebe alone with the newborn triplets is easily the most beautiful and tender moment of the whole show...😍 Chandler and Monica are simply made for each other, every moment with them is so cute...🥰

Ashley

I see the doctor who wanted to go on date with Monica is the actor who played Linda's husband in Lucifer lol

Edo

It's a shortsighted reasonable condition. I'm with you, I would also say you cant see that person anymore after teh humiliation I suffered, but at the same time she's not trying to hear him out or build trust again in proper way. Ross F'd up for sure at the wedding and the honeymoon situation. But, Sofie's right when she said its just building a really bad foundation right at the start of your marriage.

Sid

And the Happy Days doctor is Bernard. 😉

Nina

yes, 😍 he didn't change all that much

juliet

Great reaction! Sofie, thank you for not deleting the rewinds. At least some of them. It's much appreciated 💜

Joffrey G

Yes i agree with u. I would never go further into a relationship with 2 humiliations in a row (altar and airport). I understand but in the case of a second chance, i understand Emily. Ross is the bad guy (but not aware) he will destroy Emily again if he didn't stay with her but we will see the évolution later (sorry for my bad writing ahah i'm french)

La Baanga

You might remember Phoebe's doctor from Angel where he played the top dog at Wolfram & Hart.

Rainbow

Monica coached Chandler the last season, i’m not surprised he’s the best xD

Randy Giles

I've seen him in a lot of shows and he always plays a jerk in every one, usually the antagonist. Better Call Saul, Veronica Mars, Saved by the Bell, etc.

Randy Giles

Yep, Patrick Fabian, who always seems to play the foil to one of the main characters in a lot of his roles.

Annie519

A fun fact, the moment when Ross hands Chandler the lamp after Emily finally called him back was improvised and no one, including David has any idea why he did that. He just randomly handed it Matthew, so Matthew's reaction was real. I love that they kept these moments in, it honestly made them and the show feel more real. And one other thing I need to mention, I love Chandler in green. I think it's a great color on him and season 5 is his best look to me, same with Ross.
