I have always understood Monica being competitive with Phoebe in this episode, because Phoebe just had to compare her new relationship with Gary to theirs. Why did she even bring them up? It's like she has to put down their relationship to make hers look so much better. I have always found her super annoying in this episode, actually I found her annoying most of the time when it came to making comments about Monica and Chandler's relationship. I mean, when she first found out about them she said she thought Monica could do better. I wish Phoebe got to hear what Chandler said in the bathroom because he was spot on and the icing on the cake was sweetly kissing her cheek. I will say too, I absolutely love how quickly he's maturing in their relationship and it is nice to see Monica freak out a little bit, it does show that she has insecurities too. As for the following episode, even though it was wrong of them to discuss work business during the smoke breaks and leaving Rachel out, I did appreciate them respecting the fact that Rachel didn't smoke. Like, they stepped away from her so she didn't have to breathe it in and later they wanted to her continuing with "quitting." I think a funny touch would have been at the end when Chandler takes a puff of her cigarette the brunette said "now I'm quitting." And I got to say too, I think it's super sweet that Chandler and Rachel go to lunch together and that Rachel was the one that knew Chandler's birthday was the next one. I think their friendship is underrated and it's overlooked.

Lol Chandler has the most random and strangest history with Rachel's employers. Also it's nice to see him maturing in this relationship enough to be the one to talk Monica off the ledge

You say corporate culture in the 90's, but the business smoking thing is unfortunately still very prominent in some countries... Went to uni in Paris in the late 2010's and everyone was vying for internships from the industry companies surrounding the school. And of course, those who smoked went out to share a cig with execs all the time and got the prestigious internships. Ashamed to say I did exactly what Rachel did. And now 7 years later, still trying to kick that damn poisonous habit, and I'm a Chandler when it comes to those death sticks. I need my own patch sisters I guess... Hoping to kick it this year! (Fingers crossed)

Joey and Chandler being Ben's godfathers? Did we forget when they lost him on the bus and you were questioning if they brought back another baby? I'm so glad smoking is getting banned in more and more places.
