Finding out who Chris is makes every single interaction of him and the others SO painful!! Like, I totally get them not trusting him, but imagine how painful that must be for him. But especially everything with Wyatt! His big brother killed his fiance after trying to kill him. It also makes that whole interaction in that episode make more sense. Why Wyatt was so upset at Chris' "betrayal" and why he wanted to give him a chance to join him instead of just immediately killing him. ("If anyone else tried what you tried, I'd kill them on the spot. But you?") I also feel like it makes Chris' behaviour make so much more sense. He's trying everything he can to protect his brother, but on multiple occasions his family have actively refused to take him seriously and he just can't fathom how anything could possibly be more important than all this. Plus, he has had to hide who he really is from his own family who don't like or trust him all that much...

I think when Chris came back he was more focused on fixing something and at the same time risking that he may not be born if things change.

No, Chris isn't stupid. Being Wyatt's little brother just wasn't his intended story line. They made it his story line sometime early on in season 6 when Holly Marie Combs announced to the producers of the show that she was pregnant. So they had to incorporate that into the story somehow. If I remember correctly from an interview, when she revealed her pregnancy, the producers said something along the lines of "You're a year late", to which she responded "No, you were early." So, technically, you didn't know. You made a false guess that eventually turned out to be true. ;) You can see in season 6 that his whole narrative changed. In season 5, he came back to prevent the Titans from killing the Charmed ones. When Leo told him that the elders decided not to send him back, he said "The timeline has changed. I wouldn't even know what I'd go back to." In season 6, though, there was no talk of the Titans. His mission was to prevent Wyatt from turning evil. He wouldn't have orchestrated for Leo to become an elder and he wouldn't have sent him to Valhalla. That would have been detrimental to his plan to safe Wyatt. But that wasn't his plan at first.

I mean, even if you don’t know the behind the scenes stuff, the lore upholds and Chris’ entrance made sense to me.

I don’t think Chris was stupid, I think when he first arrived he needed to become the girls whitelighter so for that he needed Leo as an elder out of the way. Then he was so focused on going after demons to keep Wyatt from turning evil that when he realized that Piper and Leo were separating and Piper starting to date other people he was like oh crap! You can see in previous episodes that he looked worried when Piper would go on dates or when she was giving up on love. In this episode he seems like he’s realizing that with all the changes that he’s done, he might have just screwed up his own birth so that’s why he’s more desperate and kind of more defeated too.
