Hey guys, I’m really sorry… I’m honestly losing my mind a bit trying to figure out what’s going on 😭

I thought I fixed the issue, but it just happened again with Friends and Charmed. At this point I’m not even sure if the problem is the SD card, the camera itself, or something else entirely, This never happened like this before.

I’m going to try my best to recover the footage, but the files are heavily corrupted this time… so there's a big possibility that they can't be recovered . If I can’t recover them, I’ll still upload the reactions of my mic audio + the episode so you at least don’t miss the content.

For now, I’m going to pause recording Attack on Titan and Gen V until I’m 100% sure the issue is fixed. I really don’t want to risk losing those videos too.

I’m truly sorry, I know this is frustrating… but trust me, I’m just as upset about it. Thank you so much for being patient with me while I figure this out 🤍

That must be very frustrating, I can’t even imagine trying to fix that. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Most Likely Issue: Failing or Fake SD Card This is the #1 cause of exactly what you’re seeing. Why it fits your situation: •Files record fine but become corrupted after → classic bad sectors •Happens across different videos (Friends, Charmed, etc.) •Getting worse over time •Recovery becoming harder/impossible Common scenarios: •Cheap or counterfeit SD card (very common online) •Card is worn out (they DO fail over time) •Card can’t handle your camera’s write speed 👉 Test: Try a brand new, high-quality SD card (SanDisk Extreme/Pro, Samsung Pro Plus). If the issue disappears → that was it. 🟠 Second Possibility: Write Speed / Buffer Issue If your camera records in high bitrate (4K, high FPS), a slow card can’t keep up. What happens: •Camera “thinks” it’s recording •Data isn’t written properly → corrupted files 👉 Check: •Does your card say U3 / V30 / V60 / V90? •If not, it may be too slow 🟡 Third Possibility: Camera Power Interruption If the camera: • Dies mid-recording • Overheats • Crashes Then files won’t finalize properly → corruption 👉 Ask yourself: • Did the camera shut off suddenly? • Battery low? • Overheating warnings? 🔵 Fourth Possibility: Removing Card Too Early If you: •Pull the SD card immediately after recording •Turn off camera too quickly The file may not finalize correctly. 🟣 Less Likely: Camera Hardware Failure Possible—but only if: •Happens with multiple SD cards •Happens consistently no matter what What You Should Do (In Order) 1. STOP using your current SD card immediately → You could make it worse 2. Buy a new, reliable SD card • SanDisk Extreme Pro (safe choice) • Samsung Pro Plus 3. Format the card inside the camera (not computer) 4. Do a test recording (10–15 min) • Then play it back on camera AND computer 5. Check your recording settings • If you’re shooting high quality, make sure card supports it

Don't stress about it, at the end of the day it's just content meant to be enjoyed, nothing needed or that disrupts anything. Take your time figuring things out and try not to worry too much, we'll be patient!

Sorry, Sophie. It’s so frustrating when this kind of thing happens and you can’t figure out how to fix it. Hopefully you can try filming a test thing with a different SD card. It sounds like faulty SD cards are often the main issue for corrupted video files. 🤞🏻

I hate tech issues, and they always seem to happen all at once, for me at least. Thanks for keeping us updated, and I hope things get easier and resolve for you soon!

Tech issues are the worst. I hope you get things figured out. Try not to stress about it.

Please don't lose your mind, Sofie...

I know it's a nightmare when you can't solve a problem like this or even figure out what's causing it. Try not to let the sense of pressure and urgency to get it done affect you on top of how frustrating it already is.

Lol that's ChatGPT, bro.

I Love AOC

My ChatGPT said it's probably the SD card, too.

Edo

Its ok, we understand this must be super stressful. I HATE tech issues myself. I hope you figure out the issue. I'm wondering if there's a possible backup recording failsafe you can do such as recording with your Phone on a tripod just so there's a backup in case this ever happens in the future? At least you'd have that and can post that if a file gets corrupted? Just trying to offer a friendly unsolicited suggestion T__T. I hope you can still enjoy your weekend somewhat!!

If it works, don’t knock it!

Ricardo B,

Sd card have limited read/writes. They go bad after so many writes, and given how often you record it likely wouldn't last more than a few months to a couple of years. And that's for quality brands. The camera would be less likely to be an issue.

Thomas

These things happen, if you have an opportunity sometime to purchase a camera with dual sd card slots it's worth it. But don't beat yourself up over this!

Macs

I'm sorry to ask but how is the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest doing? is it salvageable? If not I get it must be so frustrating but I've got to ask.
