Sons Of Winter And Stars - Speed Riff Lesson (Patreon)

Here's a breakdown and tab of one of my favourite parts in Sons Of Winter And Stars. 

The name "Speed riff" actually doesn't mean this being particularly fast part guitar-wise, but the name comes from the drum beat happening during the first two rounds of the riff, which we call "spiidi-komppi" or "speed-komppi" in Finnish and translates to "speed (metal) beat" (also known as "skank beat", "thrash beat" etc.).

While not super fast for guitar (147bpm 8th note triplets equals to 98bpm 16th notes), picking motion wise I'd say this is one of the most technically challenging Wintersun riffs and also a great picking hand workout, and sounds cool even if you're not ready yet to push it quite up to full speed.
