One of the best dig watches. Lots of info and great people. Thank you.

Paul Saunders

What an amazing start to the dig. Very enjoyable.

JUDITH COOKE

Yay, it’s all happening. Excellent commentary, digger up and running, first trench going in. Happy Time Team, best wishes for a successful dig. Love the whispered discussions.

Alan McMillan

Still using a fly splat to speak to people?

David Boon

An interesting start and fantastic for those digging test pits to find some medieval pottery.

Jeffrey M. Williams

Microphones were badly matched with one very quiet and the other very loud.

Michael O'Connor

So great to see Tony back in the saddle. Can't wait for the program.

Greg Edmand

The ever lovely Lawrence and Hilde conducting the now vital "Trowel Talk" interviews.

Peter Lee

So good to be here watching the hard workers. I was wondering if anyone knows what has happened to the Mick Mobile?

Peter Blay

Hard to hear bit as they whidpered

Jinny Royer

Don’t film where you need to whisper. Can’t understand what is being recorded! Plan to interview at a more optimal time.

Inez

Thank you, you are really brightening my day!

Larry Besel, Jr.

I’m 76 years old, my hearing aides compensated very well for the whispering… nothing to be concerned with! I like the Trowel Mikes… they are a natural for an archaeologist!

My hearing aids compensated for the whisper elements… Always a delight to see Tony!

It’s called Dig Watch. There’s no set plan. Grab the mic, chat with as many people as possible, and try to get as much information across as you can.

Julied123

Great update, thanks 💜

The Digging Gardener

So the railway cutting just ploughed straight through a cemetery? I guess the Navvies only stopped for a good Roman Mosaic.

Michael Berthelsen

Thank you SO much for laying the tools up in kits, Ivan! It was brilliant, and we all knew what to get, even the following days. ☺️

Ann Wagner

Boy, they hit the ground troweling! A load goes on at once on Time Team!

Jamie

What an amazing experience with amazing people. I feel so much more than a volunteer, like a true part of the team. Meeting the cast, being filmed and sharing the energy with the crowds around us 👌 unforgettable. Thank you so much to Time Team for the opportunity, and a massive thank you to Patreon

Dr Richard Mellish

All the time that we see two people wandering around the site there must be a third person with the camera, apparently having to walk backwards some of the time. Can we get some credit for that very important third person?

Emily McKenzie

Tony giving us a little insight into one of the reasons time team became unenjoyable for the team towards the end of the television series. The TV stations / studios really tried to milk every last drop out of it and, in doing so, took away the one thing that gave time team its heart and soul. Really glad that they get to experience the good times again, and I wish Mick was there to enjoy it with them!

Elizabeth Nickless

Great digwatch, nice to see some actual results and not have the secrecy as in previous dig watch episodes

Lorna Dryden

The microphone holder 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lorna Dryden

I smiled thru this whole episode!! Wish I was there!!

Denise Smith

Awe, loved seeing Tony. Can't wait for the next video (2) on dig watch.

Jay Kirwan

Hilde! The love of my life!

Jay Kirwan

Hey guys, GREAT video (I'm obviously a little biased) but it was really dark, especially in the dome. Just some feedback I loved it

Michael Berthelsen

Meeting and interacting with so many of the OG Time Team crew, including small bits with Sir Tony was amazing. And the archaeology was so exciting, would LOVE to join again some day!😁 Maybe we'll meet again!😉

1: Still perpetually in love with and slightly envious of Hilde's hair 2: Oh looks like things are about ready to be AWESOME! 3:TONY!!! 4: TONY!!!!

Jamie

I really do hope so. Best bunch of people I ever met

Gloria B

Seeing a trowel stuck up in someone else’s face disconcerts me greatly. I remember Stewart seemed to lean away from it at the Keider dig when the trowel-phone was first used. The way Hilde kept having to lean farther toward him was amusing, but disturbing.

The "OG Time Team post-dig-day pub visit" vibes radiating from your photo are immaculate -- even if I hadn't been scrolling TT's Patreon page when I spotted it, I'm confident I'd have recognized it for what it is! 😁
