Time Team's Carenza Lewis delivered a lecture to a packed-out crowd at Southside Arts Centre in Lincoln on the evening of day two of our dig at the nearby South Common.

Carenza went into detail about the reasons for the dig, what we hoped to discover and current progress on site.

Time Team members who weren't able to attend in person now have the exclusive opportunity to watch Carenza's presentation in full here on Patreon.

The lecture was followed by a live podcast recording, featuring questions from the audience to a panel of Time Team experts. That will be available to Time Team members on Tuesday 20th October.

Brilliant, thank you for sharing this with us.

Interesting, detailed, and warm talk by the accomplished and original time team crew member, Carenza. I keep saying it but Patron support for time team across the new format really is great value for money - the content is excellent and unique!

Ann Wagner

A brilliant summary of a fascinating dig! 🪏 Thank you!

Denis Oliver

Great lecture, Carenza! Thank you.

River

Thanks for getting this out to us so soon after the dig. As one of the lucky Patreon volunteers taking part I didn't want to take up a ticket that someone local might want! Fantastic to learn more about the rest of the site and so happy for Carenza and the team they everything played out in such an interesting and fruitful way! Can't wait for the full story next year 😊

Alan McMillan

Wjatch your feet. Do you have any difficulties? Take care Thank you for tonight's talk

River

Definitely! I am still pinching myself, it was surreal but brilliant!

Sarah Butler

Indeed. I’m relatively new to time team (54 year old woman from Melbourne, Australia) watched the show twice through. Not a stranger to Patreon so jumped on this quick smart!!! What took me so long!?!?! Must admit, I have a bit jumbled in viewing. My ocd screaming because I can’t really watch things in order with ease. Anyway. Yay to be here. Worth every penny alright!

Fiona Ducrey

Lovely to see the Mick doll taking front and centre stage!

Jim Davies

Really good presentation from Carenza. So much info to get over in 30 mins or so. Really gutted I couldnt get over to Lincoln for this...... If this dig is as successful as it appeared to be from this lecture and the digwatch episodes hopefully there will be one at another site next year! So nice to see Mick still gets to events. Thanks to everyone

Gill Sawyer

Excellent talk, thank you so much.

Michael Berthelsen

It was brilliant, and we found SO much, it was great fun, and a fantastic opportunity. If you can, apply next time they open for us Patreons to participate, it's an incredible experience. 😁👍

Mick!!, love he’s overlooking the proceedings, miss him muchly. Great interesting presentation on a fab looking site, long may time team continue.

Paul Saunders

Agreed, Sarah. I'm a Time Team fan down in Hobart, but have been on the Patreon since Sir Tony did his book tour for House of Wolf.

Anja Adam

That was a heck of a lot of information in just over 30 minutes. Really interesting and brilliantly presented! Thank you, Carenza. One last quick question: Could we get the slideshow here on Patreon? I struggle a bit with reading quickly.

Eelco Kruidenier

Very nice lecture by Carenza. I can't wait to see more of this site. Too bad the questions afterwards were not recorded.

Martyn Williams

Hi Eelco, you'll be happy to hear that the questions were recorded. That'll be published as a podcast on 20th October and you'll be able to watch it here on Patreon.

Pam

Fantastic lecture, really opened up a piece of medieval history I knew very little about. Look forward to the complete program and hope that I am able to try to get to the next one and get hands on. Keep up the good work!

Carenza could read the contents of a can of soup and it would be of great interest! Great and very informative video segment!

I was particularly interested in the origins of leprosy, as i have a skeletally not that disimilar condition of Rickets and a very rare chromasonal disorder i was born with- 48 XXYY mosiac, both of these disabled me throughout life, but moreso in recent times.. My father was a mariner, he had milder rickets and scurvy too.. In my late 20's i had my teeth, face & skull re-alligned, still undergoing dental work on my reversed jaw, and it makes one wonder if cleft lip frequency led on from ancient illnesses too .. So the maxilla/ skeletal info tonight was very informative for my own research i am doing into environmental links between homo sapiens and neandertal skeletal development of what we term intersexed non binary humans like myself.

Eelco Kruidenier

Yes, that makes me very happy looking forward to the next podcast.

Li Lammert

Absolutely fabulous! Almost better than the dig days... ALMOST! it's been a most fascinating dig. Can hardly wait for the whole show. Thank you all!!
