A week ago today, we'd just finished Day 1 of our Lincoln Dig!

It feels like much longer ago, but when there's so much going on and you're having a blast, time really does fly by!

We wanted to share some behind-the-scenes film photographs Lucy took of the team who all come together to make the dig happen. They're now back in the Time Team machine, hard at work pulling together the final episode and all the content that surrounds it.

There's lots more to come from this dig, so keep your eyes peeled for that — as well as some exciting new episodes coming your way very shortly! 👀

A big thank you, as always, to you, our Time Team Members, for making this dig happen. We've said it before, and we'll say it again: none of this would be possible without you. 💙

I imagine that filming anything for TT is like watching a swan paddle across a pond. All composed up top….mad flapping happening out of view to achieve it! And if my Patreon subscription pays only for tea and coffee for those hero’s behind the scenes, it’s money well spent!

Fascinating stuff but why was Derek nowhere to be seen on this particular dig?

Michael Berthelsen

So excited to see the rest of this, and all the results of what we found! And thank you again for this wonderful experience!❤️ I highly recommend everyone who's able to apply next time there's a dig! Even if it makes the chances of another opportunity smaller, I hope everyone can have a chance at volunteering at a site. It was so amazing! Thank you all so much!❤️

Thank you for the pictures. Captions stating who the people are and/or what is happening in the pictures would have been greatly appreciated.

Your support, like all Patreons, is critical to our existence...the tea is great; thank you! We are still waiting for Stewart to pay for the beers...

Michael Sperry

Ah such a happy crew! I envy them the opportunity!

Pauline

Was it a case of “Smile for the camera” or is everyone just happy to be there?

Janie Waters

I'm pretty sure I saw Derek in one of those images (#18); sitting beside a trench. Maybe I just need more tea LOL

Mac Whatley

What a good-looking bunch of people!

Ann Wagner

It’s great to see some of the film crew as well as the archaeologists! They are all on the TT crew!

That's Lawrence in photo 18, not Derek :)

Michael Berthelsen

I can't speak for the crew, but most of us volunteers were just that happy to be able to join a Time Team dig.😁 It's hard not to smile when you're having a wonderful time. ☺️

TT is amazing… there must be many behind the scenes who help make it so. I really liked the insights on dig watch that introduced us to new faces and the roles these important team members play. How about an episode or two or three … that introduces us to all those behind the scenes and go deeper into the jobs they do and the roles they play??? That would be well worthy of my donated $$ !! Many thanks to all of you who work behind the scenes!!! You’re amazing!!

These pictures are awesome. It's great to see all this content given the time difference between the UK and Tasmania

What a beautiful bunch of people 🥰 you all deserve a huge thanks from us too, bringing back Time Team means so much to so many of us ❤️ great photos ☺️

The entire Dig Watch content was like being immersed in the activities of the Dig, the no filters approach was palatable. The random walkabouts, little chats, peeks and discussions, it all had a more organic feel to it, which will make the polished episodes so fun to watch when they air. I will agree with all the others when they say this feels like a classic Time Team dig already, and we the fans are in for a few treats I think... Well done to EVERYONE!! This is why I am a Patreon.
