Helen Geake and Martyn Williams host a special live edition of the Time Team podcast from Southside Arts Centre in Lincoln. Time Team has been carrying out a three day dig on South Common, just across the road.

People in the audience are invited to put their questions to Prof. Carenza Lewis, Dr Samantha Tipper, Matt Williams and Helen as they learn more about the archaeological dig happening just a stone's throw away.Geophysics whizz Jimmy Adcock and osteoarchaeologist Jackie McKinley are also on hand to offer their expertise.

Next week the podcast will be learning more about Sutton Hoo. After a month of digging there, in the summer of 2025, the films are finally out on YouTube and ad-free on Patreon.

Just to be pedantic. Recorded a few weeks ago at an open forum. Most definitely not broadcast “live from lincoln”. Hopefully journalistic integrity can soon begin to match that of Archaeology…

Live can also refer to an event being held in front of a live audience, as is the case with this recording.

Jackie said that leprosy really wasn't common in the earlier periods, so how did it become a regular thing in the medieval period?

Pam

Great event, fantastic way to bring the whole experience and community involvement to life.

Excellent! I hope that you are able to do a few more of these podcasts with audiences....I am still kicking myself for not attending this and the dig!
