We enjoy catching up with the Time Team family, and in the case of Brigid Gallagher, 'family' is a particularly apt word! Not only did Brigid meet her future husband – 3D graphics supremo Raysan Al-Kubaisi – on the show; their daughter, Bella, also first learnt to walk on a Time Team shoot!

Brigid appeared in over 70 episodes as a field archaeologist, occasionally showcasing her skills as a trained conservator. She has now returned to her native New Zealand with the family and, together with Raysan, has set up a heritage consultancy, Mishmish. Brigid also presents her own show – 'Heritage Rescue'.

Nice to hear from Brigid; I was wondering about her.

Birna Magnusdottir

Absolutely delightful to see that. And yes, as Adam said. Would be nice to hear from the others

Mary Boulton

It's so nice to see she has perservered with her enthusiasm and energy. I enjoy watching her work with the mix of brisk practicality and delight. Question: Are her new shows in NZ available remotely? Many US museums have developed online programs and tours; I'd so enjoy touring NZ museums with Brigid as my guide!

Adam Shaw

Wot? I also agree.

Paul Middleton

Welcome back Brigid nice to see a familiar face back with the team.

Julie Turner

Hi Brigid, It was such fun to find your video in my Inbox today. Great to see and hear you again! I'd love to see more videos from you in the future. Welcome back, indeed!

Jeff Lanam

Great to see Brigid. On a sad note, Victor Ambrus just passed away. Maybe Tim could create some sort of memorial video?

Punished Brains

Oh, New Zealand, how I miss it after having lived there for a year. Rotorua is magnificent indeed.

Freda Bradley

So glad to see Brigid again! She is truly one of the smartest women in archaeology, in my opinion, and she can absolutely be counted on to explain things to us "little people" in ways we can understand. Huge role model for young women coming up.

Linda Maher

Loved Brig's contributions on Time Team! Would love to see her back on Time Team 🙂

Carna Steimel

Hi Brigid! Hope to see your show soon

Bron Lloyd

So lovely to see you again Brigid! I hope we see Matt, Raksha and all the other field archaeologistst too!

Robert Boudreau

Now there's one of New Zealand's many treasures. Wonderful to see Brigid again.

Sue Murphy

It's about time NZ and or Sky got some of these time team episodes that have not been seen here yet. Love watching reruns though!

Barb Phillips

Living in NZ after years in the UK, I recently discovered Brigid's TV series here (a great show) and then that she lives just down the road from me. Freaky!

Eggs Ackley

Lovely seeing Brigid again. Next up, Raysan?

Sarah Scott

I excavated a hair-do from a Predynastic grave in Egypt once - it was stressful enough without an entire production crew looking over my shoulder! Mad respect to Brigid!

Rachael Arnott

As an ex-pat Kiwi I would LOVE to see that series shown here in Australia!

luvs10s NZ

Brigid's new series in New Zealand is called Heritage Rescue

David Boon

Wonderful to hear from Brigid and hear what she is up to now. I was particularly interested in her comments on how important it was to be able to visualise in 3D and also her knowledge of soils.

william monteith

Always loved listening to brigid and her accent, always wondered if she would start tasting the soil like one expert TT had on once. Always watched brigid in admiration, I wish her well in new Zealand but certainly would love to see her back in the UK on some digs.

Robert mWilson

I always enjoy the interaction between Brigid and Phil on digs. What a patient person! I wish her show was available in the States...Perhaps Time Team could coordinate with MishMish to utilize their unique skills in data analysis. Congratulations to Raysan , too!

jilly Davies

' Bridge's trench' always something exciting !

Simon Willatts

For the 3 representative words question, I think Time Team really delivers the Reithian inform, educate, entertain.

Chapps

A *really* good point about needing to have that sense of dimensionality - 3D perspective - on a dig. I would often think as I watched episodes that it was amazing that Phil and others could say 'that's clearly a wall intersecting another wall, under which is the original line of the earlier building ...' and all I could see is rocks and dirt. Of course, I'm seeing it on a flat TV, so the '3D chess' thinking is especially thrilling. Wonderful to hear Brigid's Kiwi accent again!

Larissa Spiker

Thank you for sharing your memories with and updating us fans!

Debbi Stott

Just become a patreon and really enjoying meeting the team and hearing some of those questions answered. Like you Steve I am fascinated by the 3D imagination required of a field archaeologist. To be able to visualise the whole from a line of stones, or a series of colour changes in the dirt is amazing.

Brigid, It's great to see TT re-emerge and to hear what the members of the crew are doing today. I wonder if any work has been done in Waipu, north of Aukland on the settlement of Rev. Norman MacLeod and his 'Normanite' followers? They came via Adelaide, from St. Anns, NS, Canada, where there remains a Twinning Society, connecting those who remained with those who emmigrated to New Zealand. Does anything remain of their original 1853 settlement other than monuments in the local cemetery?
