Lyn Howe

I can’t wait to see these new programmes.

Toby Forsdyke

So . . . definitely no Tony. There’s doesn’t appear to be a place for Phil (on a regular basis) with Neil taking that position. No Raksha, no Guy (c’mon! Roman villa?!) and no Francis on the Iron Age site. Still, it’s brilliant that so many of the team are back and it’ll be good to see how the new ones integrate. I just hope that they let the archeology do the talking as in series 1-19 and not like in series 20.

Zoe Propper

It's all so real now 🍻

Conan Mills

I would love to see Paul Blinkhorn come back too as a pottery expert.

Sarah Holloway

This is so exciting and It will be brilliant !

Eggs Ackley

Brilliant, just brilliant!

Brian Perry

Feels great to be apart of the investment team! Go Time Team!

Robert Wise

All right! This is wonderful news! Both sites sound interesting! I’m looking forward to the enhanced visualization of the sites with the improved tech! That Roman site sounds like a mega mansion! Should offer some interesting finds and maybe even history of the facility? I love the mystery in the Iron Age site, and the possible links to other continents. It’s a real pleasure to see so many of the old team returning … it gives me confidence the same quality will be maintained through TT2. I’m looking forwards to the contributions of the new team members! Here in the USA my family opened presents on Christmas morning. I’m feeling the same excitement about Time Team’s return that made it so hard to fall asleep on Christmas Eve! Thank you all so much!

Anthony cotton

Can't wait, live not to far away from broughton, this is the best thing to look forward to this year

Sonia Hamilton

Oh my goodness. This is getting even more exciting! It seems more real now we are getting closer! 💃💃. I am glad Victor Ambrus was able to be woven into the show. It is great to see all the old faces and some new ones!! Oh I can’t wait for the first dig!!❣️

David Bania

Unexpectedly I became quite emotional while watching this promotion. So much exciting news! Can't wait to see what geo-phys can present with today's technology. So exciting! Now, would it be bad to say that I am crushin' on Helen and Carenza?

Robert Boudreau

Absolutely brilliant. An archaeological dream-team.

Paul Brekke

Absolutely marvelous!! Just thinking of the upcoming digs gives me butterflies! It's going to happen!!! Woohoo!! Thank you to the whole team here for your efforts in re-establishing Time Team! :-))

Martha Berryman

The sheer organizational accomplishment of your archaeological focus is itself astounding. So glad to see many Time Team Originales joining. I look forward to your most amazing and splendid historical symphonies of new insights about who we are and how we got here. Martha, Cultural Anthropologist, Texas, Ret'd

Ian Holmes

This is so exciting. So much to look forward to. So much to be a part of.

Simon Orchard

I think more than anything I'm looking forward to seeing how new tech has developed. I hope a few old faces drop by to say hello at least, even if they're not involved with the project.

Nick Smith

Great news ! Well done. Another vote for Mr Blinkhorn from me.

Carl Thorpe

Looking forward to seeing you all, and taking part on the site in Cornwall... It will be wonderful to be part of the Time Team once again..

Bob and Pam

Awesome, its great to have a small part in this!

Latinum

I enjoyed watching, I await with eager anticipation for the next step. I see Mary Beard has retired would she be interested or be available?

Justin Freeman

I love it when a plan comes together… So much fun on the way!

Paul Garner

That is a great appetite whetting video. I can't wait. Hope all goes to plan.

Susie Stockton-Link

Just wonderful! Can't wait! That is one HECK of a team. I do hope that Phil Blinkhorn can be lured into the fold. A carrot of rugby, beer and motorbikes might do it... Bring it on, Time team! Seriously: having this to look forward to now is a HUGE boost. (I'm hoping there may be some way in which we less flexible souls can take part. in the future....)

Penny Screech

Thank you! You've just brightened my day. What better way to start the weekend than this?! So looking forward to further developments and the digs themselves.

Jakub Jůzl

Sounds incredible, fingers crossed everything goes well & scope creep is avoided. :)

Rita Baker

Nice to hear that our Kiwi's will be taking part even though they cant fly (like true kiwi's) to the other side of the world:-) Good lineup! Thank you!

Diane S Ratliff

I am so very thrilled that through Patreon I can be a part of this wonderful program. Thanks Time Team for including your fans.

Adrian Billingham

This is awesome, sad that Tony and Phil won't be involved but so pleased to see Carenza, Helen, John and the rest of the team. Seriously can't wait!!!

Ami Chancellor-Phillips

I am over the moon about this! Great team, technology, sites, plan... I'm really looking forward to being able to dig (pun intended) in more and get that other site, finds, and historical information that often sends my fingers running to Google. Keep up the great work!

Joanie Berkwitz

This is the best news to happen in a long time! Glad to be a tiny part of it. We’ll missTony very much, he brought such a humorous, witty, down to earth element. And Phil, maybe he can be brought in, at least to make an appearance. However, the Team is full of marvelous, talented people, and it’s going to be FANTASTIC!!

Philip Stack

Great video. Amazing to think how much has been accomplished in such a short time.

Mary Boulton

I'm delighted we will have Victor's perspectives intertwined with the other representations of the sites.

Gary Norman

I'm excited! Go Time Team!!!

Philip Corlis

I am beyond thrilled that the legacy and talent of Victor Ambrus will become an permanent part of our new TT adventures. I would love to also see another new on-site artist capable of creating fresh interpretations with pencil and paper - brush and watercolor right at the trench side. Digital technology is great, but having an artist there, where the action is, has always been a treasured part of the Time Team experience. In closing let me say - I am gobsmacked at the depth of knowledge, the array of technology, and the talent assembled. It is obvious the new Time team will be so more than our treasured past episodes. THANK YOU for all you do!

Amy Singerle

I saw a comment on YouTube that Phil is already committed to Waterloo uncovered which he’s been working with for the past 5 or 6 years I think. They have an interesting lecture series on YouTube.

Amy Singerle

This is such exciting news and what a wonderful team you have gathered. I can’t wait to see more. I’m so happy to be a part of this.

Elizabeth G Schulz

I would love to see Phil Harding as the presenter !!!

Kay Silkey

I received a tweet from Paul Blinkhorn about the new series. He told me that neither of the sites were his “period”. Hopefully one of next year’s sites will be Anglo Saxon, and he can participate.

Emma chamberlain

Wow, loads of developments since original time team. Can’t wait!! 👏

Rachelle Gates

This is wonderful can’t wait for all of the new content. As usual there is going to be a wonderful team of people. Thank you all so much for doing this.

Jon Colcord

That was wonderful to watch! I seem to have heard a whisp of a hint that there may be not just one presenter. Interesting! Also great see that Naomi is involved. Incredibly smart and interesting archaeologist, and we never got to see enough of her on the earlier series. Kudos all around. Great new crew, and I look forward to more announcements!

Deborah Taylor

I am really looking forward to seeing this!! It going to be amazing!!!

David Jones

Brilliant video, really glad to see so many familiar faces as well as a great new group of contributors! The possibilities with all the new tech sound extensive, it’ll be interesting to see how archaeology has changed over the years

David king

Genuinely excited by this can’t wait

Ian Holmes

Guy did mention on one of his YouTube videos that he wouldn’t go back and do Time Team again.

Martin Burch

I know Tony Robinson has said that he doesn’t want to present the new shows, despite being a big supporter and fan. But I feel that the shows would have a huge void without his style, enthusiasm, archaeological naivety, intelligence, communication ability, and relationships with all the returning team members (whether bringing out their ideas and personality or gently teasing them for their professional disagreements or lack of certainty). I’m sure there are a few other people who could satisfactorily present the shows, but there is no one to my mind who could do so AND make it “feel” like a proper Time Team. Is there nothing we can do to persuade Tony to return as presenter?

Anne Leaver

Is Phil Harding going to be part of the team

Diane Johnston

Wow!! I knew it was going to be good but this raises the bar - brilliant stuff - super well done to all directly and indirectly involved.

Kevin Mc

How do I get this silly grin off my face ? :)

Mike Lowndes

While TT was a great ensemble peice, I'm sure Tim is acutely aware that its core charm derived to a great extent from Tony's approach and the interplay between Tony and Phil throughout. I'm convinced that was not designed, and evolved naturally before coming a core device of the format. So I'm sure they will be looking to have something like that in the show. However, don't expect perfection from the start. Go watch series 1 to see what I mean!

Kay Theriault

Oh! I'm soooo excited! This is fantastic news! Can't wait to see whom else will be involved and those are fascinating sites!

Judy Ashwell

This is so exciting! Many thanks to all making this possible!

Michael Schneider

This was fantastic to watch; love how Victor’s legacy will be integrated into the shows. Of course the burning question is “what about Phil?

John Matthew IV

The great news continues to come. Looking forward to what comes next.

Mike Lowndes

I always found Neil very engaging. Perhaps even the presenter role? I know you'd probably prefer a non-expert, but as Tony's knowledge increased the presenting got _better_. You are under no pressure for 'celebrity' with the new format, at least.

Mike Lowndes

Fantastic that in Suzy we have a historian. I'm sure she'll fill Robin's boots with ease!

Matt Wenham

Amazing! So excited to see all this come together. Fabulous mix of familiar faces, new talent and tech. Can't wait!

Martin Burch

Absolutely. Time Team was a great ensemble, but with a presenter who could play the fool, ask the dumb or simple questions (even if he already knew the answer), make the intelligent connections between what different experts and trenches and finds were showing, draw things back together to the main focus, draw out members of the ensemble to reveal their personality and their ideas, and tell the story of the dig and finally the story of the site and the people who lived and worked there down the ages. I’m sure Tony’s interplay with the Time Team members wasn’t contrived or planned, and that it evolved naturally as the relationships developed through the series. While Phil was a big character, I don’t think Tony’s interplay with Phil was unique - Tony had great interplay with all the Time Team members. And this was even true with members who weren’t part of every episode. That’s why, while I would like to see Phil, and Guy, and Raksha, and Jackie, and Paul, and Jonathan, and Francis, and all the others return, I’m only concerned that Tony is the one missing from episode 1. I think Tony is the one irreplaceable person in that one unique role with those special skills that are different from the variety of skills across the rest of the team AND he has the relationships with the team members that makes it all work that he developed over the 20 series.

John DuSomme

Awesome to see many of the original team heading back to the TT trenches! Can’t wait!

Kieran Gane

John and Jimmy, doing the geophys shimmy!

Michelle P.

I can’t wait! Thank you!

Pleased Pete

Oh my.........this is going to be superb

Alan

Delighted to see that Natalie Haynes will be popping up. So many possibilities there. “Maro Not Barrow” perhaps.

David Boon

Great to see the old faces and the new. Looking forward to see who will be chosen to fill Tony’s shoes.

Carl Johnson

As you named every team member my excitement level kept increasing and I love that Victor's artwork will continue to be part of the story. This is so exciting!!!!!!

Markus Bauer

What a great Team! As presenter maybe Stephen Fry would be great... with his knowledge and style I imagine he could be a wonderful addition to the team. And I hope that Phil Harding will be featured in some way...

Sam Batstone

Agree such a lovely thing to do

Sam Batstone

Very excited. As much as I’d like to see “Tone” back I think finding a new fresh presenter to develop their relationships and knowledge along the way as he did would be a great asset for the future legacy. A die hard TT lover from episode one and binge rewatcher I do think that sticking to the principle of legacy would mean an “unknown” would be better.

A Bleese

We won - Time Team is back. Wonderfully exciting.

Mark Freestone

So proud and thrilled to be a small part of this! Are you sticking to the 3 day format? Maybe get a brewery to sponsor Phil to come back...?

David Richardson

So exciting! Great to see so many of the old team back - and the newcomers!

Rob Rowles

How exciting!!!! Also I spy friends of mine in the vid from Dig Village. I really hope we can have a return to that format too

Mark Cooke

More info on the film crew please and the site staff a team is the hole thing

E Anna Johnson

Absolute Magic. So exciting. Volunteering on a student dig in local Park (Completely unskilled, but wash pots and talk) am surprised how many of the Students tell stories of their first interest watching Time Team Films with Grandparents etc. Legacy?

Andrew Gledhill

So excited for this. The team looks great. I hope we hear of a few more familiar names announced later.

Anne Henry

A great video Tim, and so good to find so many of the original team willing to reconvene. The extensions, enabled via Patreon and advanced technology, sound brilliant and I can hardly wait for the great day when I am sitting in my study actually watching the new Time Team. Thank you to everyone involved.

Lee Mclean

Great to see things are moving forward in such a positive way.

Mike Darby

Brilliant, it is getting more and more exciting to see the development of the "new" Time Team. Having watched the "Career In Ruins" videos, and the way that they use drones, laser scanning and photometry, along with digital recording methods, it will be fascinating to see that applied to the longer Time Team digs, and what it offers in acquisition of data, speed and presentation. Well done Tim, and all the Team!

Dr Richard Mellish

I find it very wearing to try to follow the commentary when there is distracting "music" especially when that includes percussion. Why not save yourselves the bother of adding that distraction? How about finding out how many of your supporters really want it, how many would prefer not to have it, and how many don't care?

Mark Lund

I dont get this? Should I be able to watch it now, as a Patron on Patreon?

TimeTeamOfficial

Hi Mark, following the exclusive Patreon preview, we've now put up the premiere screen so that we can share the link with the wider public ahead of tomorrow night's screening.

SantaCruzCylon

So we see it when it’s released to general public? Why put it here then?

Ann H

Is the video active? It will not run tho I am signed in, device verified, etc. That said I seem to get merch emails which I would prefer to be a separate point of access on the main site. Using Windows 10 and direct access as I am not a Facebook (never), Twitter, Google app, or Apple app user.

Mark Lund

As it says 'please re-watch the official premiere', I thought this was the official premiere(?) Anyway, confusion aside I shall be there .

SantaCruzCylon

I’m pretty sure if we are paying to be patrons, we are probably subscribed to YouTube channel. I fail to see why there’s only the general public YouTube link here and no patreon real preview. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ian

Soooo excited after watching this! So much so, that I've gone up a tier in support.

TimeTeamOfficial

Hi Andria, There's a range of technical considerations that affect how YouTube and Patreon integrate with one another and how previews can be co-ordinated. We've been exploring different options within these limitations to try achieve the best balance for patrons. We released the video yesterday exclusively to patrons to share a preview before being released to the wider public, so it has been available for around 24 hours only through Patreon. Unfortunately, once the public premiere screen goes up, it temporarily disables Patreon access until the premiere plays. There are reasons for having just the one version of the video live, but we'll put up another identical Patreon only version of the video now for anyone who missed the preview.

Eggs Ackley

The Assemble video mentioned that Sue Breeze will curate Victor’s portfolio and that that she too is an artist. Did Sue create the “Guess Who” portraits?

Alan Pryke

Can we have the guess who portraits as badges would go we on my Time Team Beanie

TimeTeamOfficial

Good question! That was actually one of our other graphics whizzes, Neil Emmanuel.

Alan Baulch

What about Victor's Pictures on Tea towels, posters etc. I'm sure you could come to an agreement with Victor's family? would generate a healthy income?

BC

Yes! I would so buy into that!

Hugh Sawyer

Best news in years. TT - along with Location (x3, with Kirsty and Phil) has always been the top programme. We miss Mick Aston, and would like to see Phil Harding, Sir Tony and other favourites again.

Victoria Leather

Agreed - even if they just appear as special guests on some episodes. I always liked Raksha Dave, too.

Denise DuBois

Do you think some of the former regulars that are not on board could do guest appearances?

Margie Lewis

One of my first ancestors in Battle of Worchester, think September 1651, fighting for King Charles II, Bonnie Prince Charlie, against Oliver Cromwell Fighting on the losing side, captured, William & Robert Munro, along with thousands of Scottish, and was put on the ship. The John and Sarah. Sent to the Americas. Willian was sent to Boston: Robert, where President Monroe came from went to Rhode Island. George escaped to Germany. You guys make history. So interesting. Of Course, I love history. But I am bringing my Scottish ancestors. And to play when I hear some of the things like Roxborough. And some of the things that you have gone to. And the civil war between. The Royalists, and Cromwell, I can relate because that is where I come from. He was bound out and he was able to repay for his bondage, became a free man in 1690.

Holger Hartmann

Of course we all miss the old warhorse. But remember the problems he had with his back. More than a visit in honor is no longer possible. Unfortunately.
