Hooray for Bridget!!! I'm a big fan of this intelligent scientist -- WONDERFUL!!!!!!

L

(But you do have people of color in Britain, nu? I'm pretty sure you had an empire and a bunch of folks from all over the world who live in your amazing land. There is too much pain in the world to have a team that doesn't represent the true face of Britain.)

Ann H

Give a supporter status as a gift. This expands the support base and what better thing to give a young relative.

Torleif Småback

Fantastic to see some of the old team members are back :D Stewart's look at lumps and bumps is super fascinating and has changed how I look at the landscape.

JIm ford

Yes we are all getting closer to seeing time team back and seeing the old team and newbies exciting or what

Paul

Good grief Laura, Time Team has had a wonderful cast of colorful characters over the years. We see the talent of all these exceptional people first. We prefer to look at the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

Jennifer Bibby

We do, but in the UK, only approximately 2% of the population is black and only 8% in total is non white. Currently, POC, in the UK don't take up science subjects. No idea why. I teach science at post 16 level, and don't see many.

Carolyn Westlake

What an amazing exciting huge project. Thanks to all the Time Team crew past and present and never forgetting Mick.

Carole Cox

Why try to create a problem where there is not one? Not everyone is interested in archeology. I am sure no one is excluded from the discipline.

Christopher Samuel

I've been head down in work for the last few months but had a chance to surface just in time to see this and I'm so excited! Archaeology (and Time Team) has always lifted my spirits and I'm very happy that this project is going places (quite literally). Bravo all!

Kevin Michaud

I am so pleased to be a Patreon supporter of Time Team. Thrilled and watching everything from my base at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine USA

Beate Heinze

I'm so proud to be a patreon and happy so many familiar faces are going to be involved in the digs. This is not a dream anymore, its going to happen. Lets hope for more patreons by July 18th. Greetings from Bielefeld / Germany. I have been a TT fan since the beginning.

Beate Heinze

Is there going to be a T-shirt to be issued this year? TT returns 2021 . I would buy it straight away.

Eleri Makes Stuff

So happy to be a part of this! Looking forward to seeing John and geophys shine with new tech! And, of course, to see Stewart wander off over the landscape lumps and bumps

Jeanette Moon

Can't wait for this to happen. I just hope that Phil can be convinced to join the team.

Bron Lloyd

I loved this! So thrilled with the lineup so far - especially Suzi!

Larissa Spiker

This is fabulous news! I'm beyond thrilled. Many thanks to all of you for your willingness to jump back in! The possibilities to learn more history is priceless. Yay!

Jack D Stout

Exciting! Stewart is the best get for this project, imo. His insights into the landscape and surrounding area are always so interesting. He's a landscape whisperer.

Nicholas & Elizabeth Dyer

This is such good news. It'll be great to see the team back together again, Mick and Victor RIP will be there in spirit. After a year of turmoil that the world has gone through, it's great that there is something exciting too look forward to seeing #timeteam.

Peter

Great team, great sites - really looking forward to both. One thing - the background "music" is very annoying - hope it does not get added to the dig coverage.

Marie Gilbert

I am so proud to be supporting this!

Arnstein Birkeland

I'd like to see Paul Blinkhorn back! A pottery expert who is also an MC enthusiast! Great combo!

Derek Thom

Can't wait! If Tony isn't presenting then I remember Sandi Toksvig as a guest doing well in Canterbury (Tyler Hill) but I imagine you may well prefer to have someone fresh. Just a thought.

Jude Edling

A Roman villa? I can hear Sir Tony, "It's Day Three and we came here to find a Roman villa, then it was a Governor's palace, then it became a Roman fort or a fortlet, then a Roman hotel with an Iron Age burial and a few Anglo-Saxon pottery shards. What's going on? Where's the villa?" I'll greatly enjoy seeing how it turns out. I hope Sir Tony will have a cameo or two, or at least an interview from the Number One fan. I think Sandi Toksvig would be a presenter. I hope Phil Harding is well and will be part of the team in some way. Thank you from Minneapolis, MN

Ann H

And I from down on Cape Cod.

Kathryn Schauf

With the new geo phys and graphics equipment this will not be the "seemingly pointless" (Tony's words) guess fest It could be sometimes before. I can't wait to see the new results!

Laura Ann Flynn

We are so proud to be part of this! We look forward to Time Team’s return!

Deidre Black

He's in his 70s. I do hope he visits, though.

Ceryswyn

This video warmed the cockles of my heart. Seeing so many familiar faces, and hearing how their careers have advanced over the years is wonderful, and see you all come together makes me feel like a kid whose divorced parents just announced their reunification :D I can't wait to see all of the new technology in action, the drone footage of the new sites alone has me on the edge of my seat looking for earth works and parch marks in the landscape. Thank you for keeping us so well informed of the plans and time lines. I'm so excited to keep following the progress. I echo Laura Ann's sentiments - we're SO proud to be a part of this <3

Knud Vöcking

I didn't finish my studies in archaeology and chose a different career, but never missed my fascination for history and archaeology. So supporting Time Team is something I do wholeheartedly. I love the original series and am more than happy that Time Team is coming back.

Ian Kent

Well that tickled the taste buds, can't wait. I'm praying covid behaves itself now 🤞

Tebbin Salvesen

Thanks so much for bringing the show back, and a special thanks for bringing Naomi back! She has an addictive smile and enthusiasm that is most enjoyable!

Margie Lewis

BIG ,Thank you for getting back together, if not Sir Tony, Who would he pick? I am glad that most of the ones who started are back,Naomi is awesome

Judy Flack

Sandy Toksvig for Presenter please

Alan Baulch

Please, please. please NOT Jay Blade!

Nicholas Jenkins

I could see Susan Calman bringing lots of enthusiasm and humour as a presenter if Sir Tony is not involved

Kathryn

Very excited that the wheels are turning!

Doug Mackey

Wonderful! I have a note on music. Part of the joy of (re) watching TT is the music: The theme and many of the incidental compositions are loved and warmly familiar. I do hope there is some effort to use or reimagine some of these familiar musical passages in the new programming. Thank you.

Scott Grayban

I am sooooo happy. I got goosebumps already!

Simon Parton

Personally I would keep the theme music unchanged, a new 'version' will be a distraction.

Doug Mackey

That would be good by me!

Benjamin Johnson

Completely unsolicited host advice: Team of Alice Roberts, Raksha Dave, and Faye Simpson. Tony was superb, but I don't know if we need the "clueless everyman" character for the reboot as much as experts with senses of humor who can describe things reasonably simply. I'm sure Tim has something else great in store, but I just thought those 3 were excellent on the original run, and Alice is an excellent and experienced presenter/host.

Bill

Agree with Benjamin with the addition that it would be good to consider that your audience has changed and while the programme should appeal to a reasonably wide audience the core support are those that have an active interest therefore I would think the programme should lean towards the more technical rather than "dumbed" down.

TinyShinyCrumb

I wonder if, for a presenter, they’ve thought about tapping into some people who have done experimental archaeology from other shows. Like Alex Langlands (who was also on TT) did the awesome Farm series with Ruth Goodman, Peter Ginn, Tom Pinfold. Any one of them would be great as the TT presenter,

steve steve

Do we really need to apply critical race theory to time team. Channel 4 was more interested in demographics than the science and look how that ended the last series.

steve steve

Sandi is too nice it needs to be someone who will press the archeologists for results (even if only in fun )

JUDITH COOKE

So exciting. This is the way educational programmes should be presented. Having the opportunity to interact and learn “on site” is going to be fantastic.

David Challis

I remember being so jealous of what Time Team was revealing to me when I lived in New Zealand, I felt like I has missed something big. After 35 years living there, I came home and am now surrounded by my history. You really can't ask for more.

Ed Morley

Hi Team, do you have the detailed Lidar data for the target sites? If so is it relevant and will that be a tool for Stuart and John to set the context in the environment? My family and I are so happy that this is all happening, can't wait!

TimeTeamOfficial

Hi Ed, you'll definitely be seeing more discussions on LiDAR in the weeks ahead. It's an incredible tool and we'll be utilising it wherever applicable. It's one of just many exciting bits of tech we now have at our disposal! We'll be sharing more data on both sites soon...

Clare McElroy

This all seems so exciting. I can't wait to watch things progress. Who knew a pandemic would lead to such exciting new times for Time Team!

Ted Black

I only discovered Time Team when I fell down the YouTube rabbit hole during the pandemic shutdown. Now I am addicted, I shall eagerly look forward to new wonders!

Goijaart van Dijk

Did anyone else notice that the cropmarks in the second areal shot of the Roman villa site resemble the Channel 4 logo?
