We're thrilled that archaeozoologist Naomi will be joining us on Time Team again for the new digs this year! Through her vast knowledge of environmental archaeology, Naomi brings a whole new level of insight, or – as she prefers to call it – 'another roll of the dice'.

When we recently compiled our Ultimate Dig Checklist (check out our earlier posts), we might have forgotten something: a flotation tank! If you don't know what one of these is and how it will help us, Naomi is here to explain all...

This is so interesting and it will be great to have Naomi and the flotation tank in the new series .

Michael Fortson

Excellent discussion with Dr. Naomi Sewpaul. Very informative...Thank you!

Susie Stockton-Link

Great to have her expertise along. This is going to be the most 'instantly revealing" pair of sites. Just can't wait! September - a lodestone shining brightly in the distance!

Jessica Wicks

One of my favorites from the series! The work she does is fascinating and I look forward to hearing more from her going forward!

Ann H

Yeah!! This adds so much to the historic climate and flora. Fascinating.

Kevin

Great. She gives an overview of the environment that those living on the sites would have seen everyday.

Robert Wise

Ah yes! Foundations and ditches are fascinating and the fine details revealed by Naomi’s work flesh out the story! I’m very glad she and the perspective she brings will be part of the new Time Team team. I’ve been hoping for more of this perspective! As an undergraduate I worked in a paleobotany lab and we used lake sediment cores to extract information about climate, vegetation, lake acidity, forest fires, and other human impacts. Any chance lake sediments might get included in Time Team’s work?

Bart Remeeus

I am glad Noami will be returning to the team! =)

Debbie Williams

This will be so interesting. Looking forward to TT using all the new technology that is available now.

Carol Overrill

Wonderful. I am really looking forward to catching up in new developments and new technology used by archaeologists these days. Can we have a geek spot please Tim.

Naomi was a favorite team member for me. She was always sweet natured, self-effacing and hard working. I’m excited to see her in action again.

Stephen Southworth

I love listening to the experts giving us a window into their world! Thanks for this.

JUDITH COOKE

Lovely to see Naomi again and to hear her excitement about the upcoming digs. Can’t wait to see the results of the flotation tank!

Peter Milne

CSI Time Team! Great stuff.

Eggs Ackley

Great to know Naomi will be on board. She was one of my favorites also. Great things come in smallish packages as they say.

Stephen Draper

I remember Naomi from past Time Team

Kieran Gane

Awesome. This is real science!

Fern Wilcox

Naomi, it is not silly to be excited about your job at all. A wise woman once said to me "When work stops being fun it is time to change something." This is going to be great that you will be part of the team. And feel free to be absolutely giddy! Great to see you again.

SEAN STANLEY

It gets better and better. So happy to see another veteran team member. As everyone I assume, waiting to see who is going to take on the ultimate job of presenting the shows. I hope it's someone that very suitable.

Elizabeth B Hess

They are doing such a good job at building excitement. The enthusiasm of the re-assembled team is palpable.

Lacy Oden

So excited to see the advancements this time around. The floatation tank definitively fill in some blanks with fine details!

Philip Stack

Having Naomi on board will add an extra dimension. Hopefully the new format will allow occasional catch ups during post-excavation, to see the results of the analysis of invertebrates, pollen etc.

Connie L Merchant

So nice to see Naomi will be on the team and there will be the addition of her expertise on a site.
