We recently shared a little sneaky peek of Tim's  site visit to the Iron Age settlement in Cornwall that Time Team will be investigating this year. We're now pleased to present the full piece.

As you can see, it's a location ripe with opportunity, with many tantalising questions to be answered. We hope to shed light on some of these when we return in September.

We'll be releasing this to the general public soon, but remember where you heard it first!

Now I’m curious as to why the approach to the fugu, looked at from above, looks like a reverse "J" just before the entrance … any ideas?

Priscilla Logan

So looking forward to seeing this exciting site dig.👍

Is there any chance of you doing some sites in Wales? I'll be there with my trowel if you do!

Sonia Hamilton

Wow! Just amazing, the pottery from North Africa!! This whole site is exciting and so interesting.

Stephen Gent

Awesome. As a former resident of that part of Cornwall, it is nice to see some great work being done. Wish I could be there, but alas I now live in the US

I find the "background" music annoying and distracting at the best of times, especially the drumming at the start of every video, which at least I can avoid by turning sound off for that period; but what on earth is the reason for inflicting it on us even when someone is speaking, as at 4:19 in this video?

Nicki MacRae

Very excited for the dig, but I must say I enjoyed this update as a little bit of creative filmmaking in its own right 😊

Simon Orchard

Excellent update, i think you've got this one just right. Seems like we're in for a real treat with both these sites.

john reames

ooo! I was worried we would be digging up just another roundhouse but this looks more interesting now. =D

STEVEN joseph REDLIN

Is there any resentment from the local teams or are they excited that Time Team is coming ?

Keith Jackson

Both sites for this year have had limited excavations carried out so you know that there is a very good chance of significant discoveries. Is that typical for Time Team, i.e. do you only go where there is already a strong hint? Do you ever go in to a completely blank canvas?

Donna Holt

Fogou floor - the best phrase, I never thought I would say!

We've always worked closely with the local teams over the years, and wouldn't impose ourselves on a site where we weren't welcome! Local knowledge is so important to every dig, and we're honoured that James Gossip and the team are allowing us to be a part of this exciting and intriguing site. We'll be listening closely to their insights and hope that we can help them further their understanding with the new tech, resources and other perspectives Time Team can offer. It's always been that combination of inside and outside perspectives that leads to exciting discoveries.

Fantastic! So good to see the enthusiasm of all involved and it looks like an amazing site!

This looks amazing with so much potential, cant wait for the Time Team dig!
