JUDITH COOKE

Hi everyone. It’s great to be able to listen in to these discussions. It really feels like being there.

Michael Louk

Wonderful! Could listen to you three all day.

Paul Tomblin

I wish you guys used lav mikes- the sound qualify isn’t great taking the audio off the camera.

Richard Linley

How many names are on that marvellous flag?

Adams Taylor

Yes, the sound is difficult. Also, phone videos are charming, but getting a bit tired already. I feel for Helen as she's being "schooled".

Carrie Beesley

I’m still somewhat stunned that THE Helen Geake answered my question. This is brilliant

Keith Jones

Well, nice friendly, cuddly conversations with some interesting questions. However, am I missing something? We are half way through the 3 days and no newsof what is actually happening, what's been found

Keith Jones

Will we be hearing any of that through the 3 days of digging?

Anthony cotton

Would be nice to see a bit more of the site, enjoying the talks though

Mika

Archeologists get the best toys... I mean, tools

Richard Moss

I agree on the sound quality but hopefully can sort that out with later posts. It is still great to hear from the team and having them answer questions though. I am sure we are all keen to find out what is in the trenches, but I am guessing we have to be patient because of making sure the site is secure and not too identifiable?

Ann Wagner

The portable xrf machine sounds amazing! Is there other new tech that helps with understanding finds?

Stephen Gent

Helen still looks as fresh-faced as ever. Looking forward to seeing the actual dig

the polish dude

I agree about the poor sound quality but now that it is addressed I know it will be taken care of. I am super excited to be involved in a small way to make all this happen.

Ann Wagner

It’s a strange morning. On the one hand, we Americans are marking the 20th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks with horror and trepidation. On the other hand, Time Team is considering the far more distant past with much greater hope. Working together to understand the past helps us to make a promising future. Is anyone at the dig thinking about 9-11? Thank you for offsetting this hard day with a far more joyful event.

Pat Findlay

I am wondering when we will actually see what’s happening on the site

Jude Edling

Over 90 countries lost people in the 9/11 attacks with the UK losing the largest number following the US. There are still unidentified remains and missing people, including undocumented immigrants. Thank you Ann for asking the question and I'm with you in appreciating Team Team today.

Jude Edling

Thank you Helen! I hope I'm not alone in thinking Helen and Carenza fill the role Mick had wonderfully well. In so many Tea Times, they both talked about focus, answering the questions and coordinating ideas.

Karl Miller

they won't show the site untill the actual episode.

Anthony cotton

I thought we would get more being paid members,

Lacy Oden

These are great!!! Can’t wait to see more more more!

Martha Berryman

Prof. Geake! Oh! Thank you! Your 8 minutes of Climate History were dense with significant details. You're not only brilliant, you know how to compact your extensive knowledge(s) into articulate, transportable chunks for the rest of us!

Freda Bradley

Wasn't the portable XRF (or a progenitor of it) in a TT episode where they were looking for the stamp mill on top of a hill somewhere (Lake District maybe)? I seem to remember a break out interview with Phil where he got moved to "management" for some reason and they asked him what was going on. He said "[A man's name I don't remember] is down there with his ray gun...." then explained how it was looking for the chemical composition of what they'd found. Wouldn't that be the XRF in the early days, perhaps?

Tanis Sugden

I love what Derek and Lawrence bring to the show! Thanks for giving us a different and fun view of a Time Team dig.

Sarah Holloway

This is very interesting and great questions

Elaine P

Another fun and thoughtful interview. A very large thank you to all those taking time away from the dig to answer our questions, your time is very much appreciated.

Carl Thorpe

The Time Team on site today formed a circle and had a minutes silence and reflection to mark the anniversary of 9/11

Donna Oglesby

Ann.. Today being the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 is a bit hard for me personally due to my family lost a cousin in tower two I believe back then...and IF Paul and I had not met and hit it off as well as we did back then, I was to have been there that morning, I had plans on being at the Boarders bookstore which was in the Underground mall there, and I would of been there that morning, to look at some genealogy books and other materials dealing with genealogy...God had other plans for me...with that in mind, the bright side to this day is that Time Team 2.0 is now up and going. My only regret with that is that Dr. Phil Harding will NOT be there. But happy at the others that are there from the Original, like John, Helen, Daniele, Matt, and few others. I Miss Tony and his beginnings of each TT dig.

Kathryn

Thank you Prof Helen!

Ann Wagner

Thank you! I’m glad you did that.

Ann Wagner

Take care, Donna. I’m keeping you and your cousin in my thoughts.

Ann Wagner

Take care, Jude. I’m thinking of the people from all over who were lost and those missing them.

Graham Dombkins

Haha.. you get a whole new Time Team.. that’s awesome. We’ll get a new episode in all it’s completed production glory and after that I’m sure Patreons will get behind the scene, out-takes, maybe even further details and follow-ups. I look forward to it all.

Dorothy Frank

Agree! Hope they have a chance to use it, and that we get to see it in action,!

Dorothy Frank

Great conversation. Regarding the colder temps, I recall some volcano blew up around the time the Norse settlements in Greenland failed, amongst other cold related disasters. Little ice age?

Jay R

I could listen to Helen explain anything, she's so passionate about her love for archeology.

Larissa Spiker

Helen and Stewart are my favorite of the OG crew. I could listen to them talk about anything. They're so down to earth and fun and genuine. <3

Marcus Hill

I just noticed that the big Logo back drop is the Flag/Wall of Fame!!! How cool. Nice to see and hear Hellen expound of the dig and what's happening.

Cheryl Kurucz

Excellent Q&A with Helen gentlemen! As always I love hearing from Helen.
