Are you ready to go for a little walk around the site?

We know how eager you are for news from the dig. We have SO much to share with you, with lots more on the way (and, yes, we do mean lots!). Thank you for your patience while we put it together to share it with you.

There are many pieces of the puzzle and you may not see them all at once, but with each new piece hopefully you'll get a little closer to the amazing picture that is revealing itself.

Best wishes from all the team.

Pottery! Trench rivalry! (Or is that trench warfare.) Features! Sounds very good. Thank you!

Diane S Ratliff

Now that was awesome 😎. Keep it coming! Thanks 😊

Richard Yoast

Thanks - these are about as good as it gets for being able to participate from thousands of miles away.

Carrie Beesley

I’m struggling with understand the speaking because the audio isn’t amazing but I’ll take it! It’s cool being behind the scenes in near real-time

Richard Yoast

Question: how do you train yourselves to "see" or "find" what you're not looking for or have been professionally trained to see or find. I suspect that any place you go where others have been before there are likely to be clues left about the past - and over a wide span of time.

2026-09-08 22:00 When they are showing the pottery I was like ‘this is it! It’s really time team!’

Bob and Pam

Too bad they don't show a layout of the overall dig then show where the trenches are located and why the trenches were placed where they are.

sigterm

Guys, you are such a teasers! I want to be spoilered! ;) No ... really ... I can't wait to see the finds coming up ... I can#t wait to see the puzzle coming together. ARGH ... I'm so on time team - turkey!

Michael Louk

YOU TWO ARE KILLING IT!!!! Great job!

Daniel Gower

On yr next update, can you ask some of the original team “what are the biggest differences between then and your experience now on this 2021 dig?”

Richard Moss

Fantastic! That's certainly whetted the appetite. Great to get these teasers with more to come.

Elise Norwood

So much fun! Can’t wait to see the full presentation, but these teasers are delightful; like gently shaking the birthday presents to try to guess what’s inside.

Harry DeLong

Wind noise is at times so strong I cannot hear what is being said. Other than that, I am enjoying!

Jack D Stout

Love you guys' presentations. Very fun and behind the scenes-y. Thanks for holding back the spoilers but giving us a glimpse of stuff. That pot sherd is the first bit of true artifact for Time Team 2021! Huzzah!

Sonia Hamilton

I found the conversation hard to hear because of the wind.

Wiwikiwi

Thanks for keeping the spoilers out, I really appreciate it. Though I was very excited about the pot. Now I really can't wait to see the new episode.

Zoe Propper

Hang on, John Gater photo(video?)bomb this one....

Rachel Greenham

yeah, you could have *some* spoilers, you know, enough that it doesn't look like a (sunny on day two) washout... i'm just *trusting* that you're pointing the cameras away from all the really interesting stuff! 😜

Ari Wick

Any chance you're able to do a 30-second video with the presenters?

Jon Colcord

That’s coming on the actual Time Team! As they kept saying, NO SPOILERS! 😁

JUDITH COOKE

Amazing. Great to see all the action and hear the enthusiastic comments. Thanks for the-close walk through. I got mud on my boots.

Kathryn

You guys are new to me ( I’ll have to find your podcast), but you are fun and killing it! Thank you!

Kieran Gane

This is the first time that I have seen spades used as accessories.

Kay Theriault

OOOH, excitement abounds! I can't wait to see the finished product :D

Wendy Desjardins

Bad audio, no idea what each trench is looking for or what you are joking about. Why is there no information about anything?

Eggs Ackley

The evening after day two was usually pub night. Please, please give us a video from the pub! I so much want to see Stewart buy a round (but won’t hold my breath.)🍺🍺🍺

Cheryl Kurucz

Wait a minute I want to spoiler lol! Surprise me lol!!!! 🥰😁

Anonymous

Is the lady with the red hair alice roberts sister

Mark Lund

I dont know the presenters, I dont think, & sure they will be great, but these 2 would have been good too, if these videos are anything to go by.

Stephen Southworth

Not generally a good idea to wander around a site with your spade on your shoulder, could have someone eye out due to inattention. Site safety guys!

Andrew Watts

It's a bit like that scene out of the Holy Grail where the Prince tries to start singing but his Dad keeps stopping him! "No! No! No! Enough of that," followed by "No spoilers!" Gave me a giggle. Thanks! :-D

Dave Shaw

If I increase my Patreon subscription level will it be enough to buy some decent mics?

Lacy Oden

I agree that I’d like a tad bit more info. Not full spoilers but just a little more! BUT … the suspense is also great! So excited

Lacy Oden

My constructive criticism for the video is to turn the music down just a tad since I have to turn it up a bit to understand the dialog but then the music comes on and is too loud. But that being said I can understand everything regardless of mic quality and I throughly enjoy these videos :)

Larissa Spiker

Agreed! They are terrific. They are making it fun and enjoyable to watch - and I'm tired just watching them walk!

Justin L Williams

Thank-you, enjoyed the look around the site - get to have Time Team back!

Laura Soto-Barra

Yes! please! some of us have hearing aids!! and music over voice is a bit challenging!

Laura Soto-Barra

I love the walk! It's funny to see them with the shovels! I like the tone and dynamism of the shots.

heith Doty

Why have the 2 guys carrying around shovels seems pointless, not like they are ever going to use them. I get the prop enthusiasm but its not fitting in the words of Tony , seems a bit far fetched to me .

Margie Lewis

good to see Henry, a little older, just a bit

Mark Grisham

It's just a teaser, a walkaround to meet everyone

TimeTeamOfficial

Archaeologists carrying shovels? That would never happen! :)

John Matthew IV

Not sure it makes sense to carry around shovels if they are not going to be used. Are they just heavy props?

heith Doty

Carrying them to use , sure . But they are props. Again why bother

SallyMum

I've been thinking perhaps it's because I'm a Yank (!), but the combination of poor sound and almost unintelligible accents make these videos very annoying to me. Hoping sound can be improved and that regular presenters will be easier to understand!!

Ken McCormack

Keep watching, you'll get the accents eventually! US accents are ubiquitous (Hollywood!), so people from around the globe don't have the same problems understanding people from the US... but Queen's English, please TTers!

Ken McCormack

ps. Could you understand Phil Harding?

Ken McCormack

Just a note from a fan who does audio mastering - processing sound requires some time and considerable effort - so quick videos do have less than broadcast quality sound But TBH I can hear it just fine... turn it up, everyone
