Is this the piece Dani and Matt found yesterday?

Shirlene Reid

These 3D models are awesome!!! Enlarging it is fascinating as you can see every tiny detail. Thanks for sharing this with us

Ann Wagner

Wow, Phoenician? Amazing!

Stephanie Stewart

It still amazes me how diversified the finds can be and how well traveled people were.

Elizabeth Ackermann

Very cool tech. It’s great to see these close up and to be able to really examine the artifact. Hope there are more great finds to come!

David Boon

Absolutely wonderful. Feeling privileged to be accessing this on the other side of the world. I can see the educational benefits of these models. Is it possible to link different models together in any way? Imagine being able to look at the location of this find in a trench and then pick it up to examine it.

A phoenician pottery rim on a british iron age site? Sounds really significant to me ... but isn't this the site, where they found this delicate samian ware? But this phoenician pottery travelled a lot farther than the samian ware ... this is getting more and more intriguing!

Bob Benton

fantastic excuse my ignorant but is the pot wheel thrown ?

Pat Findlay

It feels as though you are actually holding it

Bob and Pam

This 3D modeling is really awesome.

Michael Schneider

This is amazing technology…. Really love how o can zoom in for a close look

Hunt

The quality of these models is great - so much detail. Is it displayed the way it would have fitted into the pot? I'm trying to picture it whole.

Ann H

AI pottery analysis would be cool with visuals of comparable pottery from other sites.

Ann H

What's the estimated date?

Simon Orchard

Evidence of the Phoenician tin trade with Britain, very nice indeed.

Robert Wise

The edges look pretty worn? I love the 3-D view. They appear seamless! How are these put together?

Graham Dombkins

Phoenician? This place has a story to tell.

Elise Norwood

You are all doing a fantastic job! Years (and years!) ago I got to participate in excavating a Roman villa in the Cotswolds and was privileged to trowel up ... cow teeth! But it was still a wonderful experience; just like this is. Thank you!

Jude Edling

Is that the chunky bit that Matt found yesterday? This is amazing! I keep using that word but it really is that glorious combination of delight and bafflement.

Anne Dexter

Now this one works no problem. Shame the trench 3D doesnt

Larissa Spiker

Technology is wonderful, isn't it? Thank you for sharing these finds with us.

Simone Fritzen

Would it be possible to show us (later) the "complete" image ot the pottery?

Freda Bradley

I absolutely love this technology. I teach history to college students, and this allows me to show them an item without ever leaving the classroom--a layer we couldn't provide before.

Carole Cox

Amazing Phonecian pottery made it to Bronze/ Iron Britain.

Lacy Oden

This technology is so amazing!!! 😍 thank you for the access

Don Cook

try going back to it...mine took forever to load, then it was fine.

Amy Krause

The lines on this piece of pottery are ancient and yet so elegant, ergonomic even. I never would have noticed that just watching the Dig Watch clip. Love this!

David Thorndike

That way of looking st objects and items is just great.

Kathryn

Are those thumbprints along the rim on the backside?

Rebecca Kalal

This is so cool - I’ve cast this up to my big screen from my phone and now I’m having such fun looking at the sherd (shard?) and flipping it around. Thanks from California USA.

Paul Brekke

Wow! That looked super real on my screen! This brings the finds so much closer! I wish we'd had this technology with the old Time Team episodes - imagine seeing the Ogham script from the Isle of Man episode like this!!

Donna Holt

LOVE this!!! More, please
