It's the end of Day Three of Dig One and thank you everyone for making Time Team's return a reality. Please give yourselves a big round of applause!

As we hoped, it has turned out to be a truly incredible site, with plenty of twists and turns on the way. You'll see the full story in the finished programme in due course.

But that doesn't mean that our behind-the-scenes coverage of the Cornwall dig has finished. On the contrary, we're just getting warmed up, with lots more interviews, Q&A sessions, mini masterclasses, walkabouts, 3D models and banter to share with you over the coming days, so stay with us as more of the story unfolds.

Don't forget to keep a look out for Digger Cam, filmed today in the trench of your choice.

We're also listening to all of your feedback, working on improvements and refining the offering for the next dig.

Thanks again for all your support and best wishes from Tim and the team.

Mark Cooke

Sounds like lot to catch up on

Sarah Holloway

It’s been wonderful and we can’t wait to see what you have to show us !

Sarah Jane

Amazing a BIG well done everyone

Simon Piggott

Welcome back - it is a pleasure to see it reinvigorated after the period away. Different, interesting and definitely Time Team

Matthew Adams

Congratulations to all concerned on what looks to have been a tremendous dig/shoot. Really looking forward to seeing the programme, and, in the due course, reading the reports etc.

Brian Mackie

Would love to know - how do you leave a site afterwards? Do you fill in the trenches? If so, is that another day of work, for another part of the crew? The one thing we never see on the programmes....

Dagmar Brugger

looking so much forward to the film/episode! and all the other information, interviews etc. still coming!

Ann Wagner

Congratulations on getting near the end of a new day three, and sharing so much of the process without spoiling the show for anyone. Quite an accomplishment for you all! I Can hardly wait to see all the remaining social media things, and of course the program itself. As we say around here, ya done good! Thank you for helping us all in Patreon land to feel included.

Mieke Kemper

So great to see modern technologie helping out. Ive seen all the episodes over and over again and asked myself how great it would be to look at those sights with todays knowledge. Welkome back! I hope u've had a great time. Cant wait for the outcome. (When was the next dig again? 😀)

Trish Murphy

Congratulations. The teasers are all smiling faces so it will be interesting to see if it's just because they’re all happy to be together again or if a reflection of the success of the dig (or both). Thank you for including us and thank you in advance for not forgetting us as video, models & other interesting content is developed. I’m very proud to have joined up since the beginning ✌️💚

Hunt

Fantastic. Simply amazing that Time Team is back!

Nicholas & Elizabeth Dyer

It's been so enjoyable watching these snippets, can't wait for the release of the first episode. Welcome back Time Team!

Mark Freestone

I’m quite emotional and I wasn’t even there! Well done everyone involved..it’s been amazing to feel part of Time Team after all these years!

Julie Gray

These small glimpses just help to fill in so much of what an episode has to leave out. Please keep them coming.

Jonathan Eisen

Looks like you guys did a super job as usual. Thanks for giving us superfans these sneak peeks. I'm proud to have been a tiny part of it and am so looking forward to the return of one of the greatest tv shows of all time.

Richard Barnes

Congratulations Time Team! It’s been fab following you through the weekend… keep the content coming, we are loving it!

Julie Ball

Awww thats lovely. Thank you Team and I for one cannot wait to see the results.

Michael Lyons

Super happy that Tim is happy. The tease bits and all were great. Cannot wait to see the final results and the film. Cheers all!

Martin Packer

Glad it worked out. What has occurred to me is you're not necessarily stuck with under an hour TV time. You could got to 3 x 45 minutes or maybe 3 x 30 minutes. Times 2 digs. That's a mini series of 6 episodes.

Jeanne Peskett

What a thoroughly intriguing site. My trowel hand has been twitching all weekend with all those teasing snippets. Still as my friend Claire says, "it's always good to leave people wanting more!" Can't wait to see the finished film. My neck of the woods next 🙂.

the polish dude

Thanks for all your hard work Tim, now get some rest!

Kay Theriault

Fantastic! Hard to believe that the weekend and the digs are already over! I just have to pinch myself to recall that this's really happening. I've loved all the little videos and vignettes that've come out over the weekend, and just having that behind the scenes view is so awesome! Thanks, Tim and Time Team!

Bob Pockney

Thank you Tim for your key role in making this happen along with all the others involved. I feel it's a privilege to help in a small way

Ian Kent

Big well done to Tim and the team 👏

Diane S Ratliff

What a great weekend 🙂. Good to hear from Tim. Can't wait for more.

Kevin Mc

Fantastic stuff. Thanks to Tim & all the team. Thrilling to be a part of this.

Elizabeth Ackermann

This has been fantastic! Really looking forward to seeing more. A million thanks for allowing TT’s fans to be a part of this ❤️

Valerie O' SULLIVAN

It has been so exciting and fascinating watching all the behind the scenes content. The enthusiasm of the team is truly wonderful to see.

Elise Norwood

Fabulous! You’ve all got my backing for as long my finger can click the mouse!

Amy Roos

This is even better than new Time Team episodes! This has been a blast to follow, and I look forward to continuing to do so!!!

Frank Weggelaar

It's been real fun getting all the small updates but I'm so looking forward to the full episode! It's was a bit surreal to see all the work being done and knowing that I've had a small part in making this happen with my patreon contribution.

Janie Waters

AND the good thing is ... there's another dig coming :) Life's good when you're a closet archeologist. I can't wait to see the finished film; the frustration has been tidbits but no substance. Hurry. I'm growing older by the day :D

Beth Ford

I have enjoyed all the little videos this weekend, but I really can’t wait to see the full program! Sounds like it was a great dig.

Geoff Lusk

It’s been fun getting the updates from the field throughout this weekend. Thanks for putting this all together. I can’t wait to see the finished film!

Richard Moss

It's so great to have played a part in making this happen. Looking forward to seeing much more.

Richard Linley

Thank you so much, Tim, producer extraordinaire. A person who clearly cares for his work. Congratulations to all of the Team on bringing it all back to life. Very much looking forward to the continuing features, the edited result of the weekend's dig, and to more archaeology after that.

Rachel Greenham

i think the time constraint on the final programme - like the 3 days on the site - is a useful constraint that helps with focusing the narrative. that said, the original did *occasionally* break it. There was at least one two-parter I think. Also, with any luck, we'll have an hour *without* ad breaks 😉 and one thing i think they certainly can do now (someone actually said it) is lots of extras, so the stuff that doesn't make the cut, in particular for time/narrative reasons, isn't lost. we get it anyway.

Elaine P

Thank you, Tim and the Team, for coming back together and for being so willing to take time to create and share all these extra bits with us fans. All of it is fascinating, and done with such great humor. Can't express how much this is appreciated. Looking forward to seeing the final film, but the extras still to come.

Stephen Walls

It's a wonderful feeling knowing us Patreon subscribers have helped in bringing back Time Team.

Michael Schneider

Congratulations Tim for your vision and perseverance to bring back our beloved show. To the whole crew old and new, well done. Time for a pint, a glass of Chardonnay and think that Robin, Ian, Mick and Victor are toasting you as well!!!

Jude Edling

Thank you Tim, all of Time Team, and Derek & Lawrence for the marvelous glimpses of the dig. Tim, you look gleefully knackered. It's time for the pub. Thank you with all my heart. I can hardly wait to see what's coming next.

Amy Krause

Congratulations and thank you to the whole team for the enormous effort it has taken to reach this point. I hope it was an outstanding experience for everyone. And now… a good meal and a rest!

Greg Davies

Thank you Tim and Team! It has been wonderful following the updates this weekend. I can't believe Time Team is back and I had some small part in making it happen. I'm so proud of all the Patreon supporters. We're incredibly lucky to have this opportunity.

Connie L Merchant

Thanks for the wrap, Tim. So glad the site was so fulfilling, with a lot for us to look forward to.

Beth Jones

Nice job everyone! So proud of everyones contribution toward making this happen again!

Mark & Jill Jefson

Thank you all for a marvelous time. We are looking forward to more updates and the final product.

Kathryn

SOOoo proud to be a tiny part of this effort!!!

Ted Vaughan

We might have helped, which we are glad to do. But seeing Time Team back brings joy to all our hearts. Keep up the good work

Ellis Coombs

Time Team is BACK! Very cool!! Enjoyed all the behind the scenes videos, definitely looking forward seeing the first new Time Team episode!!! 😊👍

Magnus Wake

Fantastic, congrats on bringing it all back!

Graham Brown

I agree that you do not want a longer programme if the material does not justify it but at the same time if it does then the format does not require it to be shoehorned into an hour, although an hour on the dig and then shorter specials on things arising from it - conservation of items etc might work equally as well. We always got the “after conservation” or whatever rarely seeing even an inkling of what that involved.

Peter Lee

Am so happy that TT is back and I hope it’s stays forever!! Many thanks to everyone for making this happen.

Kylie Willison

Thank you Tim and the Team, I can't wait to see the first episode. I'm loving all the tantalising glimpses we're getting!! :-)

Pamela Brotherton

This has been fantastic! So excited for more behind the scenes and the finished episode. So happy Time Team is back!!

Sharyle Doherty

Congratulations on the return of Time Team! It’s been wonderful to be able to follow the dig for the past 3 days and get a glimpse behind the scenes. Looking forward to the first episode! Really wonderful!

Cheryl Kurucz

Thank you Tim for making this happen!!! Awesome job Time Team crew! It has been truly enjoyable watching the Patreon post! So happy that there’s more posts to come and the film! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Elizabeth G Schulz

Keep up the great work! Can’t wait to see the finished show!! Have an amazing dig😀

Mel Blunt

Thank you everyone for bringing back TT and for the great innovation of Derek and Lawrence which has added so much to the excitement of all the Patreon members. To see the old and new faces in action behind the scenes adds so much to our enjoyment and makes us part of it. I am sure there is so much information coming out that whether the main episode is extended or not we can see the interesting outtakes on Patreon.

Andrew Gledhill

Great to see Time Team back. Its been fun watching all the behind the scenes videos etc. Really looking forward to see the finished article.

Neil Ford

What a fantastic and groundbreaking achievement to bring back an incredible programme like Time Team. We are so pleased to have been part of the process through Patreon but it is then down to Tim and the whole Time Team to make it happen and it certainly looks like you have done this and incredibly successfully. Cannot wait to see the programme.

Steve Atkins

One (kind of) done and many more to come🤞. Can't wait for the full programme. Dig Watch has been fantastic... My thanks to all who've made this possible.

Keith Jones

Congatulations Tim and everyone ! Echoing all of the above, I'm so glad I decided to be a small part of this. Cannot wait to see all that follows. Well done all, Time for a pint or two!! :-)

Kathryn Wadey

Very pleased with what we have seen already. Looking forward to more digs.

Martin Packer

Agreed with you and @Rachel Greenham. I just think there's latitude for more. I also think that the "Day 1" programme could lead to anticipation of "Day 2" that might be released 3 days or a week later.

Richard Wesson

Well done everyone. Why they cancelled Time Time I will never understand. So glad you decided to bring it back. It may not be the old Time Team, it is the new Time Team but as in life all things change. It is nice to see so many of the old faces, looking forward to seeing the finished program and then the making of the next.

Dave Storetec

Congratulations and I can't wait to watch the finished result.

JUDITH COOKE

I am running out of superlatives but that was the most extraordinary three days I have ever experienced. It has provided lots of amazing memories that will last a long time. Definitely Time Team magic. A privilege to be part of making it happen. Everything seems to have gone without a hitch and achieved what was planned, even exceeding expectations. Warmest congratulations to Tim and everyone else who brought this off so well. Many thanks for the opportunity to participate in this wonderful project, it has been really special. Stay safe, Stay well. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.

Paul Brekke

Thank YOU, Tim and the whole crew, for keeping Time Team alive and making the effort to bring the series back! It's been an honour supporting Time Team's revival, getting all these looks behind the scenes, and I can't wait to see the brand new episodes!! Congratulations on finishing the first new dig - and I hope there will be many, many more! :-)

Steve Duckworth

Fantastic, can’t wait to see the finished programme.

Kate Bromley

It makes me so happy to have Time Team back. Congratulations to everyone!

Mark Lund

Brilliant start...I am so looking forward to seeing the programme. with the results. Any chance of previous experts coming back for a look/comment...Francis P. Guy D.'B? etc?

Goijaart van Dijk

You're welcome! Even while my support is only 5 pounds per month in financial terms, my heart is fully in it! I can't wait for the next one and if I could afford it, I would pay for the lot, only to get more Team Team out there. Not only is it precious television, Time Team is also a valuable instrument to get archeology and history to the broader public. And that is so important, because we all are made of history. Understanding where we are coming from, paves the way to a better future.

Terrence Waddleton

I agree with Richard Wesson why did they stop making Time Team although my wife is not a history fan she really enjoyed watching it, Its not the same when you read about it in books ,being there as it is uncovered and seeing pieces being cleaned ,analysed, and the computer pictures of what the site may have looked like really made it come to life.

Wendy Meredith

Can I make a suggestion. Could you do a run of the Time Team flags with our names on so we can have them for posterity and see our names "in print" as you might say?

Fern Wilcox

No, thank you Tim for giving me the privilege to help bring Time Team back. Re-watching previous programs helped me a great deal during the first year of the pandemic when all seemed unreal and out of control. I am thrilled to be giving something back! And it is so much fun now to be seeing all of the behind the scenes shots, the teasers and seeing familiar (and new) faces. Cheers from Minnesota!

Kat Shelton

Thanks to all the Team! Its been so fun to see bits of the behind the scenes work that goes into making the final product.

Shirlene Reid

Congratulations to everyone involved on TT. Loved every behind the scenes video and I can’t wait to see the completed production

Sarah Holloway

Thanks to all the team and everyone involved with bringing Time Team back . I never thought it would return and am overjoyed to see it again .

Mica McPheeters

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, everybody!!! To go from "Do we even try this?" back in November to a leap of faith in December to "Done!" in September... Really...WOW!! We made it happen! Thank you to all the Patrons who give whatever they can -- especially those who work extra hours or got a side job to do so -- it feels so good to be part of this with you. Sure, we wanted to see our favorite show again, but now we just became part of it (and we were on site!! our names, if not our trowels ;D). Just think...WE are the reason each discovery this weekend was found and is going to be carried into future generations. Yay, us!! And to the whole TT crew: your hard work and long hours these past months and on weekends and in the weeks and months (and years) ahead means so much to us fans -- however far from Britain we live. Where I live in Florida, if I dig, I'm "straight onto the natural" and I certainly won't find remnants of a hypocaust heating system or stains in the ground. You give us all far more than you'll ever know. We love you! I am so flipping excited to see the assembled show (please do a multi-parter or extended edition or lots of special features! I want a classic episode, but I want ALL the rest of the footage, too!) Thank you :D

Dorothy Frank

I want to know this too. I remember a few TT where you promised to put the roses back and the like and I've always wondered if that happened 😄

Dorothy Frank

I agree! Because you aren't being constrained by television slots, and can do what you want ( and already are with these amazing behind the scenes videos!), You could do something a little different. I, for one, tend to look up the site reports over at Wessex to read more details, and see if anything was done to follow up on time team's discoveries.

Priscilla Logan

Thank you guys for a great 3 days I've enjoyed every minute of all of it congratulations you did a great job I can't wait for the next run thank you everyone

Jean Bawcutt

It's been a fascinating three days.. thank you Time Team.. it's great to have you back again!

Mark Howell

I'm so happy to be a tiny part of this great undertaking. Cheers from California to all who donated, and especially to all who worked long and hard to bring Time Team back to us.

Doug Mackey

I’m thrilled. I’m proud. Congratulations, Tim!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Laura Soto-Barra

Thank you for your amazing idea; so proud to be part of this effort; so proud of your choices, Naomi in a fogou!! she's a natural as Matt is, and the wonderful new people who so far seem to fit in so well! I can't wait to see the program. We are in Maryland, we watched the St. Mary's program again, we also have our trowels and certificates handy. And we have our names on the flag!! It's fricking fabulous.

Rachelle Gates

Thank you all for working so hard to bring back Time Team. Can’t wait to see what all of your hard work discovered for us.

Ian Wonnacott

Woohoo well done everyone can’t wait to see it 😊👏🏻👏🏻

Lady of the Leaves

Tim, you are our rock. I hope we don’t have to wait too long for the fougou results! I’m very curious…when do you think the video will be published?

Murray M Wagnon

Thank you for bringing Time Team back! There had honestly been a void, and it is good of you to fill it with this rejuvenated version of Time Team.

Chris Siegmann

So Tim, doing a great job, but honestly communication post dig could be much better. None in fact. You've started well so keep the ball rolling. Please! That said, when do patreons actually get to hear the new hosts? Or do they introduce themselves in the first episode? Cheers and thank you for bringing TT back.

Judi Stewart

Well done, everyone - it's great to see Time Team back! I'm really looking forward to seeing the full video now :)

TimeTeamOfficial

Hi Chris, we have clips of Gus and Natalie in Day Three's site walkabout and some more from them both in our first look highlights on YouTube. Please keep a look out for our Spoil Heap interview with Natalie from the first dig, coming up on Patreon. Thanks

Cassista

One of the things that occurred to me in watching all this content is how many layers of recorded time there are in a lot of these digs. How possible would it be to tell two totally different dig site narratives, but (what a plot twist!) from the same dig?

Michael Taylor

So proud to have been a small part of this incredible achievement. Tim, you've done an incredible thing. Right from the beginning of covid, bringing people back to timeteam, adding new insights, building the community, extending the work Carl is doing on Facebook, using new media and funding models. Amazing stuff!

Chris Siegmann

Thank you. Hadn’t seen that latest YouTube video. Must have missed the email that said it was out. It’s a mix of new stuff and bits and pieces of other footage. Good watching. Cheers
