Can’t recall how I found TT. Prob late night scrolling through TV channels but seeing BG on it, proud w accent and Pounamu showed me our scientists are up there internationally. Gave me respect for our own NZ archaeological work as well as the obvious interest in discovery. Thanks.

Tena koutou katoa from Wellington, New Zealand. What's not to like about Team Team? The show is a perfect blend of personalities, art and science. The locations are great, the experts have wonderful skill in sharing their knowledge, the finds are amazing, and even the bad days are good. What makes it work, however, is the chemistry between the Team members. TT is, by far the best thing on the internet. Ka pai and nga mihi nui.

Amy Singerle

I’m live in the United States and know I don’t qualify but I wanted to chime in and say the 6 in 1 tool pen is awesome. My hubby uses it all the time :).

Sue Murphy

I found TT after having a surgery with complications and was bedridden for some time. TT kept me sane, it blew my socks off. I had no idea I had such a passion until watching this. I watch the series over and over and can live vicariously through the programme. You brought my passion, I didn't knew I had, out! Thank you guys

Steve Punter

Got the TT books, seen the series repeatedly on History Channel, got the DVD's, can't get enough of it. Looking forward to the new series. We don't have much archaeology here in NZ - and some of it disputed and controversial (!) so a bit starved. Time Team led me to Frances Pryor's books and Dr Alice... Managed to find a copy of The Time Team Guide to the History of Britain on Amazon and waiting for that to arrive. Don't stop :-)

David de Groot

I've been a long time TT watcher from Brisbane, Australia. In fact, many of the places we visited in the UK in 2013 were because of previous TT episodes. I know my wife also loves TT.

John Aitchison

Hi there from Dunedin New Zealand. I have been following time team for a number of years. We are a young country compared with the northern hemisphere history. Always loved the history story that is found and how the time team have explained it. Keep up the great work.

Wayne Maycock

I've been watching TT from the start, from when I lived in the UK. I'm constantly watching repeats now I live in Western Australia. Seeing everyone grow, Alice Roberts, Raksha Dave and Bettany Hughes to name a few, going on to do the own programmes. Also amazing to see how the technology has advanced during the show. I love history, and you guys brought it to the masses, with humour and excitement. Keep it up.

Murray Lee

Hi from Papakura, NZ. My wife and I have watched Time Team for years, and in fact have recently tried to follow the episodes on You Tube. Would love to be part of it, but a bit difficult from this side of the world especially in a pandemic. Keep up the awesome work. Murray and Donna Lee

Sara Amos

I grew up watching Time Team and was so excited by all of the history, it is one of the reasons I became a History Teacher (thank you so much!). I absolutely love that it is now back, it has brought me so much joy watching the video updates with the most recent digs, I love seeing old faces but I’m also pleased to see new members my age who also grew up with TT - makes you feel a part of a larger community that is constantly transforming. Can’t wait for more content!

Susan Strangman

Hi from the Southern Highlands of NSW. I’ve been watching Time Team for decades. I’ve learnt so much about history (not just UK ) and the practice of archeology. I cannot begin to explain the mental health benefits TT given me. I still cry when I rewatch the episode involving Operation Nightingale. Everyone involved with TT feels like a familiar old friend. Thank you for continuing to be a part of my life.

Elizabeth Nickless

Gosh...why I /we love it? There are so many reasons.....history through the ages, great personalities and banter, keeps you sane when under stress, our family have watched it from the beginning, have books, DVDs etc, watched all the repeats many times over and there is always that anticipation and excitement of some amzaing addition to our knowledge of the past and great narratives along the way...... let me count the ways....☺☺

Erica Griffith

I’ve been watching Time Team with my Mum and Dad since it began in the 90s. Of course I was a kid back then. I’ve re-watched episodes every chance I get. I love the stories and the history and the people that make the show. Both Mum and Dad are gone now but when I saw that there was a way to support bringing back the show I had to support it and it became my first ever Patreon!! I’m so proud their names would’ve been represented on the flags at the dig sites they would have loved it. Welcome back Time Team Long may you reign!!

Romana Challans

Time Team was my escape from a toxic relationship. It has been time spent with my children marvelling at the past. It ignited my love of history, and the books and documentaries associated with it (Tony and Francis did some terrific additional work!). When I became disabled later in life due to a car accident, I mourned the (ok unlikely) dream of being part of the team (and yet Patreon has given me a bit of that dream back:) ). In short, I am like all the Antipodean fans; my life is greatly altered for the better, and I am eternally grateful. And that is the prize I have already:)

Rita Baker

I loved TT because the members do not take themselves overly serious whilst they do take archaeology serious and present it in an understandable way that even a layman can grasp. I wanted to study archaeology back in the 1980's but sadly my political views at the time were not aligned with the ruling party in East Germany and so I was forbidden to even sit my A-levels, let alone go to University... I kept my lifelong love for history and now volunteer (when there is no covid) at digs in the UK whenever I can (cause here in NZ it is not really that easy...). Without TT I probably would not have known how much interesting archaeology there is in another country...or indeed I probably would not have travelled to so many corners of the UK....

Elissa Taylor

In Melbourne, as a family we adore it. We have watched each season and all the Unseen Time Team specials. We even got pay tv just to have access! We love it obviously for the archaeology and history but also for the relationships! There are disagreements but always resolved.

Mark Godwin

Hi from Waitahuna, Clutha, South Island, New Zealand. I was hooked on Time Team from the very first original airing in the UK and I'm not at all surprised at its longevity and re-launch. And it's been really great to not only see how the technology has developed over time but to see so many of the team have gone on to be academics/presenters in their own right. "Oh god argh" is now a firmly entrenched saying in our household as is the wearing of baggy pullovers of startling colours. It was a work of pure genius to pair Baldrick as the presenter with the likes of Mick Aston, Carenza Lewis and Phil Harding to name but a few. And it really doesn't matter if the dig doesn't achieve what it set out to do, it's the journey, the "will they/won't they", "is that a temple/Anglo Saxon building", the humour and chemistry between them all, the little insights into everyday life several hundred or thousand years ago, the experimental archaeology etc. And then there's the very obvious passion which they all have for their areas of expertise. Finally, thank goodness for YouTube because watching all those back episodes during lockdowns has been an absolute godsend and now we have the new programmes as well.

Heather Flowers

Here in West Auckland it is fabulous to feel part of the team! Thank you for being my go-to stress reliever for so many years and for the excitement of getting truly involved with the new TT. Only sorry my dad died before it originally started. As a veteran Ordnance Survey surveyor he would have adored Stewart. I just love it all!!

Fox Malcolm

My wife and I have been watching Time Team for as long as it has been broadcast here in Australia on the ABC. We would stop what we were doing any sit down and watch whatever was on [even if it was a rerun], we couldn't get enough of watching shows about archaeology, whether it was Time Team, Timesigns, Tony's Walkabouts, etc, especially loved the specials like the Big Dig. We will miss not seeing Mick, Tony and Phil on the show but large as their presence was, there is more to the show then colourful characters, it is a show of discovery and exploration, a show of origins and progression, it is ultimately a show about who we are and where we have come form and I for one am looking forward to seeing how this new geneses unfolds. . . That, and maybe see if you can figure out that little legal hurdle that is preventing us from fully enjoying the full benefits of our patreon [grins]

Azarel Howard

Time Team brought life to history at a time when I most needed it. Living in Australia there's not a lot of archaeology stuff happening. And as a teen learning history it really helped seeing people who were genuinely passionate about history and archaeology working to uncover lost era's and preserve there record.

Katherine Moody

I've been a fan of Time Team since the beginning when I lived in the UK and now I live in NZ it is not only a reminder of the UK, it has been a comfort to me through illness and I love the familiarity of the concept and the team who feel like old friends. I love the history and the discovery, the camaraderie and fun, and the ever evolving technology and hair styles.

Mark Brown

Watching Time Team gives me a new appreciation of British history. Learning new things about how society developed or how civilisations interacted from Time Team makes things come to life and is entertaining

Vicki Russell

I fell in love with archaeology when I first saw Time Team with Mick, Tony, Phil and the other guys. I loved watching as you uncovered the history of the land you were in at the time. I missed watching it when it ended. I watch my DVDs all the time and even when I go to my mother in laws I get to watch the show there as well. Even my husband loves watching it.

Richard Ebbs

I love the sense of expectation, I love the finds, I love the reconstructions, I love the accents, I love the jumpers, I love the banter, I love the discussions over a pint in the local but most of all I love that Time Team is back!

M R MaMellow

I Nominate thas Lady 😽🤴🏼 She Is an True Queen of Life,🥝🇬🇧🏺😻🍵

Bronwyn McBride

I love time team because its fascinating and all the people involved are so passionate and love sharing this in a relatable way

Robert O'Bryan

Hi from Melbourne Australia, have always loved the show and cant wait for the new episodes. This programme takes you to another time and place .

Dire

I grew up watching Time Team. I love history and I love Time Team because it investigates rather than simply regurgitating what is already known. Britain and Europe are very lucky to have such a superabundance of physical history both standing and in the ground. Australia has always been very sparsely populated, and, beyond cave paintings, the first people haven't left a much of a footprint - or not one which survives at least. Which is sad.

Stuart Campbell

Hello from down under in Melbourne. I discovered Time Team nearly 20 years ago and have watched it over and over many times through the years. I even managed to have my daughter watch it with me at times when she was quite young. Great to see Time Team being restarted and wonderful to be able contribute to it and see all the additional details that are available to us.

Robyn Williams

It is a long time since my last dig in New Zealand in the 1980s but Time Team brings it all back. My towel fingers twitch as the trenches are examined - I want to climb in there for just a little clean to get a clearer view of a section or deposit change - the kinds of subtle things that cameras don't capture especially well. I didn't discover Time Team until the series was well advanced - but I have now watched it in both Australia and Canada. A friend copied episodes from her recordings and gave me a set - and then I scour the internet for more episodes. I am so happy that the series has been revived via Patreon and can only hope that maybe some television entrepreneur will get the message and bring it back on public television. As a former professional archaeologist in New Zealand, I think it has done an amazing job in educating the public about what archaeology is all about - not the goodies (although always exciting) but the information gained through painstaking study of layers and landscape. To work on a dig is always an adventure - you never know what is going what your trowel is going to reveal next.

Kernowes

I'd like to nominate my brother John who lives in Adelaide, South Australia. We watched Time Team with our Dad when we were growing up. We love it. He sometimes finds it on TV in Oz and is desperately trying to convert his children to the Time Team ways! Would love it if this prize could go to him as I miss him terribly and this would be like sending a piece of home, and our childhood, over to him! 🤞🏽

Jennifer Giddins

I love Time Team for the facts and information that it has given me, and the helpful information has help me with my own archaeological studies. I first saw Time Team on TV in London 2006 and fell in love with it ever since. I grew up with my father studying Egyptology and this is what started my interest in archaeology but having visited the UK and watching Time Team it broaden my horizon and encouraged me too study other fields.

Andrew Godden

Hello from rainy Melbourne (springtime weather subject to change without notice). One of the things that got us through lockdown in 2020 was watching our box sets of Time Team and when we got through that, finding all the related content on YouTube, with the recent Waterloo dig being a personal favourite. My wife credits the show for rekindling her interest in archeology and history and when we saw it was coming back, signing up to support it was a no brainer. Thank you all for the work you have put in to make this possible. Looking forward to the new episodes!

Gary Mortimer

Oi, I am in the Southern Hemisphere as well, does South Africa not count! The very cheek of it. (To be fair I did have the Patreon stuff sent to my son in Somerset as it probably would have all gone missing being sent to here) Keep up the good work.

Stephen

I can't remember when I first watched Time Team. My first thought was something along the lines of Archaeology.... how boring. As I reached for the remote to surf away my hand inexplicably stopped as if under the power of an unseen force and as the seconds turned into minutes I was dragged into the event that was unfolding before me. All thoughts of the remote were gone and at the end of the show I was left begging for more. I had always been interested in history. I had always been interested in the artefacts. Now I was also interested in how they were found.

bookworm422

Time Team's a favorite of mine because of it showcases a bunch of passionate, knowledgeable people and let's you accompany them as they learn even more.

David Boon

Hello from Hobart, Tasmania in Australia. Time Team was our go to program when my children were growing up. So Time Team is about family and warm memories. As a primary educator I have used clips from time-team with students to help them explore their own history and I am now transferring those approaches into my current work updating the Australian curriculum for history. Time Team members, like Stewart Ainsworth, are really just people who maintained a five year-old’s capacity to recognise visual patterns in their surroundings. Using maps, photos and reading the terrain, just like Stewart, a group of Tasmanian 11 year olds identified where the graves were located on what had been a cemetery but was now part of their playground. So Time Team is about education and my passion for inspiring the next generation to investigate the past. Finally, since Time Team left our screens, I have developed an interest in DNA and look back on my box set collections of Time Team digs in a new light. I used to have my favourite time periods investigated by the team but, when you discover your Y-DNA dates back to the first hunter gatherers in Britain after the last ice age, flint knapping takes on a whole new meaning. When your maternal grandfather’s Y-DNA resulted from Viking DNA that ended up in Cornwall, a dig in Cornwall takes on personal meaning. When your mitochondrial DNA is also a result of Viking settlement in the Lake District you realise Time Team is in your DNA. I may be down under but my DNA is buried in the soil of Britain.

Kylie Willison

As a genealogist I was already a history buff but watching Time Team has added a whole new dimension to my knowledge and love of history. I always held out hope for a Time Team reboot so I was over the moon when it was announced. Being able to support it financially and watch it all unfold just makes it even more special. From South Australia.

Sandra Torrey

Fantastic to see the team working together, really enjoying the banter, discussions and the history. Looking forward to more Time Team.

Deborah Hide-Bayne

Kia ora from the sunny Coromandel in Aotearoa New-Zealand. My family will bear testimony to the fact that I have been on the Time Team journey with you all since Series 1, Episode 1. I feel that like Tony, l started completely ignorant but now I know my geo phys from my ground-penetrating radar! I’ve enjoyed the archaeology but also the cameraderie and friendship along the way. Love TT!

David Dryburgh

I find the TT presentation of UK pre-history and neo-history just fascinating. Can't get enough of it!

Gavin Magill

Another passionate Kiwi Time Team fan here living on the sunny Coromandel. My wife and I watched Time Team on free to air tv back in the day and absolutely loved the format and presenters. Fast forward to roughly six months ago and we were rapt to discover Time Team on Youtube and could rediscover the joy of watching this show all over again. Time Team video's on Youtube are our go to show for an quiet evening at home. For me personally, with the benefit of being able to watch multiple episodes in a more compressed timeframe, I have learnt considerably more about the timeline of British archeology history. Each episode allows me to indulge my interest in history and archeology vicariously through the dig-de-jeur. The icing on the cake has of course been discovering that Time Team is coming back and that we could support this happening via Patreon. We are incredibly excited and looking forward to the release of the finished shows from the two "new" digs. The video's being shared via the Patreon page are just whetting our appetite. We are hoping that more digs will eventuate with the help of the world wide support base. A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone involved.

andrew collins

Hi been big fan since watching time team when struggling with my first baby trying get her to sleep all night time team matched her sleep pattern one episode when settle kept me from going insane in a trying time .I only live 40 mins away from Bridget in mount Maunganui amazing Nz link has been amazing

Romana Challans

Kylie helped my enthusiasm for TT too, and she is a history genius (imho!).

Steve Burgess

I love TT. Been a fan since the beginning (it was a bonus that Baldrick was the pesenter haha). I've always been fascinated by ancient history and TT brought it to life, with the knowledge and relatability of all the experts, and most especially Sir Tony's style that made him our questioning voice. Since moving from the UK to NZ I have married a Kiwi lass and, thanks to the reruns on YouTube, she is also now a fan. That's the reason I became a Patreon member...TT still has more to offer to a whole new audience! Looking forward to the new episodes!

Jennifer Melides

Hi from Sydney. I am amazed at the number of people who mention the relief they receive from stress by watching the show. It is cathartic. Almost an extension of your own family. Thank you for reinventing it to include those of us who are fans.

Pamela Langridge

I love Time Team! I've always been fascinated with archaeology, and Time Team lets me have all the fun of learning and discovery without any of the dirt! 😆

Stephen C

I loved the mate-ship, the cups of tea, the cheerfulness, the way the stories were told using words and pictures, the enthusiasm and of course the finds. However even when there were little finds the stories that were told drove the imagination. I love the way time team made me feel, connected to the country of my ancestors.

Samantha Blackley

Think I must have watched every episode of Time Team over the years - love the passion for history, the joy of discovery - I've been so happy to discover this new incarnation & be part of the team, even in a tiny way!

Fiona Murray

Hi! I'm from Broken Hill in Australia! We have so much history here, but I've been hooked on Time Time for a very long time! I used to rush home from work to catch Time Team whenever it was on! More recently I've been watching and re-watching as often as I can :) I am fascinated by the history and what you have found over the years, also find it very soothing and relaxing after a long day at work <3 I'm so glad that Time Team is back!

Eve-lyn Kennedy

I have loved the show since day 1. Like Fiona I’m from Broken Hill in Australia. We live in the first heritage listed town in Australia and as a kid I’d go digging in the old town dump for treasures. I still have ink pots, ceramic toothpaste jars and lots of bottles. I have recently spied an old dump out bush that I might have a go at and do time team mockumentary. Should be fun. I saw a phot of the original team first series the other day and wow… anyway love the old team and the new team and the discoveries. Was watching the ground penetration and couldn’t but think of the kilometres walked in the past now they just drive…how easy the young have it. Ok must stop. Cheers Ev.

Michelle Edhouse

Hi Michelle from Rotorua in NZ, I only discovered Time Team last year and binged watched everything I could find. I love the joyful nature of the people and the learning of something I have no knowledge about. The mix of exploring and discovery with the history and knowledge. So grateful for the chance to support more of this massive gift in the world! Thank you all!

Maureen Sherry

Gday from Lockdown in Sydney. I’ve been watching TT since it started showing in Australia and always enjoy it and learn something. It led to me doing an ancient history degree and I can’t wait to see more, maybe I’ll go for a masters. Just wish I could still watch it, but already have too many streaming apps. I’d rather support more episodes on Patreon . Hope I can watch the new episodes in full.

Jo Cosgriff

G'day from Melbourne. I've loved Time Team since I first heard of it and always think of it as my favourite TV show ever. It has all my favourite things - science, history, British countryside & accents. I've been especially obsessed about Roman Britain since a visit to Bath when I was about 8. I was so pleased to hear you were coming back that I signed up as a Patron immediately.

Steve Atkins

I'm a Kiwi living in Rural Rangitikei NZ. I first saw Time Team in the early 2000's and have watched most episodes at least twice and into 3rd and 4th on some now. I've always been interested in ancient History and TT brought it to life for me. I got a great deal of pleasure watching the skill of people like Phil teasing the information out of the ground, the way that the team stuck to their principles in working thru what they were seeing and even the skill of Ian (RIP) the excavator operator whose precision had to be admired. Was great to see a Kiwi involved to. Mick was obsessed with doing it right and respectfully, and brought archeology to the unwashed masses (like me) and I'm sure would take great pleasure in his legacy continuing the way it is. My thanks to all involved today and the future. Can't wait to see the finished article (no pressure 8-D)

Stephen Bowness

I love Time Team because the stories are told by people who know what they are talking about, have a passion for their subjects, share that passion with us all and clearly enjoy each other’s company.

Andrew Lamb

Time Team was and again is my life again. Watched every episode when I lived in the UK. The “smell of” newly dug trenches, the brilliant Stewie A. and his landscape analysis (and a fellow Leeds United fan!). Matt and his love for the dig! John Gator for his brilliant Geophysics! Helen G for her unsepassed Anglo Saxon expertise (and English rose looks). Cardenas, oh! how we missed her passion in the later years!! (superb archaeologist). Tim Taylor, you came out from behind the camera and have been a joy to watch and listen too!!!

Nick Balmer

There is a huge amount of archaeological potential in New Zealand that is largely overlooked. As a Pom, I spent a year (1979) living near Thames, and the locals were amazed at what I could find field walking in the Coromandel amongst all the old logging camps, gold mines and tracks. Archaeology doesn't have to be ancient, and New Zealand is changing so fast (look at how the Coromandel is being built over so fast these days) that much of your history will have gone within a few decades, if people don't go and look for it now.

Grant Daly

I have been watching time team for over 12 years as I love brittish history and I love the digs and the insights that time team have done and offered over the years. I'm not a big reader of books so a lot of my information has been gathered from time team and other like shows. I have always liked Tony Robbins too, even in his Blackadder days

Graham Dombkins

I’m no expert but I love the sense of discovering history and the stories both big and small that time team bring. I’ve watched and enjoyed TT for decades, that’s why I was more then happy to support them under this new endeavor. Nothing quite beats watching experts in their field do their thing and at the same time bring the rest of us along for the ride.

Rowena Sweeney

.Hello from Launceston (NOT the one in Cornwall !) .I first heard of time team while napping on my bed. Very vaguely through my snooze I could hear a voice from the telly, and my then 8 year old daughter laughing. Suddenly I heard this raucous voice saying " oooo, I LOVE JUGS !" and thought what the heck was she watching ? ( I thought it was a Carry On movie at first) lol. So I got up and for 20 minutes, I really thought I was watching a comedy show. The next week, there they were again ! This odd collection of eccentric archaeologists in my lounge room ! I was addicted after that. I ofyen leave my tv on all night, so I would often be in a sort of half sleep when morning came and I had wonderful time team " dreams" . I have sketched with Victor, wandered around with Stuart, dug up my garden with John, trod in Phil's trench... held deep conversations with Mick. Oh the fun

Greg & Leah Ross

G'day from hervey bay Australia. I have been been watching time team since it was first shown in Australia. It has been a constant in my life the whole time. I was shattered when I heard that the show was ending so you can understand my excitement when I heard that Tim was getting the band back together. I immediately became a patreon member. I can't wait for the new episodes to be released and am looking forward to many more in the future 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Gill Palmer

I’m nominating my bloke Bill. Even though it’s my name on the Patreon subscription we’re in it together. Bill teaches classics at high school here in NZ and I wanted to be an archaeologist when I was a kid (until a teacher said ‘there’s no archaeology in New Zealand - rubbish of course) and we both love the characters, the (scholarly) arguments, the insights, and THE ARCHAEOLOGY! We’ve watched Time together since it first screened here and we’ve probably watched every episode at least twice… surviving on reruns once it finished. Time Team got us through some hard nights when our kids were tiny…. Thank you Time Team.

JUDITH COOKE

From Melbourne Australia and a dedicated fan for many years. I love Time Team because it makes learning fun and archaeology accessible and meaningful to a wide audience possessing differing levels of knowledge and experience. I love that it is like participating in an adventure of discovery of our ancestral roots with a group of friends. It has opened up the full extent of human history and brought to life the peoples of the Palaeolithic to more recent times. Time Team has made major contributions to archaeology and established a priceless legacy for future research and preservation of our irreplaceable heritage. Time Team has remained abreast of new developments in technology and used them to facilitate and enhance its ability to operate effectively in current circumstances. It has successfully made use of crowd-funding to ensure independence of action and to extend individual participation. Time Team has risen magnificently to the ongoing crisis, meeting numerous challenges and has achieved the seemingly impossible during a world-wide pandemic. It has undeniably demonstrated its continuing relevance and value to the broader population with unparalleled brilliance and determination. I have nothing but the deepest admiration and gratitude for every single person involved. Time Team has become a spectacular global phenomenon, opening up endless exciting possibilities in years to come. I especially love that Time Team magic is alive and well.

phil creaser

As a geologist/palaeontologist (who did some 'Geofizz' many years ago), I wish the archaeologists would stop picking on John Gater. He and his team do a fantastic job and all he gets is rude comments about his work!

phil creaser

Oops. I pressed send before adding......Seriously. EVERBODY does a great job and it is a real pleasure to see them all (or most of them) back in action. Really looking forward to seeing the programs from the digs.

Tom Gooden

I love Time Team, but is tricky to be specific. I think there is differently some “magic” in there ! I think part of it is :

Tom Gooden

oops I sent accidently. 1. Interesting locations. 2. Lovely people who are experts 3. Friendship between the participants. 4. Excellent production. 5 Great story telling. 6. Top archaeology.

Tom Gooden

I did it again. Its just bloody magic mate ! Tom from Melbourne

Chris Gallop

Well I'm not much of a story teller but I've been watching time team for as long as I can remember. It's been such an eye opening experience watching the show and learning about the history behind each dig. I've even got my partner enjoying it as she had never seen Time Team before but she's now addicted to it as well, she also loves art so I combined those and purchased one of the late Victor Ambrus books Drawing on Archaeology for her as a birthday present.

Kevin Morris

i have loved time team from the beggining . i just love history and especially history around europe and uk. the amount that is hidden under the ground is awesome and i love when time team original uncovered the old mosaic ruins and they were just marvellous
