We've had a fun week, looking through the countless clips recorded over last weekend's dig. We have plenty more behind the scenes moments still to share, starting with this one from the afternoon of Day One as Hilde discusses the progress of an exciting trench.

Getting to know the digers would be goodrather then not looking at a trench 🐾

jenny handscombe

I'm sorry but I am finding this all just a tad pointless....when do we, if at all, get to share what is discovered??

Anthony cotton

Can't wait for the cameras to be pointed at the archeology

Zoe Propper

Lovely little teasers, looking forward to the episodes 😊

Peter

Agree, I would want to know more about the diggers themselves👍🏻 Maybe a nice idea for future digs? But well done guys, considering it was the first two times. I’m sure the format will evolve with every new episode. 👍🏻👍🏻

"If at all"... Good grief! When they have managed to go through the 45+ hours of footage and cut a coherent, interesting story of one hour out of it. Which will take them around a month by the estimates I have seen. Video editing is not a "snap your fingers and it's done" ten minutes job, for crying out loud!

sigterm

AAAARRRRRRGGHHHH! You're such teasers! I can' wait until the main show ... I totally went cold turkey on TT. ;)

Lewis Buckingham

It looks like they've found a mosaic - comments about brushes and "finding a floor". It's not surprising they want to keep an air of mystery for the eventual episode.

Ann H

More on anticipated period finds for non Roman sites? Roof tiles 101 would be lovely. A dig 3 period gingerbread house suddenly came to my mind, a symptom of too much isolated time of late.

Mark Grisham

It's going to be worth the wait, Jenny. Hang in there

Mieke Kemper

To bad a sponge doesnt make any noise while cleaning up a mosaic? 😁

John Matthew IV

A roof and a floor! We'll have to wait for the final product to see if there were any walls.

Elizabeth Ackermann

Fun to watch these guys get a bit giddy about a trench. I’m looking forward to seeing the final program, but really enjoying these little tidbits while the post-production team is hard at work.

Robert Wise

Good to see Derek and Lawrence again, and to meet Hilde …

Kieran Gane

Hilarious. Filming stopped because the archaeology is just too good to resist.

Murray M Wagnon

Ooohh . . . Can't wait to see this one. It's like shaking the presents under the tree before Christmas!

john reames

its either a mosaic or the bath house, or both. =)

Mark Cooke

It's a different thing ones modern short you tube style hand held up close and quick to respond, free and the other is a tv documentary where theederting and structure help and are needed. That’s what I thought we were getting .

Peter Lee

Nah. It was a floating roof.

Priscilla Logan

Well, I can't wait to see what Derek and Lawrence is talking about I'm also thinking mosaic wouldn't that be fun?😀

Kay Theriault

Roof tiles and floor tiles? That means there might be...more tiles! Hypercaust?! :D

Kathryn

“Stop having fun off-camera!” LOL - too true :-)

Joel Johnston

I’ve been aware of Time Team for years, but only in the last week stumbled on to the older episodes on YouTube. So glad Time Team has been revived: intelligent scientific “content” is so rare. Keep up the good work!

Cheryl Kurucz

Oh my gosh a roof and floor next things are going to say if they have a wall! Lol!!!! I love these little teaser videos! So much fun. Thank you Time Team!

Michael Sperry

I'm guessing mosaic... a really, really good mosaic.

L0j1k

I am in love with this woman.

Gill Palmer

What!? You can’t just wander off out of shot…you’re just having fun with us….I mean, it’s a mosaic right….

Jude Edling

Delightful! You just can't help yourself, can you?

Amy Singerle

Oh I hope mosaic or bath house or something. You could hear the clink clink. It’s really fun to think about what they are digging. It builds the anticipation and it’s so fun to see everyone enjoying themselves. I also like the trench competition. On the old time teams it was fun to see who had the more exciting trench.

Cassista

Hey, do you think you could wear shinier sunglasses so I can see the reflextion of what's behind the camera? If I just squint.....

David Boon

Loved this and hoping more interviews were recorded during both digs that will be shared.

Dorothy Frank

Finally got a chance to watch. Ha ha you guys! Glad you are so gleeful, that's a good sign.

Margarida M

Clunky click? Like the sound a trowel makes scraping stone or mosaics?
