Alex Huxley

I had a beer - Cheers everyone! Not drunk in weeks.

Jonathan Eisen

This is amazing. Seeing the old faces, hearing the classic music. It gives me chills.

Richard Hines

Fantastic. 100% done the right thing by keeping: Pre-title sequence…. Inc. “just 3 days….” Original music First background music as zooming in on location map.

Conan Mills

I think there is something in my eyes. This is fantastic!!

Jeannine Hardiman

Love it! So exciting to see the originals and the new faces. Can’t wait for the whole show.

Adam F.

Absolutely awesome. I had to stop myself a few minutes in as I don't want to spoil anything! Love it so far, and keep up the great work!

Rose Phoenix

Yeay! This is what I have been waiting for since Time Team ended. *claps hands with glee* Eagerly awaiting next weekend now!

Larissa Spiker

Oh my goodness. I knew I had missed the show and was excited to see it come back, but I had no idea how much until about 5 minutes in. I found myself waiting with baited breath and tearful as the prologue and intro music began. <3 I'm beyond excited and can't wait to see the rest of this!

Doug Mackey

The ecstasy started early: Opening graphics and music are the same! I got chills—and a tear to the eye. Also, thrilled to hear more classic TT music along the way! Bravo!

Maria Burns

Brilliant!! Even more so eager to see the new episodes!!!

Marjorie Gillet

This is so exciting! I'm mentally hopping up and down with excitement. I can't wait for more!

Mark Baker

WOW. Brilliant and the leap in technology is a bonus beyond what I was expecting. A really good episode that bodes well for the future.

Peter Tricker

So special to have the Time Team crew back on the TV again. I love it and the new technology is mind bending!!!

Edwin Jacobs

Finally after so many years, fantastic.

Freda Bradley

Loving the new tech and shoutouts to the camera and sound and all the crew. It really felt like being there and the sound was great considering I remember there being considerable wind when the first backgrounds were done last year.

Richard Stedall

I am sure I was not the only one who was nervous about seeing the first new TT... would it still *feel* like the TT of old? I need not have worried. You have done a stunning job marrying up the old feel of TT with the new modern technology. I look forward to seeing the rest of the episodes as they are released :-)

Robert Wise

Well done! Very well done indeed! Everyone … thank you each and all! This glimpse turned out to be better than I dared hope. Love the new and improved tech … seeing 2 cm layers in the geophys is amazing! Now I’m looking forwards to finding out what that cavity in Matt’s trench turns out to be! And Naomi … I bet she found a hell of a lot more than that one piece of pottery? Best of all is seeing the team back together again, this is sooo right!

Sam Kerr-Smiley

I can't tell you how happy that made me!

Todd Gillespie

This brings back great memories from the cast to the background music! Wonderful!

Dave Decker

Wonderful. Just this preview has justified my investment in you. Thank you so much.

Harriet Clough

That was *awesome*! I'm waiting eagerly for next weekend now, and organising the watchparties!

Kevin Baldwin

Fantastic. Great that you’ve managed to keep the authentic Time Team feel and introduce new techniques and team members. Congratulations

Ed Claytor

As everyone has said great job, glad to see you back.

Bob Pockney

Perfect first episode - archaeologists, production, edit, sound, music. Congratulations Tim and the whole team.

John Anderson

There really is something soothing about it

Gordon Elliott

Great to see the new episode, well worth waiting for and can't wait for the next episodes!

Greg Davies

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to help bring Time Team back. I am thrilled with this preview and proud to have played a small part in its production. We've missed you all so very much!

Esther Curry

So good! Can't wait to see the rest. Thanks for letting us be a part of this.

Richard Sherwood

Looking forward to the new episodes of Time Team. It as the classic Time Team feel to it. Must admit missing the excited enthusiasm of Tony Robinson and Phil Harding and the calming and controlling Mick Aston. Hope Tony and Phil are watching and hope Mick is looking down!

Beth

I teared up at the intro . . . must be all the dust . . . yeah, that's it. Dust.

Neil Ford

Just incredible, amazing and agree with the comments about the emotion of TT coming back. Love the addition of the timeline on the graphics. Very grateful to have the opportunity to see this first episode in advance. Thank you and can’t wait for 2&3!!!

Priscilla Logan

The Sprint bill was so exciting there's so much going on the technology is so much better that it was I can't wait I'm so excited I'm going to get my champagne bottle out guys are doing a great job I'm so glad for all of you thanks for the great preview.

Derek

Congratulations and thanks to everyone in front of and behind the camera. That was fantastic. A perfect blend of the familiar and the new. It felt like catching up with old friends.

Priscilla Logan

Sorry for the prattling but my telephone doesn't understand me. But you get the chest of what I'm trying to say I hope

Adam Rogers

Amazing! Great return straight to form, and embracing some amazing tech. Not sure how to phrase it without sounding negative, but Gus’s narration is a bit more David Attenborough than Tony’s punchiness. Not a criticism, I’m guessing it’s my ears having 30 years of Mr Robinson in them.

Michael Elder

Fantastic to see the program being continued and to see some of the original crew . I would love to see Mr Harding pay a visit to add his unique sense of perspective and excitement. As in the original series the use of the latest technology to bring the digs to life is awesome.

Amy Krause

Congratulations to the whole team! What an achievement. The advances in GeoPhys technology and 3D visual representations are breathtaking. Gus’ narration is delightful. And the look on the site director James’ face when Natalie mentioned ´labyrinthine’ is pure joy. It was delightful to see so many familiar faces and new ones too. I feel quite privileged and proud to be a Patreon supporter. Looking forward to next weekend! 👍

Simon Orchard

Welcome back TT old friend, we've missed you. Loving some of the new technology tools available now.

Christopher Samuel

It's real. It's finally real. It's also so very good. Balancing the need for inevitable change with the essence of the old series has worked very well. The leaps in the geofizz and photogrammetry are amazing, I so hope there will be some online digital archive of these we'll be able to explore in the future. The archaeology is still the star though, and this site looks like a great one for the return of Time Team! Can't wait to see the rest. One question - will these be written up in report form like the originals were by Wessex Archaeology? I always found those interesting to read as they often had more information from post-excavation work.

Donna Shelton

Loved all of it. So great to see familiar faces, as well as new ones. I'm looking forward to all the archeology that was discovered. Thank you, Time Team!

jenni burke

I've watched Time Team since the very beginning of the original series and what a joy it is to see the return to our screens. The new technology is phenomenal!

Don Griffith

I discovered the original Time Team shows about a year ago and am delighted to see the new version. It's great to see the returning TT veterans and I look forward to seeing the full set of shows. Thank you for allowing me to chip in financially and for keeping us so well informed!

Stuart Barry

A wonderful blend of the familiar TT series of old with the new presenters and technology. So happy to see it back again (on a Sunday evening no less) and to have been a very small part of making it happen and being there with you all on the TT flag. Keep it up and we hope for many many more episodes this year, next year and onwards.

Kevin Mc

This is fantastic. And Tim, you are too modest. YOU made this happen, and we patreons just bought into YOUR vision. I feel incredibly honoured to be a part of it.

Elaine P

Utterly fabulous, and WHAT a captivating tease. And feeling right at home as if the show had never stopped. Cannot wait until this weekend to see the whole production.

Michał Olechno

That was fantastic ! Gus is great. Well done, thank you very much, can't wait to see full episode

Ann H

Can't wait to see what Naomi finds. With the other tools and tech it adds new dimensions. Looking forward to what's coming.

Kathryn

This is Wonderful!! I can’t wait to see EVERYTHING!!

Connie L Merchant

Fantastic & Outstanding! Familiar faces, familiar music, welcome new faces, continual professionalism, and all well done. Incredible new technology, too. This was enjoyable and interesting!

Janet Sutton

So excited to see this. And I love the fact that you're using the original music.

Patricia G Gerresheim

I'm so excited to watch the new episodes. It's lovely to see so many original members, and the newcomers seem awesome. I miss Tony and Phil, but maybe we can get some cameos? Hearing the original music was exhilarating, too. It's like you never left!!

Alan Pryke

Absolutely brilliant, can't wait until next weekend will put the bubbly on hold

Mark Lund

Yep, I also tried to stop watching, but just couldnt!. What a site. Roll on nest weekend...rugby and TT...wow!

John Matthew IV

What a great start! Can't wait to see the rest of the videos. Well done to all involved.

Michael Sperry

Woohoo! Time Team is BACK! This is great! What a wonderful episode, and I can't wait to see the rest. My archeology itch is well-scratched.

Jakub Jůzl

Pretty nice so far! Production quality is awesome, no debate there. Overall the preview feels much less dramatic than previous Time Team episodes, perhaps due to the calmer style of narration/presentation. However after a short while one is going to get used to it I think. Fingers crossed for the premieres to reach as wide of an audience as possible!

Birna Magnusdottir

The first time team in 10 years... Im a bit emotional... something in my eye... utterly brilliant

Bob Benton

wonderful to have Time Team back and all the youngsters like John Gator and stewart Ainsworth and of course the lovely young ladies Carenza etc . well thy all look young to me .

Oz

it is soooooo AMAZING, even better than I could possibly have dared to dream for the relaunch, super excited and looking forward to more!

Kate

Thanks for the timeline on the bottom right of the screen! Saying Iron Age or Bronze Age, despite having a general idea, seeing combined with dates is so so helpful! Excellent visual aid.

Elizabeth Ackermann

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! Can’t wait to see the rest.

Roger Mills

Had the series continued the advances in technology would not have been as startling as they are after this gap - but as Phil would say you still have to dig. Nice to see Carl back too. This has been value for money. Thanks so much.

Rosemary Henderson

Good work, everyone! I love the familiar feel and so glad to see many of the old crew back, supplemented by the new crew.

IngiDraws

Fantastic ❤️🥳❤️ — I had such a lovely moment of bliss while watching ❤️❤️❤️

Philip Stack

Brilliant. The benefits of the YouTube/multi-episode format are already clear: the archaeology is the star of the show. Looking forward to next weekend.

Shannon Stubsten

I am astonished that this was just a preview - the rest of the story must be shattering. Thank you all for bringing this back.

Bruce Martin

I hear the song and I know it’s time for Time Team!!!!

Patricia Amero

I was shaking at the end of this 1st video! I LOVED IT...thank you ALL so much!

Elizabeth Nickless

Amazing, I was so thrilled to see this and the new technology makes everything so much easier to see, and understand the layouts etc, the geo-phys. and the relation to the landscape.. and all the features and finds are all so much clearer. I almost cried with happiness to see Time Team back in action. The new presenters are doing a great job. Loved all of it. Thank you !!!

Loz

Absolutely wonderful stuff from start to finish. Really looking forward to parts 2 and 3! Particularly liked the really helpful timeline that comes up on the bottom of the screen - a genius touch to help quickly remind us of the context, and made things easier to follow. Brilliant all round!! (Please do think about adding subtitles using YouTube's closed caption feature, though. Would be a massive boost for accessibility for anyone who struggles with hearing, or who may not be familiar with UK accents. Not an issue for me but would likely help others.)

Nicholas & Elizabeth Dyer

Such a brilliant piece 👏, thank you to everyone for making this happen, we were on cloud 9 when it finished, can't wait until Friday.

Brian Petersen Hine

Amazeballs, Sunday evening and I`ve watched a new episode of Time Team again, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside 😊

Scott Peckins

wow! worth the wait! great look and presentation!

Nina Surr

Oh my gosh that was good! I love the pacing of this. It feels a bit slower than older Time Team episodes, but it still has relentless forward motion. It was a half hour where time just fell away.

Mechanical Muse

Wonderful! Thank you and the team for all the work that went into this! It's wonderful, and I can't wait for more. Great work!

Neil Baxter

Very exciting - so pleased to have been able to be a small part of bringing TT back!

Mechanical Muse

Yes! In fact I'll admit I would have liked to see the full opening credits. :) Unnecessary, for sure, but it puts a smile on my face.

Michael Fulk

That's the sauce! Watching that felt like coming home.

JFF

I have waited so long for this congratulations 👏🏼. Having loved and studied history so many years ago….. Time Team was an absolute favourite…..introducing & seducing us into so many different times from the past, combining so many disciplines - archeology, sociology, artistry etc and all the characters we have come to know as old friends. Welcome back it is lovely to see you .

Robert P Saunders

I've watched the preview and I'm sitting here like a Cheshire cat with a great big smile. Well done everybody I think it's going to be great can't wait.

Owen Terry Shaw

Wow! Just Wow!! From the USA I've watched every old episode a dozen times. I couldn't wait to join you in this new adventure... At 70 years of age, I have my Time Team T-Shirt I proudly wear and feel like I'm now part of the Team... You've made my day and I can't wait to see more!!

Bron Lloyd

I keep tearing up at these videos haha!

Sven Wichert

I enjoyed this first glimpse of the new stuff very much. Having studied geophysics myself I am looking forward to see all the new techniques and equipment put into use in the new episodes. Thank you very much for bringing this amazing series back!

nick cerase

Just fantastic. Well done to everyone!!

Valerie O' SULLIVAN

Absolutely fabulous! So brilliant to get that old feeling of excitement watching a new TT. Fantastic to see a great mix of faces old and new. Delighted to be a small part of the team.

Bob and Pam

We've got a thing its called Time Team love, we've got a thing and its called ...............Time Team Love.

Dave Edwards

Wonderful. Love how familiar yet different it feels. Like meeting up with old friends after a lifetime apart. Some of the new techniques look like they're going to be game-changers particularly the use of photogrammetry to explore and document the site. Can't wait to see the rest!

Martin Packer

This was very good but I'm a little confused. Is this really the first part of the three-parter? I don't suppose it actually is - as it's rather chopped up.

Don Cook

Long awaited; much appreciated!

Magnus Ekhall

Just watched it, and it is fantastic! 30 minutes felt like 30 seconds. Can't wait for the other two parts.

Doug Lucey

Brilliant preview. Well done to all concerned!

M.E. Burnes

I appreciated seeing that much loved boot & hand that’s always seen during the intro/theme song, but became teary-eyed when the episode started, and Gus started talking. Thank you, so much.

shirley

Wow, wow, wow, wow! You've made a couple of Canadian geeks so happy! We first found the show on a UK visit in 2010 and have been struggling to see them all ever since. Not always the best quality tape but now, this takes the cake! Happy we started w Patreon a year ago and will continue if you can keep up this quality!

Kristin Sweetland

This is just so fantastically great. Feeling a bit misty!

Trish Murphy

I’m very proud to have been in the 1st 1,000 patrons. Cannot wait til next weekend ✌️💚

Julia Picton

That was amazing !!! Worth the wait and more. Fantastic job everyone and so grateful to all the old team and the new. It was just so comforting to watch - if you know what I mean. Great new presenter too. So happy! Thank you

Stitch

Very pleasantly surprised. I knew that I would miss Tony, Phil, Ian, Robin, Victor and, of course, Mick, but with most of the gang back it was fantastic. I truly enjoyed the addition of Gus as his narration was spellbinding. What surprised me most is how far geo physics has come since the day they printed out their survey on a dot matrix printer in the back of a car. This is going to be fun!

Sally Ramey

This preview is awesome and I am so excited to see more!

Artesian

Ths is special and more than meets my expecttatons. Must be fun for everyone especially the veterans. I mss ProfessorNick, Victor and Phil among all the others.

Elizabeth B Hess

So proud that we could club together and allow Time Team to produce new shows. It's quite remarkable, really,

Justin L Williams

Fantastic - great to see Time Team back and really enjoyed the preview.

Jude Edling

This is Time Team!!! Thank you and I can hardly wait to see more.

Levy

Geophys definitely has Radar Love.

Petra

I'm so excited for this to come out on my birthday! What a great gift!

Caroline Borduin

Yay for the Mick mugs on Derek and Laurence's table!

Paul Convery

Well that was a bit good! Might be some change in who is on the Team and is still sad that Mick isn't here to see this revival, but it felt like being back at home watching that and I couldn't have been happier about it :)

Donna Oglesby

Watching this preview makes me want to jump up and down. All the new Kit is awesome, and so much more to see, that I had originally thought. Very Intriguing. But I wish Dr. Phil Harding was there. I so miss him. In a sad way I keep expecting Mick to show up, but know he is watching form heaven above along with Victor, Robin and others, and just cheering you all on. Hoping to get a crack at maybe seeing a small appearance of Sir Tony as well?? Once never knows, but very Interesting, Look forward to seeing more. Makes both Paul and I so proud that we are small contributors to all of this.

Ken Durbin

I didn't read all the comments, so I apologize if someone already made this suggestion, but when Matt was showing where a ditch started or ended, please bring back the yellow highlights so we can see the boundary's more clearly. But...LOVED the show and can't wait to see the rest!

Ken Durbin

I'm not crying, you're crying!

Trish Murphy

I’ll be watching these episodes multiple times and I’m getting friends & family hypes to watch as well. Thank you all for massive effort & for giving us a sneak peak.

Trish Murphy

the tech & geophys is already incredibly impressive. Well done✌️💚

Seda Mcclurg

OMG!!!! I can't believe it's all for real!!! Thank you all for making it also a bit like coming home. Hello from USA!!!

Elise Norwood

Fabulous! Thank you Time Team ❤️

Fern Wilcox

What a great "appetizer". I am so happy for all of you AND all of us out here! So looking forward to more. I couldn't be any happier on this grey day in late Winer here in Minnesota. Well done ALL.

Robert Miller

It feels so good to have it back

Michael J Gilday

Nice teaser ask to what to expect when the main episode is released.

Jane K Eubanks

I can not tell you how happy I am to see Time Team!!! Thank you for the opportunity to become a Patreon supporter...

Susie Stockton-Link

Oh, wonderful. SUCH a lot to explore - the geophys is stunning. When John Gater's impressed with a new piece of kit... Can't wait for the rest. In an insane world, this is so grounding ( and - yes, so comforting to the worried and sleepless. ) Roll on the next!

Tom Gooden

Huzzah ! I’m so happy to see a new Time Team. So interesting ! Some good news when we need it. Congratulations from Victoria Australia

Graham Dombkins

That was so good! Love the new tech and how it can bring so much more to our understanding!

William Lee

Loving it, but I do hope Natalie gets more narration/camera opportunities, she seemed a little overshadowed in this preview

Patricia Amero

I'm enjoying seeing all the new 'stuff', but also that the camera crew is in the shots! They are just as key as everyone else in their contribution. I hope we continue to see this in future. PLUS...Matt cut trench #1 !!😎...he's so smart & engaging, glad he's more in the limelight. 👍 from Yukon, Canada

Gerald Carey

Really enjoyed the drone overviews of the site and...the new geophys! Wow! Funnily enough, the thing I was also aware of was the music. Straight from the old series, it helped make the episode feel very familiar.

Dorothy Frank

Just finished this - what fun. The music, the faces, the voices... and what an amazing site. I can't wait to find out the rest.

Stephen Southworth

Quality much better than I expected on what must be a difficult balance between cost and budget available. Thank goodness we aren’t being treated to presenters trying to be Tony Robinson. All we are missing is a cameo from Phil Harding. Perhaps he can be lured out at some point in the future, fingers crossed. When I saw the preview was 30 mins I wondered whether it would be too much too soon, but it’s way too little to wait!!! Thanks to everyone who has backed this via Patreon! Fan power in action!!

Mark Horn

I have never supported anything and been so excited to have done so as I have with TT. I can’t wait for the full episodes to air. Strange to think I watched the first episode in 1994 with my dearly departed mother. I’m now in my fifties and waiting with to watch these new episodes with my 27 year old daughter . Fingers crossed she will be watching TT with her children in another 25 years too.

Cheryl Kurucz

That was absolutely brilliant to watch. Thank you so much everyone at time team and to all the other Patreon’s that helped make this possible. Bless you all🙏🏻❤️🤗

Bart Caudell

Loved this first episode, so looking forward to the following two. I'll tune in to watch this one again on YouTube, though, on "Public Premiere Night". (probably watch it here a few more times this week, actually...)

James D Speckart

So glad to see this, and sooner than I expected! It's a bit of the old formula that worked so well, along with some hints of what might be possible in the new format. I can't wait to see what the new team can do--after all, everyone was unsure but energetic all the way back in Season 1. So I'm hoping we can see some success and some all new stars (and great new finds) emerge!

Eggs Ackley

🎶I been digging all day, my hand’s wet on the trowel🎶

Norine Nagle

I love how the tools have become more sophisticated and the digging progresses steadily. The team seems to work well together.

Norine Nagle

You can see how much must have landed on the cutting room floor when this was a television production.

Chris Siegmann

Loved it. Something old, something new, something borrowed, ...... Now for something blue?

Steve Atkins

Magic. The team have beautifully melded the old with the new to create a very watch worthy episode that the old guard would be proud of. Thank you all so very much.

Wendy Harper

Team thank you that was amazing to watch and a thrill to have archeology and history done well back on our screens.

Tamra Prior

First thing I noticed straight away, thank goodness the music is the same! It's weirdly one of the things that I love the most, and would have missed.

Alex Gregory

Can’t wait to see the rest! So happy that the original backing music is there too! It’s the small things and well done to everyone involved!

David Boon

A wonderful preview with far more detail than I was expecting. Loving the new toys and ways of presenting the information.

Lacy Oden

I’m weepy-eyed! It’s absolutely amazing and stunning! The presenters did great job! I love it =) So excited to see more. Fantastic job. So proud to be a small part of this!

Nicole Loxley

This brought tears to my eyes! The production team has done an amazing job retaining the 'look and feel' of the original show, whilst incorporating new technologies without letting them dominate the programme. It's wonderful to see the old and new members of Time Team doing what they do best. I'm glad to be a small part of helping to bring back Time Team to inspire the young and the young-at-heart with the love of archaeology.

Rhonda K Hageman

Oh, this is splendid! Just as it should be. So good to hear the familiar voices again… and, yes, the music! Delighted.

Susan Strangman

I hadn’t realised how much the music is part of my Time Team experience! BLISS!!

Bob Arnold

Great job! Great site, so much discovered before Time Team, and so much more for Time Team to learn. Blend of old and new, it all seems to come together. We *really* enjoyed this.

Lisa A.

I looked the other day for their music in the store, online anywhere, and couldn't find any. Hopefully they'll see your comment, and put some together for us?

Wendy Gore

Fascinating site, brilliant to watch, really enjoyed this, thank you.

Birna Magnusdottir

We dont have Tim and Phil bantering, I think that is why, but wow it felt soooo good to watch this and see Carenza, John, Stewart, Helen, Matt and even Naomi, Brigid and Raysan plus the others. Narrator sounded a bit like Attenborough but he is so sweet and this is gonna be so nice to have TT back. Im so happy with it

Jon Zephanius

What else can I say? Three cheers! It's so wonderful to see Time Team in the modern day, and it is great to be here.

Tony Clayton

Episode 1 was amazing, I am so happy to be a part of the journey since the very first call for Patron's.

Sarah Holloway

What an absolute pleasure to watch Time Team again it’s absolutely wonderful and so very exciting .

Mark Walters

Thank you, thank you, fantastic, more please!!!

Fiona Murray

I was excited to see how the new episodes would turn out, but this has just blown my mind! The tech has come so far <3 I can't wait to see more!!

Richard Wesson

Wow! that was brilliant. So nice to see a new episode and an excellent site as well. Well done to all of you.

Bob Junior

Also great presenters! I thought it would be hard to replace Tony but they are doing a great job

D G Herring

I promise to be patient and give the new team time to settle in, but I was underwhelmed by the preview. Time Team was all about creating a sense of excitement concerning the upcoming dig. It set clear objectives for the three days and then held the digging team and other experts to account (with irreverent banter along the way when things didn't seem to go to plan). Even though I've followed this dig via your previous postings, I was unsure what the dig was trying to achieve. The presenters hardly had a word to say for themselves beyond the occasional ''wow" (although, to be fair, there was a "liminal" at one point). More than anything else, the pace was wrong for me. Where was the dashing around from one trench to the next, the out of breath interviews, the tremors of excitement. You may be trying to establish a new direction and feel for the programme - but "watching paint dry" was my overall feeling, in spite of the great tech innovations you brought to the party. Still, as I say, even Tony had a bit of a mare in his début episode...

Suzanne Gabriel

This is amazing! Thank you! So amazing to see the advances in technology!

Andy H

I was worried that it'd be too different from the original TT, it is different but I love it. Very much looking forward to the following installments

Clara Capriotti

All good points. I think there are a few things to consider. The presenters are still new and filling very big shoes - if they had tried holding the experts accountable (through banter like you mentioned) I believe it would have felt forced and unauthentic. Also I think a big chunk of this episode was just introducing a lot of new technology that the audience isn't familiar with, which doesn't get my heart pounding but intriguing nonetheless. Lastly this site has proven itself archeologically viable already, so maybe some of the excitement regarding whether or not there are going to be amazing discoveries is diminished by the fact that there have already been amazing discoveries at this partially excavated site, so logically we can expect more. I think they made a good decision doing this site first (or at least offering it as a choice) because we all need it to be a success lol and now they can show off what they can do with their new tech and crew. Save the risky, perhaps more exciting sites for when they've hit their stride and have a lot of support from successful digs. Turn a big ship slowly as they say.

David & Ruth Samuels

Super exciting! Wonderful tech, great commentary — can’t wait for the full episodes.

M.E. Burnes

I’ve looked for the music from TT Special 31 - Britain's Drowned World, to no avail.

Andy Hodgkinson

Such a joy to be watching a new TT. Well done everyone for making this a reality!

Jakub Jůzl

Me too, glad to have TT back! And the spirit is definitely there. I'm excited for future developments.

Pat Szastkiw

Three words I plan to sprinkle into my upcoming conversations: “liminal,” “cobwebbery,” and “labyrinthine.” Thanks, Natalie.

Marilyn Holloway

As usual, geophys are bringing us cutting edge tecniques.

Nathan Lyons

YES! YES! YES! THIS. IS. TIME TEAM!

Nathan Lyons

Ummm... You do understand this was a preview, right?

Veerle Morgenstern

I really love it. Very exciting to see this. It's so different than other sites you went to in past series. Awesome.

Roger Dyrøy

Loved every minute. So glad Time Team is back!

Graham Dombkins

It's like silk. Yes he's a great presenter for TT.

Sue Jaiteh

John Gater, where is your car key?!

Olivia McGerty

Absolutely fantastic! All the wonderful new technology and the way you have included your audience in the information is wonderful! So easy to follow! Thank you.

Lisa. Boulton

Woohoo! Loved. this so much!!!! Thank you to everyone who's contributed in their different ways :)

HB Murphy

Yes! I'm so excited!!

Torleif Småback

Oh wow! This looks so amazingly good and fantastic! I can hardly wait for the premiere. One thing I miss is the good old banter between Tony and Phil ;)

Dorothy Africa

I was surprised at how emotionally thrilling it was for me to hear the old Time Team opening again with its familiar scenes and music but as part of a brand new series of episodes

Michelle Rodriguez

To see and hear the Time Team opening sequence knowing that it was a brand new episode- brought tears to my eyes. Thank you!!!!

Joshua M

So wonderful to have you back! I love the new presenters (is that what you call TV hosts over there?)! Can’t wait to see the rest!

Denise Jones

Will miss the banter between Tony, Phil and Mick. Great to see and hear the familiar faces.

camakarma

Amazing piece! Thank you so much. Enjoyed every second and so excited to see more.

Mary Madelaine Sutton

The new imaging technology is excellent, and very nicely presented. Good job.

Wow, just wow! That was great. I can't wait for the next two episodes. I will definitely be tuning in for the "official" YouTube premiere later today.

Watching the YouTube premiere now. I’m so proud to have played a small part in bringing back the treasure that is Time Team, and I’m so grateful to my fellow patrons. A world with Time Team in it is markedly a better world!

Great! Not a big fan of the new presentation. Sounds like he's whispering dramatically at us all the time. Relax my man, TALK!

Richard Moss

Watched it twice now, and it benefited from a second watch. It's great it's back and there was a lot to enjoy, but I agree with comments that Natalie was treated oddly at the top of the show. No comment on Gus who does a fine job, but I hope she is as prominent going forward as what she was given to do showed signs of what she could offer that is distinctive and valuable. If I was being really pernickety the storytelling could have been slightly sharper. The new tech is great, but it's the human interaction and unfolding of the story that makes Time Team compelling. Also who's in charge? You need a central figure (a Mick) for the presenters to question and interrogate. I wasn't sure who it was here? But there'll be some bedding down and development to do and I appreciate its the first show back. It's a fascinating site and great to see John, Carenza, Matt, Stewart, Helen meshing with new team members. Can't wait to see the next episodes.

After watching day 1 twice, I’m still hyped but the rose colored glasses are starting to clear. Gus sound more like he’s whispering a script on safari, trying not to disturb the animals

I miss Tony’s assertive tone. So far the presenters are playing a part (reading a script) instead of reacting genuinely to the archeology. I’m still happy to be here & my hope is I just need to get used to the new format ✌️💚

I certainly reserve them critiques for patreon. I am nothing but supportive on YouTube. We need more patreon members to continue these digs.

I am enjoying Gus's approach. He's clearly not trying to mimic Tony's style or to "replace" Tony in any other way. He's got his own way of conveying excitement about the topic. Yes, he is more low-key, but his voice becomes very intense when there is something especially interesting for him to tell us about. Two different styles, but both are valid in my view.

Tracy Wadlow

I agree also he adds the ability to draw. He should explore that more. I miss the contributions of Victor Ambruz. I've seen Gus on his other show and he was often drawing.

Richard Moss

I agree there is a need for the presenters to represent the viewers and challenge the archaeologists, and there probably needed to be a little more of that. Tony though had grooved that approach over 20 years, and already knew Mick before they began filming, so he would have felt more confident even from Day 1 of doing that. Over the three episodes I thought Gus showed some real strengths in terms of making a connection between the archaeology and the human story, culminating in an atmospheric and thoughtful final piece to camera. He has a warmth that feels genuine. Hoping to see more of Natalie too in Dig 2, as, apart from anything else, she's very funny.

I'm so happy Time Team is back. So glad to have helped out a little bit by supporting them here on Patreon. But I was slightly disappointed overall. As others have said you need more of a "lead", a Mick type person, someone to make decisions on camera. We also need more fun and excitement. I think Gus is a great addition, but not as a host. Natalie seems like a better fit for sole host. Hopefully she will be more prominent in the future. There was discussion on here several weeks ago about how much to emphasize the "only 3 days!" aspect. I think after seeing the 3 episodes the conclusion is that it needs to be emphasized much more. We need that extra energy and excitement that we used to have. Still, I'm glad it's back and hopefully no one is offended by my thoughts.

Wow. Having watched all three new episodes, I am really excited. This was everything I had hoped for when I signed up as a Patreon. The new graphics are amazing -- even the resolution one the cameras from the drones is noticeably better. I know it is early days, and the new team is still figuring out what this new show will be. I think I am in agreement with many others -- Gus and Natalie needed more screen time. In the original, Tony was our avatar, asking our questions and being our view into the process. I find I also rather missed his running from trench to trench. I would also really prefer if Gus used his normal speaking voice in the narration. When he's just talking on camera, he has a great voice. The narration sounds too much like the hushed tones of Sir David Attenborough, afraid to startle whatever amazing critter he is talking about. I would prefer if Gus simply talked, and I don't think the archaeology is going to startle. I am picking at small things. If every episode were like this one, I would still be pleased as anything and eagerly watching all of them.

Tim and Dana Robison

I absolutely agree with your sentiments... particularly in regard to the host situation and more fun and excitement. I sort of felt I was in my favorite concert tee ready for a good romp at the pub, but when the narration started I suddenly felt as though I was in a tight collar with too much starch watching a golf tournament at some horrid country club. Obviously I miss Mick and Victor very much, as we all do I am sure, but it's almost worse that Tony and Phil aren't present, because they could conceivably be participating. I would definitely prefer Natalie as the main presenter if we can't have Tony. I'm sure Gus is a lovely person, and has plenty to offer, but my disappointment over the tone and pace of the narration can't be ignored. I will watch them all regardless, but I definitely feel the need to go watch old episodes afterward.

I also agree with the above comments. Love that time team is back. I hope the production team will look at feedback on these comments! To me it feels a bit rough around the edges and reminds me very much of the first few Time Team. As in the beginning I'm sure the team, and the presenters will pick up the pace and polish new Time Team into something great!
