We are thrilled to exclusively reveal details of Time Team's second brand new dig site for 2022!

Watch the video from Tim for all the news. We'll be sharing this with the general public soon, so please remember where you heard it first, keep the surprise and join us again to help spread the word when we do.

With both new 2022 sites confirmed, keep a look out for our upcoming Site Wrestle sessions, featuring Tim, Helen, Stewart and Naomi to discover more about the journey ahead.

We've also paid a visit to the sites to prepare for the digs and have more details to follow.

But can we dig a 3rd new site this year? We're getting closer to the 8,000 target so please stay with us and spread the message among like-minded friends!

Fantastic! Any chance of selected reading lists? I know we can scout them on our own but recommendations from the U.K. expert crew for the most pertinent would be nice. Helps us outside the sceptered isle nail down local geography.

Phelim McIntyre

I want to be part of the team on this one - even though there looks like a Roman element spoiling the Anglo-Saxon site 😁

Don Gibson

Wonderful news. I simply can’t understand why a national broadcaster hasn’t made an offer to continue a legacy that is vitally important. Thankfully there are many many fellow Patreon supporters that won’t take no for an answer.

Nathan Lyons

Tim's in exactly the right spot. Broadcast is dead and cable is on life support. A streaming service is the best bet IF he wants to trade control for cash. Which I hope he doesn't.

Kali Smith

I'm so excited! Y'all are the best. :-)

Hunt

Excellent news. Anglo-saxon sites are always fascinating, if you can locate them! Both sites for 2022 sound fantastic.

Lucy Huntzinger

Best news I've had this month. I voted for the Anglo-Saxon cemetery!

Charlotte Edmonds

Oh I am thrilled, I was really hoping these would be the two sites! How exciting!

Elise Norwood

AThis seems a great opportunity to learn about the Anglo-Saxons. For folks in the new world, where cemeteries are still a living issue, could you spend a few minutes in the program on the topic of graveyards, bodies, and according respect in European sites to provide some context? I know it's been mentioned before on other episodes, but in the US our concepts are a bit different and shaped by differences in our past. Amazing as always!

James Matney

After hearing Mary Ellen talk about the life of the Anglo-Saxons. I about start all my family member of the passed Anglo-Saxons. (Kind of hard to as we live the U.S.)

C. Ni Anluain

Definitely a fantastic opportunity to learn more, thanks for the great comment Brian 😊

C. Ni Anluain

Such a fascinating topic, we can’t wait for this dig 😊

Christopher Samuel

Oh great news! Especially if it's a cross-over site with Roman Britain! Also nice to see this filmed on location at a place I won't mention, very keen to see what is revealed there! Is that Jimmy in the background?

Richard Seaton

Really enjoyed the Full feature-length Dig 2 Broadcast last night. There was a lively audience and much banter. Great fun!

Patricia Amero

YES! Two smashing sites that I'm more than happy to support. 🙌

Mark Freestone

Looking forward to seeing John Gater at Womad…! Hopefully get to meet him (and buy him a pint?! I’ll be working at the Real Ale Bar…!)

Wolfgang Zenker

Only 10 days left to reach the 8000 patreons needed for 3 digs this year. keeping fingers crossed …

Michael Greenhalgh

Wondering why they wear hard hats in a 12 inch deep trench with nothing above them.

Nicholas & Elizabeth Dyer

Excellent news, can't wait for the behind the scenes insights, makes watching Time Team more enjoyable.

Penny Ewles-Bergeron

This sounds fascinating. A site like that would be intriguing anywhere but since my ancestors all hail from Norfolk and Suffolk I take a special interest in this one. :-)
