It's here, the third and final Site Walkabout of our Knights Hospitaller preceptory dig in Shropshire. The mist and rain have dissipated, leaving us with beautiful sunshine to complete Day Three. The archaeology has been pretty good too!

We're off now to film the final scene and there are rumours of a keg of beer supplied with the local brewery Stonehouse... oh and some gin from Shropshire Distillery, too... thanks guys!

But the show's not over. In fact, it's just getting started. Look out for our Q&A session with Helen coming up (with more interviews on the way), and a fantastic immersive 3D model of the site.

Stay tuned...

Great stuff and I liked the bleep outs too!

Norine Nagle

I am loving the trench tours!

Carl Johnson

Thanks for the tour and I'm looking forward to the Stonehouse review. Seeing all those students made me wish Time Team had been around when I was still in school, and I guess also I'd have to be living in the UK.

Simon Orchard

Ooh, teasers galore. I'll throw my hat in the ring and take a guess that John's results suggest a Roman temple

Anja Adam

Am I correct in understanding that John said Stewart was right after all? That's really nice of you, John. =)

Graham Stokes

Lovely stuff. How deep did that first test pit in this vid end up before closing it? Great to see new volunteers and archaeology students participating.

Graham Stokes

8min 47 secs~Yes vote for Monks with trowels idea! But I enjoyed this whole thang!\]

Donna Oglesby

The trench tours are nice. Great seeing both Dani and John! Hugs to you John!

Roger Mills

Thanks for all this excellent content.

Jude Edling

Finally some time with John Gator, always a fun way to wrap up a day. Thanks Dig Watch!!

Lacy Oden

Awesome update! Sounds like lots of great news everywhere. Good to see the test pit folks enjoying themselves. Wish I could help!

Leanne Ulvang

Is it just me, or do these tantalizing glimpses of the dig-in-process strike you as an archeological strip tease? Don't get me wrong -- I love them. It's either that or you're inducing addiction in your fans -- so you'd better keep our short fixes coming until the real deal next spring!

Steve Mikre

Excellent site walkabout. It is nice to see students getting the opportunity to participate in the dig gaining valuable experience. They could be future Time Team archeologists...

Patricia Amero

🤔 so... DID Stewart buy a round at the pub? 🍻

Robert Boudreau

Brilliant having students involved with a TT dig. All those top in their field pros around them to listen to and learn from, what a wonderful experience for them.

Simon Orchard

A ritual penalty spot of course ;-)

Charlotte Edmonds

No arboreal observations this time? I was enjoying the joke while it lasted 😊

Charlotte Edmonds

Thank you to all of the team for the extra work that goes into the Dig Watch videos, I've been thoroughly enjoying them and it's brilliant to get insight and context that no doubt will enhance our enjoyment of the full programmes when they come out. It occurred to me, the original Time Teams were 45mins long - we've had that amount of coverage and more just on the walkabouts alone for this site, and nearly that amount for the other site too. Absolutely brilliant, what a treat it's been - and great to be able to rewatch and pick out more details each time as well. A huge huge thank you.

Robert Wise

Seemed like I’d stretched it far enough …I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Eelco Kruidenier

Very good trench tour and a lot of interesting teasers. I can't wait for the broadcast.

Matthew Rice

John Gater with the big trench tease. Any hints which episode he’s referring to guys?

Peter Lee

Am guessing they have found an apse

JUDITH COOKE

Excellent wrap up. Sounds like there’s a very good story to be told. Thanks so much for all the delightful background commentary, it has been most enjoyable.

Matt Cummins

You'll get told off for mucking about in the finds tent without supervision!

Matt Cummins

It is absolutely fascinating seeing "behind the scenes" of these digs: all the stuff that makes for a successful project. Fantastic stuff, thanks!
