The dust is still settling since our latest dig, but there are still plenty more behind-the-scenes insights to come from both sites in the weeks ahead.

Upcoming posts include some great archaeology skills masterclasses, additional 3D models, and more Spoil Heap Q&As with Stewart Ainsworth, John Gater, Hilde van der Heul, Jackie McKinley, and Helena Hamerow... and let's not forget more of Dr Sam Newton on his Saxon lyre!

In the meantime, here's Naomi and Dani with a end wrap from the Knights Hospitaller preceptory site. As Naomi notes, the work doesn't stop after the digs – finds have to be cleaned up, processed and analysed back in the lab, trenches recorded and back-filled, and reports have to be written.

What's more, the huge task of post-production begins – reviewing and editing the hours upon hours of footage, adding graphics, reconstructions and voiceovers to create the completed episodes.

We'll be sharing updates and insights on the post-excavation and post-production processes as they unfold.

We will now also be returning to our series of post-excavation videos from last year's dig at Broughton Roman Villa. Coming up, Naomi and Dani will be discussing animal bones.

What's more, things are progressing with development on the third dig site. We'll be arranging another Site Wrestle session soon to debate the merits.

As if that wasn't enough, we have some very exciting new videos on the horizon, dropping in on a range of projects, that we cannot wait to share with you.

So please keep a look out for all the updates and announcements!

I love that you will keep us in the loop as to what happens after the 3 day dig has finished. It's really informative to know what else goes on 'behind the scenes'. Please keep the videos coming! Perhaps it could be scheduled for every Friday - to keep us going over the winter- until we have the edited programmes next spring. 😊

Clive McIntyre

Nearly a touch of Morecombe & Wise there as they head off! They certainly "Bring Me Sunshine"

JUDITH COOKE

But absolutely delightful idiots, Kerry. I would so love to join them in the pub for more of their conversation.

Ann H

Never enough bones, pollen, and snails! Looking forward to more from Naomi.

widget brittle

That was delightful. And it's always a delight to see Kerry!

Andrew Taylor

Ah yes i like some light humor on a Friday afternoon 😁

Graham Stokes

Much appreciated, all this info and sharing. Glad it has already been rewarding. Of course I look forward to what more we learn and see! Charming fun too.

Kerry Hennigan

ha, ha, love Kerry's editorial comment at the end!!!

Donna Holt

Makes me want to go to the pub too!

Steve Mikre

That was a lot of fun to watch...

Kate

We watch the finished product without really understanding how you pull it all together. Mentioning the post dig lab research is important in understanding the time lag between the dig itself and the full picture you present in the spring programs. Thanks Naomi for clarifying that important point. Have fun at the pub!

TimeTeamOfficial

Hi Kate, the dig itself is one stage (although a very important one!) of a much bigger process that we'll continue to update you on between now and the release. In fact, post-excavation work still continues for last year's digs! Look out for more insights from our earlier visits to the lab. Thanks

Jon Colcord

Have we ever spotted Kerry in the pub?

Robert Wise

Marvelous reduction in serious-ocity! Was it three days on site? Bar magnetism? Dig end? Or some subtle tree-effect?

Dyana Mason

Cute. Can't wait to see the final cut!

Elessa Wylde

Thank you for the joy this morning. Could feel it coming through with them. Truly cannot wait for all the upcoming videos related to prior and current digs.

Ann Wagner

Love the fun ending!

Carl Johnson

Are you sure those 2 didn't just come from the pub?

Patricia Amero

Short & sweet, just like Naomi 😊 She is always a ray of sunshine, and Dani... an absolute gem. Kerry's comment at the end is priceless! 😘 Time Team Magic.

Lee

I want to see John & Stuart do the same "going to pub" dance and skip away now! 😂

Jude Edling

Best one yet!!! Sometimes you just have to get your groove on. I love Dani & Naomi's Tea Times, especially the lamb one.

Lacy Oden

I will make an extra one time donation of $50 to see this 😂😂😂

camakarma

Looking forward to the secrets of the soil! 🙌

John VanAntwerp

Really looking forward to the post-excavation work on both sites! I hope we get lots of update here :)

the polish dude

Great ending! just like I remember it from the old shows, humor works,

Stitch

Well played, Kerry!

Raptornet

Makes me glad to be a backer of this, the whole reason I loved original Time Team was because John, Mick, Tony, Phil would roast each other on camera, just the way good mates who know each other can. It made me feel like I was watching a bunch of friends enjoying themselves :-)

Elizabeth Neill

Simply charming. Archaeologists with a strong sense of play.

Paul Bartlett

Elizabeth, I have always found Archaeologists to be cool people. Sometimes I envy their enthusiasm when in the rain. What I like is that they take the familiar and turn it into history. Even mud.

Katie Runion

I absolutely love this new Patreon Platform. So many bits of fascinating information and involvement in all aspects. So much richer and in-depth than was ever possible before. Everyone is doing a wonderful job, thank you! And thank you fellow Patreons. We couldn't have enjoyed this without each other!
