So so great to see Sir Tony again! Have missed him as much as the others.

Jon Colcord

I love the idea of his hosting new specials, but couldn’t we coax him to pop into a dig or two just to harass the diggers a little? 😁

Confused about the "raising your pledge" message now above the still at least on my desktop screen. Are their hidden posts etc? Can TT expand and clarify this message box? Is it specific to my pledge or a general upgrade?

Wolfgang Zenker

I have seen this box on the patreon page of every creator that I support for as long as I'm using Patreon (2+ years). I always thought everyone gets these all the time, at least on the desktop version (don't know about the mobile version as I don't use that one).

Hi Ann, some posts are only available at certain tier levels, so need an upgrade to be unlocked. As Wolfgang mentions this is an automated message generated by the Patreon platform, and may be tailored to the individual member depending on the level you're signed up at. We hope that helps, but if you do have any further questions, please do drop us a message. Thanks

Ann H

Thanks W, first for me via my U.S. ISP email. Just wondering if it was a change.

Ann H

Ultimately, no way to know what I might be missing as there is no specific indication of what is "unseen" and it was never before present. Thanks for your diligent reply.

Dan Southall

It’s so natural to have Tony back. His voice and your show are what I grew up, it’s the comforts of my home 😁

I enjoy watching old episodes on YouTube but can anything be done about the adverts? They appear at such random times - often in the middle of a sentence! They make watching the shows very difficult.

TimeTeamOfficial

Hi Sarah, thanks for the message. We all appreciate how annoying and invasive adverts can be sometimes - especially when interrupting Time Team! That said, it's the advertising that makes it possible for us to stream these Classic episodes for free online so that they are accessible for all. We have reduced the number of possible ads on some videos to get the balance right and will review the timings when they appear. We're currently working on a range of Specials to share online, and plan to make a selection of these initially available exclusively on Patreon, advert free. More details to follow soon. Thanks again for your support.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate the need for having the ads but it would be great if they could match the times of the original ad breaks so that the ends and/or beginnings of sentences don't get cut.

Thank you so very much for these engaging conversations. I enjoy the Mick quotes and the acknowledgments of so many others. Time Team is the best collaborative experience. So many people have invested years of expertise, opinions, perseverance and emotion in Time Team. Thank you, again and again.

Donna Shelton

Sarah, I subscribed to YouTube Premium to avoid ads. Much better experience.

Not sure if you'd be willing to answer, but I wanted to ask - for an interview like this, do you rehearse it beforehand? Or discuss/agree on the questions first, and then do it on camera? I know Tony is an actor and all but damn his delivery is soooo smooth. And I know how hard is to come up with a response to an open-ended question right on the spot.

Worked with Roman glass from an archaeological dig in Egypt (Fustat) in a museum context. They were never washed in the museum. Those that had held paste perfume still had the contents and the smell (rose). Very sandy soil so I am not sure if a wet and muddy dig would leave the glass unwashed.

Comments for the Roman sarcophagus were not working for me so posted here.
