I am so hyped for the token for next month!

The poll decided that we will do the spirit! And I think I want to go for a classic spooky ghost. Graveyard scene maybe or a white lady in a haunted mansion?

Endless possibilities!

What I also thinking about is playing with the graphic design a bit more. What do you think about that? Some more elaborate framing with some nicely integrated typography? Instead of the simple word on the card like we have it right now.

Let me know what you think!

Sounds awesome! Go as crazy as you want to with text, if you think it fits.

Thanks! Keeping the free spirit :) of creative exploration with those cards is a good way to go I think!

Exited for Spirits - one of my oldest and favorite decks makes a ton of Spirit tokens. I also really like the graveyard in the thumbnail.

I absolutely love the idea of integrated typography / going super thematic and having a bunch of fun with the text! That was the first thing that caught my eye with this sketch and I think there’s so much room for possibilities. I also love the idea of an ornate and/or spooky-season-themed framing, and how that might tie into and contrast the vegetation, night sky, etc! I was studying your painting Centaur for an assignment yesterday and I really enjoyed how you played with the framing like that for that piece.

I like how minimalistic the current text on the tokens is, but I also believe that you can make something gorgeous with more ornate typography and such :D

ShyManiac

I like consistency, especially when it comes to the things I collect. I prefer the current minimalistic text style, which keeps the main focus on your gorgeous art. I’m afraid that experimenting with typography, as shown in your sketch, might end up looking like the SL/UB crap Hasbro has been pushing recently.

I'd love to see you experiment with typography! Flex more of your artistic muscles!

Grippi

Do whatever you want. I am here to support your art. Whatever you think is right is also right for me 👌

I think some more elaborate typography would look great! It'd be cool if it rhymed with some of the Innistrad special treatments, especially with the number of 1/1 Spirits that set generates

Cool, I like the dilapidated graveyard look :) white Lady in a mansion sounds very spooky as well. Maybe a veiled white lady over some marsh/swampland, with some swamp lights/whisps? hmm... part of me likes the the minimalistic style that you have been doing so far, but it would also be nice to see, what you come up with :) Though personally i did not like the how the typography was done on eg the Borderless Poster Cards for the Lord of the Rings set (like f.eg. Saruman of many colours version 0743), I found them a hard to read and illegible when on the table. But some i can imagine some typography in a frame around the card (more like the borders that were done for the showcase art in eg innistrad remastered or Kaldheim) :) Going with the graveyard theme, the frame could be a gothic style window of a chapel, looking onto a graveyard. Kind of like what was done on the full art lands of Edge of eternities, where you see part of the spaceships window.

Good point, some consistency can be better for a series of collectibles, especially when showing them off next to each other.

I prefer consistent looking tokens, because it looks awesome in my collection binder. That being said, I'm still interested in some kind of "special" treatment token on specific occasions like Christmas, New Years, etc. But generally I would prefer the tokens staying in the same layout.

All I know is my Teysa deck will absolutely LOVE these
